the food is HORRIBLE....i went there for the first time and ordered a 2 meat combo...which was ribs, chicken and i also ordered a pork chop sandwich. I personally feel for the amount i paid and the amount i received was not equivalent. i got a small ribs and 2 pieces of chicken a leg and thigh..which were very small portions however....it was just nasty...i felt i wasted 23.00 on something i had to throw away. The cashier did not seem like she could add and had no interest in helping me order and forgot to give me back my credit card i had to reach on the counter and get it back after she walked away. besides all that the food was not good....the sauce tastes like HIllarys bbq...which is also AWFUL...I can say the owner lady is nice and did take her time with my order but they could really use a chef that can help them change that god awful taste on the bbq...i would never go there again...it would be helpful if they stop being upset with Chicago bbq and collaborate with some famous bbq store there to know what really sauce should taste like here are a few suggestions...COLEMANS BBQ, JOESS BBQ, LEON BBQ, SMOTHERS BBQ, UNCLE REMUS, ...i really wish there was a great bbq place here in waukegan but there is not ....they are completely NASTY....

I ordered the #1, which is rib tips, fries, coleslaw, and 2 slices of white bread. The rib tips are pretty meaty and they have a good flavor even without the barbecue sauce. The barbecue sauce is homemade and has a good flavor; it goes so well with the flavor of the ribs. The fries are crinkle cut, and I usually do not like those type of fries, but these were surprisingly good. They werent bland, I think they had some sort of seasoning on them. They went well with the bbq sauce also. I didnt care much for the coleslaw. Its made there at Honey Bays too. It had an overwhelming onion flavor in it, which for me, was too much. Overall, the food I got was very good and I would definitely go back to get that again, or to try something different.

I really wish I could say good things about this restaurant but in the three times I have visited something was always wrong. They never have the advertised food, the prices change or were different than stated on the menu on their wall, and the food we received was either bland or too salty. I gave it three shots because issues can happen but for all three times to be unfavorable is just too much. The last time I went someone who obviously was family or a friend of the cook came in and placed an unpaid order which is not right to do in front of paying customers. We ordered things and were charged but the woman who completed our order failed to give us what we paid for. Please do better.

I had the brisket. It was very good, great flavor, the sauce is on point, but over half of my serving was fat. What I ate was probably some of the best brisket Ive ever had. I called to let them know so it doesnt happen in the future, having no intentions of ever returning and I spoke with the owner, who apologized, and handled it the most professional way Ive ever experienced, and was more than willing to make up for it. Its a great way to run a business and Im so thankful it was handled that way because its just such great brisket.

AMAZING!! The establishment was clean and seemed well maintained. Me and friend decided to give this place a try. I went with the rib stack while she went with the Souther fried Catfish. The ribs were well marinated with sauce and were delicious!!!! I tried some of my friends food the catfish was ok but the fries and mash potatoes are a side to get. Definitely recommend this place if wanting to try something new or if you like BBQ.

Went here wanting a pulled chicken sandwich. They didnt have any. Had to get the snack pack. 3 wings fries and 2 slices of white beard about $6. Everything else was expensive, even for barbeque standards. My favorite spots are Real Urban Barbeque, Baby Back Blues, Steamboat Bbq for barbeque. Just wanted to mention these places to show I know my barbeque. Gave this place a shot...never again.

I was so excited when I saw that a new Bar B Q place was opened around the corner from my job. I stopped by and ordered the large rib tips lunch for over $14, hoping to have left over. Was not large and over priced. Anyway , I was disappointed as the meat tasted like fuel and literally made me sick. I have no intention of going back there.

Barbecue on point. This place has an extensive menu with with a variety of both meats and sides. The owner advised me that all sauces are house made and slow cooked. It was apparent... They were delicious! Ill be back! Oh... I had the jerked chicken and rib tips as a combo with a side of pintos with rice and turnip and mustard greens...

I was looking for smothered pork chops.. I havent had them in years.. My fiance mentioned that we havent tried Honey Bays. I am so damn happy with my food. The Mac n cheese was awesome my pork chop was perfect the gravy is outstanding. And the catfish steaks and greens were just fantastic. Im so happy. I will order from here again.

we ordered rib tips for some guys at work and they were terrible. way too smokey. imagine, inhaling campfire smoke and thats all you taste and smell for the rest of the day. the guys couldnt even finish their food.

Sadly, its one of the most disappointing BBQ experiences Ive had. I had a dried out (reheated) brisket dinner and a terrible sausage sandwich. Wont be back.

The bbq ribs were average. That Mississippi hot link with coleslaw was EVERYTHING! I felt the cost overshadowed the quality of the product.
