Overall, this is a very nice Greek restaurant! This establishment is what was formerly Periyali Greek Taverna, and the interior has since been vastly improved. Some might say that Periyali was a bit dumpy on the inside, whereas this place is just SHARP (and very "Euro"). Great for meze! Now food-wise, I can say that the chicken souvlaki is probably the best I have ever had in my life. The meat was well-marinated and very tender. The fries were okay, the avgholemeno soup was more than satisfactory! So what did I not like? We got falafel (labeled on the menu as "revithokeftethes") and kalamari, both of which were disappointing. If it is falafel you want, DO NOT ORDER HERE, just go next door to Pita Inn for that. (Memo to management: get rid of the "revithokeftethes" for your own benefit!) Also I got a "Greek mule" like a Moscow mule, except with rakomelo instead of vodka. Not bad, just not the same. Of course, the crepes looked and smelled delicious, but unfortunately Ive yet to try them. Service was friendly but somewhat slow and unresponsive. All in all: INTERIOR: 5/5 FOOD & DRINK: 4/5 SERVICE: 4/5

My friend and I went there for lunch and it was one of the most beautiful experiences weve had visiting Chicago. The food was to die for and service was impeccable our server Fotis ( I might be saying his name wrong) but he was wonderful. The restaurant was clean, warm and inviting. The hostess said that they love catering to visitors. It was a great experience for us. The rainbow salad and the grilled chicken salad was amazing! We also order the skewers to GO for dinner that evening at the hotel. Two thumbs up to this place! LOVED IT!!!!

Even though we had a reservation we had to wait for more than an hour which I find quite unacceptable. The lady at the front was rude n top of that. Also we were celebrating a special occasion and we did mentioned this in the reservation but our request for a special table set or something saying "Happy Birthday!" was`t made for us... even a simple appropriate greeting ... Besides all the disappointments the food was good. Unfortunately this is not a reason to make me come back to the restaurant.

Do not ever go there with reservation, you will never be seated. We went 16 of us, with reservation made 3 weeks ago. We waited over an hour and 10 min after they seated 10 of us they moved us to another table, so hour later, starving with 2 regnant women we finally had our table. Forgot to mention that was in the middle of the week- Wednesday. Otherwise food is decent but I would say Mikonos, which is around the corner is way better, food amazing and they will never starve a pregnant woman

Great build out. A welcomed change to the Greek museum that was there before. The food is a unique twist on traditional Greek dining and the service is spot on without being overwhelming. The front of the house manager Dimitri makes you feel at home the second you arrive. I had the yogurt marinated chicken breast with grilled veggies. To good to put into words. Plateia also has the best selection of Greek wine Ive seen in the chicagoland area. A must see treat in the Glenview area.

Food is good, but if you reserve a table, God NO. You will have to wait for hours, they will sit people 20min before your reservation and than will excuse with "just those custoners have to get done and your table will be ready". We went there 16 of us and waited forever, customer service is ridiculous, management even worse. If you are in restaurant business you should be able to to at least manage how to reserve a table. Highly disappointed, will not step a food here

Went in for Sunday Lunch. Place was COLD (no Heating)! Ordered ANAMIKTI Salad, KALAMAKIA - Pork SKEWERS, SIGNATURE BURGER. Salad was good but Skewers and Burger tasted FROZEN. the Pork was Dry and I asked for Medium Rare on Burger but it was Medium Well Done. Would I go here again? NO ! I had Stomach. and When we were Walking out NO ONE said Thank you or Good Bye. They Stare at me and say nothing. Not Recommended!

The owner Demetri is so nice & always smiling, he makes you feel like a part of his family. Our waiter took care of us & got us in & out quickly because my friends & I had to pick up our kids from bible study, which our waiter (I cant remember his name for the life of me) totally understood. Food was awesome as usual & never a disappointment. You want great food, with great people this is the place for you!

I have been to many restaurants in the area including Italian, Greek, American diners, Chinese and I can absolutely say that Plateia is the best! Food is amazing along with wait staff. Other restaurants should really take notes of Plateias service and its wait staff. Their response time is fast even at busy times and lamb dishes are delicious along with other main courses.

It was busy.We had to wait but that is ok.Only think what I didnt like is my order.Last time I order a griled octopus and I got 2 peaces./about$16/.Now I got only ONE!!!my plate Looked Empty!!One piace for that money??The waiter said they weight first but before both of my peaces were bigger than this one!!!Kind of disappointed

I like the valet it really made a middle class man feel wanted, i figured the food would be great and I was right, but what surprised me was the tasty chilled cocktails bravo guys to finish my experience the owner came over to see if Im ok and offer me his favorite desert superb service thank you.

Was here at 10:30pm on a Monday. The place was still a bit busy, but the atmosphere was wonderful. Its a little utilitarian, if only because all the tables can be moved for a banquet area, but it still seems very homey. Food. Is. AMAZING. Service is good. Cant wait to be here during the day!

Exceptional meal all across the board. Appetizers were delicious, service was snappy and professional, and the entrees... Oh man the entrees were good! I got some type of grill dish that came with 5 different meats. Get the rice as a side! Will definitely return.

I went there with my family for my birthday. It was a nice night, the hostess was so kind so the was the manager. The waitress was the nicest one. The food delicious, everything is hot as it should be. We loved this place. More than a 100% recommend.

Overpriced food and arrogant management. They dont offer gyros, its beneath them. Give me a break, high priced, gourmet Greek food, NO SUCH THING. Went there for 20 years before Perikaly sold to these people, havent been back.

Great food all around. The staff is very friendly and always there to help you make choices. The ambiance is very nice. Their dining area is very laid back and their outdoor patio area is like being in Greece.

Service is absolutely terrible, managers dont say hi, theyre rude and they keep to themselves instead of being friendly. the food is delicious though, Ill give them that. Too bad the food is over expensive.
