Located at the edge of "trendy", Leghorn plays its cards right and serves up darn good chicken sandwiches in an edgy no frills spot that plays well with its neighbors. The menu is super limited and thats a good thing. Walk up, order, sit down and enjoy that chicken goodness. Im a spicy fan and Leghorn does NOT disappoint on the use of heat. Its right at the edge of painful goodness without making food inedible. Totally hits the mark for where spicy should be for a spice lover. The breading options are biscuit or bun. The bun stays together better and holds the flavors together, while the biscuit is a delicious homestyle biscuit full of buttery goodness. Theres no losing no matter which you choose. The sides options are plentiful in comparison to the main course and the numerous options let you round out your chicken sammich meal to your content. The sandwich itself is surprisingly filling but just one may not satisfy the hungriest of patrons. Note that this is a cash only spot.

Leghorn has a very casual and friendly vibe and I enjoyed dining there. I tried the pickle brined thigh on a biscuit, nashville hot breast on a bun, nori fries and green chile hush puppies. I especially enjoyed the nashville hot breast-- it had quite the kick and the breast was surprisingly moist. It also had the crunch I look for in a good chicken sandwich. I also enjoyed the green chile hush puppies. The dipping sauce for it was delicious and for being fried-- I didnt find them greasy at all. The nori fries were only O.K.-- they were good fries but the nori taste was faint and didnt seem to add much flavor-wise. It is a little pricey for what it is, but I think its still worth a try if youre looking for a good chicken sandwich and I would come back.

I had high hopes for this place. Let me say that it exceeded every one of my expectations. Leghorn is great for several reasons. First off, they are BYOB. This allows you to have a good meal along with a cheap drink. I ended up trying a few things on the menu. I got the chicken thigh sandwich on a biscuit. The biscuits are buttery and soft but hold up enough structure that they dont crumble under the weight of the chicken sandwich. The Nashville Hot, was spicy but not so much that you couldnt enjoy the flavor of the chicken. The sauce was also good but it was almost unnecessary because the meat was so tender and juicy that you could eat the sandwich without any sauce at all. You gotta appreciate that they are open on Sundays as well.

Ever since my life was blessed with Nashvilles Biscuit Love hot chicken, I have been wanting to find a spot like it in Chicago. Leghorn is located right next to that weird motel on Ohio (admit it, you think its creepy too), and it did not disappoint! I tried the Nashville hot thigh on homemade bun and devoured the thing in less than 5 minutes. Juicy, tender, and nicely flavored. The bf tried their special at the time, waffle hot chicken with maple syrup and bacon. That was legit, too. A little messy to eat, but we sort of asked of it when we decided to mesh a regular plate of breakfast items into a sandwich. The fries were alright. Do not recommend. Got me a little punch card, so its safe to say that I will return.

Everyone was friendly and food came fast. The decor was very comfortable and clean and it was nice to know that everything was fresh but the taste of the pickled brigh breast was almost intolerable. It was just way to salty, I left with my tongue feeling like I rubbed sand paper on it. The hush puppies were phenomenal and I like that they served mineral water but I just cant get passed the taste of the chicken. I know that they serve until they run out but I would of thought that being a Friday they would of really stocked up because they had already run out of chicken tenders and fries by 5:30pm.

I was recommended this place as the best chicken sandwich in Chicago. I was quite excited to try out the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. I ordered the hot chicken breast on a bun. The service was fast and staff was friendly. But the food was quite disappointing. The sandwich was bland and boring. It was expensive but you couldnt tell the quality was any better. The menu is smaller at this location than what is shown online and it is NOT cash-only as advertised. I left disappointed and wouldnt go back. Wendys has a better chicken sandwich for much less cost.

If you like fried chicken sandwiches (and cmon...who doesnt?), Leghorn Chicken is a great place to get your grub on. The biggest differentiator? You can choose between chicken breast OR chicken thigh! Most places have gone toward white meat only on their menus, but not here. My go to order here is the chicken thigh, Nashville hot, on a bun with tomato, lettuce, and rancho Verde sauce. The Nashville hot gives it enough of a kick without being overpowering, and the size of the chicken is pretty generous. Get a side of the fries or green chili hushpuppies.

Tried this new Fried Chicken Sandwich place with my son recently. It was great! They do one thing & they do it well. I tried the Nashville Hot Chicken Breast on a Biscuit. The Chicken was perfect, crispy on the outside & juicy on the inside. The heat from the hot sauce seemed to slowly build the whole time I was eating. By the time I was done my mouth was zinging. I tried the potato salad & it was also tasty. We got there at 12:15 & by 12:30 the place was packed. Its kind of a small space so consider going at off peak times.

The proliferation of fried chicken places on the West Side of Chicago is staggering, but Im not complaining! This place is the closest to my apartment, but sadly doesnt have my favorite fried chicken in the city. BUT, its crispy and tasty, and right down the street. The vibe is cool, but as to be expected with places that have just opened, its impossible to get a seat at peak times, so plan on carrying out. Also, get two orders of hush puppies because theyre the best ever, anywhere.

Id say at the time I went there cuz my local Chicago friend recommended this place after seeing me questioning why people like Chickfila that much, it tastes like the best one in Chicago. I mean, though Heralds was ok for their fried chicken but this one.... very soft and juicy inside, and crispy on the crust. Try - Breast on a house bun, Nashville hot, with ranch verde sauce and Wisconsin cheese (plus Lettuce and tomato). BYOB and just order more fried chicken at $5:)

Really great chicken! I had the Nashville Hot chicken breast on a biscuit with blue cheese dressing. Quite tasty and very complimentary flavors. The chicken was tender and juicy with just the right amount of tangy sauce. The biscuits were buttery, sweet & salty, which complimented the chicken really well. Service was friendly and quick too! I cant wait to go back to try more of the menu.

Super friendly environment. A bit on the pricy side for the amount you receive, but I did find it pretty delicious. I would recommend the Nashville Hot breast on a bun, with a side of Rancho Verde sauce. Nori fries were delicious, but I would pick the hush puppies over them. The biscuits are delicious and dense, and the blue cheese caramel butter takes it over the top.
