Well I just came from a long day from Six Flags Great America and had a late lunch. I saw there was an Oberweis in Gurnee, IL and really had a craving for this delicious Ice Cream for desert hoping it would be the same in service and quality as the other locations in Chicago and suburbs. I have gone to mainly Skokie and Oak Park location and many others with both Great Service and great ice cream but this particular one kind of disappointed me in service and consistency of the ice cream I was expecting. Well one the server (I think her name was Cas on my receipt) took the order ok BUT it took them very long to deliver. I had the Banana Royal in traditional flavors and it took a while than usual. It was busy and saw some customers but it seemed that they were getting there orders of ice cream faster than my own order. I finally got my order just to notice my Banana Royal was NOT as big as I usually get it compared to Oak Park Location and Skokie as well as the others! This was the 1st time I notice the Banana Royal so small in size. I would recommend to have the service more attentive as well as the consistency of what is being served. I still would go to Oberweis however I would think twice if i had to go to this location with somewhat poor service and low consistency of the ice cream order I saw on the menu. i still like Oberweis but I would go to this Parlor last if not avoid it.

My experience here at their drive thru was one of the worst Ive ever had. I ordered two regular sized blueberry pie shakes; the guy immediately asked if I wanted to make them larger for an up charge. I politely declined, but then he proceeded to offer me about 3 additional add ons like carton of ice cream, and was very pushy about it. That kind of upwelling is really not what I want in a drive thru. Then, the shakes were almost 12 dollars altogether. Thats way too much for ice cream. The shakes were also disgusting--they were very very watery and very sour, not at all a good consistency for a milkshake. I would like to like this place because I work close by but I wont be coming back.

Its normal to run into bumps when bringing a service dog into food businesses, but after a day of a lil more grief than normal, Oberweiss relieved my stress and immediately made me feel comfortable, welcome, and even offered my lil guy a small bowl of vanilla soft serve. The chocolate ice cream is excellent, and even tho prices are a lil high, Ill indefinitely return for the customer service - for having felt like a guest rather than an inconvenience.

Thank you Oberweiss for helping me to stick to my diet in the future by providing such poor customer service ( overcharging me and then not giving me the correct money back- twice) and making a turtle sundae with zero caramel topping and the smallest amount of fudge topping Ive ever seen!!! I will not even be tempted to come back...waste of money, not worth the cost.

Oberweis is always a great option for some delicious ice cream or other treats. My suggestion is the brownie sundae with cookie dough ice cream. Amazing. This spot has ample seating and some tables if you want to play some chess while stuffing your face.

Poor service!! We had to wait 20min for our service after we paid and we ordered only two ice creams. Crew was walking with speed of turtle stuck in the mud !!! When you charge premium for an ice cream, you should provide premium service.
