Sushi and Hibatchi...all you can eat buffet. Sushi was blah, no flavor and all you could get was the pre-made rolls. No sashimi (which they advertise) and no actual sushi (with the fish and rice underneath). I asked if they could make some of the sushi with rice and they pointed to what was on the trays. Other food that was available was traditional asian fair, catering more towards the asian crowd. Not much traditional chinese food. The Hibatchi grill was ok at best. The meat was a frozen block and had to be "broken" out to put onto plate. Veggies were fresh, but overall taste was still blah. Price is ok at $14.00, but I went there for the sushi and really, there wasnt any sushi there. The only other thing that I will comment on, is that the staff does NOT speak any english.

Awful. And $53 for 4yo, 11yo, and 2 adults! At first sight it looked good. Clean and had a large selection. BUT. The sushi k actually a couple kinds of rolls) very little fish, and was warm. The good that should have been hot, was only slightly warmer than the sushi. Even the usual savior of desserts was a fail. The chocolate pudding had a funky sour taste, the cakes werent any better. So bad The kids wouldnt even eat the desserts. One kid said the pizza was ok. The almond cookies, and the mango were great. Ha. Then the check came. $13 ea. For adult. I was thinking it was bad at $8-$10. Just wanted cheap Chinese food. Can go to Tsukasa, or Hanakawa for this price.

Came here while visiting on our trip to IL. While the place was clean the buffet stations could have used some attention. For the size of the restaurant I expected much more selection. The food was like warm or cold, rice on the sushi was dried out, hibachi wasnt on.....Between the 4 of us we tried almost everything and the consistent opinion was that this place is far below average. I would not have wasted $12/person for food that was mediocre at best. I only gave it 2 stars because our server was very polite and attentative.

The food was fair. The hibachi grill was good, but the best thing was the ice cream. One of the waitress demanded a tip, stating I forgot it and needed to give 20%. I asked her why am I leaving a tip and she seemed confused. Maam you didnt bring our drinks or wait on our table(its a buffet), and you never offered to refill our drinks, the only thing you did was bring the bill. I did not forget the tip, I dont feel like a tip was necessary.

The worst buffet ever!! Quality of food is really bad, not fresh, and taste terrible, too salty and greasy too!! My daughter and I both got stomach flu after dinner there last week, and then a friend of mine told me she got sick with serious stomach pain right after lunch there last Friday, thats why I want to write this review to warn everyone: do not go there because of low price, youll regret!!!!

I had to call Mundelein Police because the owner over charged me by $ 60 he said our gift card was not good and demanded payment I paid him cash and so my wife called the gift card to find out what happened they told her that the full amount was charged by empire buffet so we told him and he said no so we called the police and they where able to get my money back be careful the guy is a CROOK

Came here on a Saturday night.. Food was so so, and typical of a Chinese buffet. There were many trays that were empty, and the food options that were available seemed a bit picked over. Sushi was decent, and Hibatchi was ok. The waitresses were not very quick to change out plates at the table. In a pinch, its OK to come here, but certainly not the best for Chinese food.

Not recommended if you have kids! My son got yelled at by the owner after he screamed from bumping his head on the table. He called him a word that we dont use at home as its offensive, mind you hes only 3, and told him to be quiet. The quality of the food is mediocre, the owner is rude and over charges if you have take out, not a lot of variety. Isnt worth the $12!

Only eat here Friday- Sunday because thats when they make the best food with flavor. If you go Monday- Thursday it will be the biggest disappointment ever. Im guessing they must have new cooks because the food dont taste how it use to. I just notice they are using a lot of grease to the point you can see the food swimming in it.

The waiter was disrespectful overall, I come here alot and I have never seen bad service like this. She asked us to leave a tip and we were but we werent done eating she kept on asking until we got to the point were I called the manager because she was being REALLY pushy. The food is ok. But they should get better service.

The boss has no credit, lunch takeoff $ 4.49 a pound. I bought a pound should be $ 4.85, he received me $ 5.85! The reason is that I took the beans! Is it not in the lunch menu? Is not allowed to take it? So there is no integrity of the restaurant I still do not have to go!

I was not a fan of the food. I am not novice to Chinese buffets however this food was not up to par. The food was dry the fruit was tart and some seemed like it had spoiled or was on the verge of spoiling. The sushi was not cycled fast enough to stay fresh.

Always freshly cooked, nice quality and variety. I ate this place at least once a week. Nice owner and servers. They have the best shirmp and steam fish among Chinese resturant within 30 miles, also the best hot and sour soup.

We came towards the end of the night so some of the food looked like it had been there awhile. Overall not bad for a buffet. Staff was nice and on top of drink refills. I would revisit.

Waitress disrespectful , owner same way, food is old and not well kept. Ice cream had a sign that said water change in 10 min water was never changed in the 30min that I was there.

Great lunch price at $7.99! A nice selection of Chinese food and sushi for a buffet. Staff is friendly. Restaurant is spacious, clean, and nicely decorated.

Do not come around 3:00-4:00 PM. They will charge you for Lunch AND dinner. Food was OK, but was not worth paying twice the price
