For a long time, I used to pass by the restaurant and compared to all the other restaurants on Devon, this particular one is ALWAYS crowded. It was not until years later that I actually stopped by en route home on the 155 Devon bus. The menu may have been simple but there were a few items I was not familiar with, so I asked the boy at the counter what he would recommend. It was to be the beginning of my status as a regular customer. THIS IS A RESTAURANT THAT DOES NOT NEED A FANCY AND EXOTIC NAME TO LURE CUSTOMERS!!! The Frontier Chicken Rice is truly a heavenly dish especially teamed with the Chicken Bhoti. Everyone I had ever introduced the dish to would agree instantly (except for my husband because I think the dish is a little too spicy.) I also found it funny that when I did ask for them to make it a tad milder, the man (which I can only assume may have been one of the owners) replied with a, "This is Pakistani food." Enough said yeah? Well, that iss probably why I would also add an order of the onion roti (which is pretty much a type of naan). I doubt anyone can ever go wrong ordering just about anything on the menu. As for the service, the many times I had been there on my own for a take out order, the men were not too friendly, but neither were they rude. They are mostly Muslims and I did not feel offended because I grew up with similar surrouding. The wait was not torture and for the good food that was to come, I would not have minded waiting an extra 10 minutes. I have had to move to Kansas and if it were not for that, I would still be a frequent customer there. In fact, it is one of the things I really miss about Chicago! Oh, and the meat are all HALAL. SCORE!!!

Khan BBQ is a disappointment. A long time ago the place was just called Khan Restaurant and it was fine. Its terrible now. Lets start with the design. Absolutely tacky. Pink walls, ugly tables--dont bring someone youre trying to impress here. Its dirty and the lighting is unreasonably bright and awkward. There are random paintings on the wall that dont match anything. The bathroom is bad too--locks dont work properly. We were here with a large group once and couldnt decide what to eat. When we eventually decided, the waiter told us we had to order more food because it wouldnt be enough for us. We told him we didnt want anymore and were just eating light, but he kept on arguing with us. He was not friendly at all. We made the mistake of giving this place another chance...we had a different waiter but he did the exact same thing. He argued again and said we werent ordering enough food, even though we had ordered more than enough and assured him we knew our own diets better than him. I dont know if that is how they train their waiters, but it is one odd tactic and the waiters were very condescending. The waiter also dipped his finger in the food when he brought it to our table. The food is not terrible. But why go here when there are so many other good Pakistani-Indian restaurants with better service, better prices, and food that is just as good, right down the street? Dont upset yourself by going here.

I keep going to this joint and now honestly i am obsessed. If i am in town, i have to have food at Khana Khzana. In last couple of months, they made significant changes to their interior. Food is excellent as always, Palak/Saag Paneer and Chicken Tikka Masala are my all time favorites along with Garlic Naan and Samosa. (4 for $3, cant go wrong!). I am very choosy eater but this place has all it takes to get my business! Great customer service (The owner, i tell you, is a beast when it comes to customer service, you can talk to him about anything and this guy can make an interesting and thoughtful converstation), great food, great ambiance! They were slammed Thursday night, still this guy made sure all the guests were served in a timely manner. He was offering guests Mango Lassi on the house just because they were waiting! Highly recommend this place, best in town, no doubt!

I would not give even one star if i had option it should be like in negative... this restaurant is like a mole on Devon... where you can buy food poison with money... dont worry you will get food poison on the spot and have to use the rest room immediately... all food are antique mixed with poisons. so you only pay for the food but the posisin is complimentary on the house.. so if you have any enemy who you dont like take him or her to this restaurent and orfer somthing and see the result. Mirza the waitier i guess from hydrabad is one person who has sugar knife and he will desperately serve the poison to you.he will insist for kheer and that kheer has poison be aware its a big red flag.he will twist ur brain and watch your every single move to obseve if the effect of taken place.Mirza is getting some commision for selling this poison. Guyz be aware of food poisoning.

They thug people in the name of GT ( service tax ) apart from sales Tax. They got to mention about the GT conditions on the menu. ( The Number of people needed in the group ) Im really sorry its not about the extra money, its about the cheating they are practicing to get money from customers. I would recommend group customers ( even if are four) to ask them about the taxes applicable before in hand. And make sure to collect the bill which displays clearly about the taxes. So that u can save ur money. According to Illinois restaurant policy 18 percent service (GT) tax is applicable to the bill for parties of six or more.

Service here is terrible. Took them 15 minutes after we seated ourselves for someone to come and take our order. We were brought warm water (which I guess is a cultural thing with some restaurants on Devon) and the plates were dirty with a hair on one of them. After the food was brought out no one checked on us at all. I had to get up twice, once to ask for more water and again to ask for to-go boxes. When we got to the register they felt it was okay to charge us a 15% gratuity. Food was just above "meh" quality. Id avoid this place like the plague. Theres nothing here but a bunch of "Khan" artists.

I had Hair in my food. Call waiter and saw him. He went to talk to owner. Owner send him in kitchen and ignore us. After finished food pay the bill. We went to owner and talk about hair in food. All he said that happened some time. when you eat at home dont you get hair in food. We were shocked. We did not expect this kind of answer. No Apology or Sorry. I told him you never see us in you Restaurant again. Worst Restaurant.

At first look, I felt a bit awkward on entering the establishment without changing into a burka first, however, my suspicions were put to rest when I was treated the same as everyone else. Some of the banners on the walls were intimidating. I felt the service had a slighty rude tone. Food was tasty but I felt a bit queasy afterwards. Not very clean. My mom enjoyed her bhindi and palak daal. The decor was dull and tasteless.
