Damn!! Finger licking good. Yes yes the lines were off the hook hella long!! But me personally I know how to talk to ppl and make the wait less boring. But I swear to God tho its worth ever mom. Her Mac n cheese is like Grandmas Touch. My Honet got the fried fish and was man he didnt order more. It was perfect . Chicken is better then mines tho.. Rice and gravy omg .. Yes the wait was long but it was worth every min.. .food was fresh and proportion was great!!

Decided to get the oxtails with yams and cabbage on 2/25/17. The food was cabbage was very salty and the oxtails where super oily. Also the cashier got upset after I asked a simple question. The other lady (who also worked there) made a slick comment after I paid. Dont work in customer service if you dont want people asking questions. I will not be going back. Save your money and taste buds.

Good food that reminds this southern girl of home cooked food. Ive been to several restaurants in chicago. This location is the best. Each time Ive frequented this place the food has been delish. My only complaint, limited selection of entrée. The food is served cafeteria style, but a waitress circles the floor. Its never busy which is a plus. Parking is also available.

The food looks good, my smothered pork chop, macaroni & cheese was really salty, the yams was stringy and didnt taste good. The only thing that tasted good was my corn muffins. I saw an employee bring a pan of food to the steam table and sweat was dripping off his head and face, just disgusting. Next time I want good soul food I would go to Morrisons.

The food is okay. Ladies that fix carry outs have the worst attitudes. The owner, a preacher, also has a bad attitude. He watches over the food and workers very closely. They are very stingy with the sides, even if you order a side order. They will slightly fill the cup.

My husband and I went there on Sunday o 3/20/16 The atmosphere was pleasant and the I told the hostess that the was our first time there so she show me the menu and the prices. I order the short ribs, and my husband order smother pork chops, it was good.

I paid $18.99 for a pot roast dinner and the meat was tough and not even fully cooked...attitudes are terrible. Questions were asked and couldnt even be answered. Will definitely think twice about coming here.
