Very disappointed in my visit here earlier tonight, brought my girlfriend family and friends, table off 12. Food was excellent, service sucked. It took 15 minutes to get a round off drinks and there were only for tables seated including ours. Apps came out quick and while we were initially served one wrong and one short, they fixed the issue quickly. Cleaning it up the waitress spilled soy sauce on my girlfriend and down into her purse, never even apologized, never brought anything to clean it up. Then basically stayed away from the table from that point onward. Another server tried taking over but didnt know who ordered what, final meal came and food was great. No-one cleared plates, no-one brought boxes. I even had to go to the bar to get another round of drinks. We stacked our own plates, then came the bills. They werent too badly messed up but there were a few issues. The manager told us she gave us 50 percent off for the spilt soy sauce, but in reality it was 12.50 off a 135.00 tab. I explained that its gonna cost more to replace the items but they didnt care. Told me to call the manager tomorrow. Total BS, I have never been so frustrated with service in my life.

I have been to Shogun many times across several different states, and I decided to try this one out and the first time was not up to par. The chef did a very mediocre job and the food was decent at least. This time, I went and decided to not return for several reasons. 1.) The chef was very boring and did the "bare minimum". He didnt chat much, did a whole 2 tricks (a third was attempted but failed) as opposed to the regular plethora of entertainment gags and shows of skill done by most other chefs Ive seen. 2.) The steak was disgusting. It wasnt cooked correctly, it was dry, and the flavor was practically absent. 3.) The "chefs special sushi" was overpriced. 8 pieces of sashimi and 6 pieces of a very small 1 fish roll on a plate costing an outstanding $24. This price included a 25% off sale on that day. The fish did not taste very fresh, and the roll was very bland and unappealing. I am honestly disgusted at the quality this shogun presented. If anyone representing this store would like to contact me, Id be more than happy to respond, because I have seen better from Shogun before and Id hate to maintain a stance of disgust toward one of the few local sushi places.

OK, so they dont "do" reservations even though its a party of 25/30 people... We get there, they refuse to seat us until we had 20 of our party.. so we are standing up front, blocking the front door because we had 19 people.. finally decide to start putting some tables together seeing we are demanding to sit together (after all, we are a party not individuals) we end up with 26 people, 1 waitress.... some of us got waited on some of us not so much.. ordered 2 apps, 1 came out 20 mins later and the other one 20 mins after that.. took almost 40 mins to get a drink.. Then when she finally decided to take our meal order another 30 min went by and here it comes thank goodness.. my husband and I ordered the Pad thai, me the beef with no egg and husband got the chicken with no onion.. she puts his in front of me and mine in front of him.. so we swap, no biggy... until we dig in.. his chicken pad thai had onion in it and my beef had egg in it.. Then we get the bill and because we were at a table with 24 other people but we all were paying separate, we were charge gratuity of 18%... This was my first and last time to this restaurant...

My sons, ages 12 and 7, really enjoy going to Shoguns. To help save $$, we go for lunch through the week because the meals are about half price. The chefs have been a lot of fun and focus on the kids when they are at a table. As for going as a couple, the past two times have been really nice. The food is delicious, though pricey, but its out of the norm, so its worth it. If sitting grill side isnt what youre interested in, the restaurant side is just as nice, and much quieter. The one complaint I have had is how the seating is done around the grill when there is a large group. Some people are placed on the edge and feel left out. I highly recommend making reservations for groups of more than 6.

I just got home from there tonight, it was my first time there and the food was not too bad. The service was horrible, our waitress was only at our table 3 times: to bring out drinks, take our order, and bring our food out. She did not ask how the food was, refill our drinks, etc...it was very poor on their end. also the party i went with said the food comes out really fast. they were not busy at all but it took them almost an hour for our sushi rolls to come out. common, all we did was order sushi rolls, it does not take that long to make...especially compared to all other places ive been before. overall, it was just ok. if the sushi wasnt 30% off, i would of deff. complained that it was overpriced.

On Thursday June 29th, 2017,we chose your restaurant in fairview heights, IL to celebrate my sons birthday. All was going well, we all had finished our meal, & was waiting for our change back, when one of your employees asked us if we minded getting up, due to he had people waiting to be seated. We responded with were waiting on our change, mind you we had just spent $200 in your facility! Needless to say we will not be back, & we will let everyone know how rude your employee was to even have the guts to ask paying custcomers to leave! Never in all our dining experiences, have we ever been asked to leave, whether were finished or not. WE ARE PAYING CUSTOMERS!!!

We have gone to Shogun several times. The prices are higher than the average local steak house, but the portions alone make it worth it, and the show is awesome. We have a great chef every time we go and they do their best to interact with the patrons and make it a fun experience. Have always had excellent service. The food is fresh and the atmosphere is clean and friendly. We are taking our 10 year old son for his birthday in a week...they do a dragon dance for your birthday! Best steak around and if youre a fan of sushi, some of the prettiest and freshest fish I have had at a local place. If offered a squirt of Sake...TAKE IT! This is a favorite for our family!

My wife and I go to hibachi grills for our anniversary every year since we started dating. This was our 5th go and we decided on shogun. Weve neen to osaka, kikus, and sakura in the past. Compared to those places, they were all 5s and this was a 4. Cheery host. Quiet server, quiet hibachi, food slightly undercooked, bathroom slightly disgusting. Prices were decent. Overall experience was slighy sub par. Definently not bad. But not as good as other experiences. We went on a sunday night
