My complaint involves two women who clear plates from the tables and get non-water refills, and a manager. Two weeks before the time I was treated so badly, the "server" (aka busser) assigned to my table did not clear away my plates and took so long to get the coffee that I left without having any. Accordingly, I did not tip her for busing the table or getting coffee (as she did neither). Two weeks later, as I was approaching the cashier (no one having asked me what drink I wanted),the woman who had lapsed so two years earlier said something to the hostess, who replied in a hushed tone, "Dont worry about." Suspecting that my former server had told the hostess, "Dont sit him in my section; he didnt tip me before." Sure enough, I was seated to a particular table (and only that table) that was next to but not in the servers section. For obvious reasons, I did not feel comfortable. So I told the manager what I strongly suspected had happened. A few minutes later, I saw him talking to my former server for too long for me to have been wrong about her. But the manager did not get back to me; nor did he say anything as I walked past later on my way out. Furthermore, it soon became obvious that my current server, who was supposed to clear my plates and refill my drink, was doing neither. "The word is out!" I said to another customer. He agreed, and said, "the manager should have said, dont worry. I took care of it. Your dinner today is on us, but he said nothing, either out of greed or perhaps believing a lie by the woman with whom he had spoken. I went to the bathroom to refill my water. When I returned, I saw a tray left on my table! Even if it had been left by a customer, my busser should at least have removed it. "I guess Ill have to have dessert standing up!" I said to the witnessing customer. I put my three used plates on the table next to mine (the people had just left). The plates were cleared within five minutes! Amazing how that worked wonders! (no, she didnt realize the plates were mine). Another witnessing customer suggested that I have the gray-haired manager see my table. By then, I had had enough and only wanted to leave. No, I did not tip the 45ish woman who had refused to bus my table out of childish spite or retribution (as ordered by my former server, perhaps). As I was leaving, one of the witnessing customers said, "The manager should at least have come to your table to say, Sorry for the trouble. The dinner is on us. See the cashier on your way out for your refund." In that single observation, I glimpsed the huge gap between the mentality at that Golden Corral and the enlightened self-interest evinced at restaurants with some class.

Unfortunately we travel from Atlanta to Rockford about 10 times per year on business and each time we come here because of the salad and veggies. The fried chicken, fried shrimp and fried butterfly shrimp were always too hard and usually taste a bit like old grease. All bad this time as well.. The salad was very good as usual. The place is a tab junkie as always and the ribs were too dry. Today, The front counter hostess was pleasant but the only thing that made it not as unpleasant was the quality customer service we received from our guest services rep. He constantly cleaned his area. We watched him greet the guest in his section. He cleared our table as he saw necessary and we are highly satisfied with his level of customer care. He wore his uniform neatly and his name tag visibly reads Devonte. I am proud to see that this young man takes pride in his uniform because he is wearing an undershirt beneath his white dress shirt. Kudos Devonte...Great Job!!! It appears that the restroom needs to be checked more frequently because each time I come, they always need some form of care.

I thought that a few reviewers were being unkind to this establishment but I was stopped in my tracks byy own expierence, on saturday being here for the weekend I decided to lunch here made my selection and sat down to eat picked up my breast of chicken to cut into it and it was coverd in feathers , I discreetly askedy server to call a manager over as soon as I showed it to her she just picked them off and dissappeared with the plate only toreturn later saying they had replaced the batch and she actually said she did not see what the fuss was about as chicken has feathers, those were her exact words ,oh and she also said they do not do refunds not that I needed one as I had lost my appetite listening to a server who saw it ranting about that hapening too much and gave that as,her reason for not eating chicken there , shocking

Arrived just a few minutes before 4:00 for early bird senior special. Asked waitress to ring me up immediately. But she had to do drinks for us and people behind us first. Finally rang us up, and their computer said it was past 4:00 so no special prices. Our cell phone and the cell phone of the person behind us both said it was still before 4:00. Asked manager to adjust price, but he refused. Not good customer relations. We usually enjoy this buffet, but were very unhappy about the way this was handled.

It doesnt seem as though they care whether the food is good or not. The carpet should be removed because it looks very nasty and the bathrooms are nasty. I was surprised to see someone (A worker) with a temp tester in the food testing its temp. Maybe they should change the grease more often. I dont know why we go everutime we are in town. I guess hoping it will get better but foe $35.00 for 2 people is not good for food that is not enjoyable. The oatmeal cookies were good but I didnt eat $35 worth.

I wish I had something better than 2 stars. Unfortunately this is the last time I will be visiting here. Food is left out and gets that hard formed surface when its not touched. My server was running around because if Im correct someone called in and in her defense she did awesome considering everything. I do believe there is a lack of TRUE upper Mgmnt presence there. I would see him walk out and walk past stuff on the floor or see something a mess and not even offer to help this girl.

Golden Corral has made a return customer out of me. After not eating at a buffet style place for over 4 years, I was pleased at the huge selection, the standards of cleanliness were held above and beyond. The staff was attentive and the service exceptional. This is an awesome place to take my smaller children, the variety of options make it easy to offer all the food groups and reward with a fun dessert!

My sister and I use to frequent Golden Corral 2-3 times a month. Well, not any more. I drink tea and I bring my own tea bags. I cannot believe GC charged me $2.39 for a cup of hot water!!! Well guess what!! Golden Corral has lost two customers. I have never been charged anything at any restaurant for hot water. My sister and will never step foot in your establishment again.
