With a strong desire for some good Chinese food in the Bartlett area, I was hoping to find that in Bao Gourmet. I was definitely let down. The food options beyond the drive thru lane in Bartlett, are very limited. Ethnic foods in the area especially seem to be bastardized with american influence and not very well made or presented. The food was below par. The General Tsos Chicken was completely over battered and swimming in the nasty orange grease that one would expect a seasoned cook to drain before serving, the Mongolian beef was made with nasty little julienne pieces of dry, tough meat and random chop suey vegetables not any where even closely resembling something I would see at an average run of the mill strip mall chinese greasy spoon. My guess is that like the other restaurants that have failed in that spot, with the sub par food and operations, their doors may stay open another year or two, or at least until the bank roll vanishes.

I would have given this place 5 stars hands down. We went here because a friend recommended the Sesame Chicken. We got egg rolls, Sesame Chicken, Szechuan Beef and BBQ Pork Fried Rice. Taste wise everything was super delicious and would come back. However I wont order the Szechuan Beef ever again. When we ordered we asked for no onions for all dishes. Turns out that does not apply to the Szechuan Beef. I posted a pictured of it before and after and its identical. I picked out the 8 little pieces of Beef and turns out the dish is about 3% Celery, 88% Onions and 9% Beef. But the sauce is great. Needless to say its a waste of $10. Again this place has amazing flavor but just be careful what you order is more meat then onions.

We go here regularly before going across the parking lot to Oberweis for dessert. Their sweet bean Baos are the best around. Everything we have tried have enjoyed & their items are marked as to their spicy/heat level. Very helpful. Our only complaint is that they are inconsistent in giving their fortune cookies which is a big disappointment to the kids.

I ordered pizza online from pizza hut, waited an hour and then checked my email for a deliver time. Said 9:57pm a 5 hour wait. I called and they said they were behind due to bad weather. Cancelled order and called Bao. Had our order delivered 45 minutes after I placed the order. The food is always great and they have the best drivers. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Went and ordered sesame chicken for take out. Around 5 minutes later a couple came in and ordered the same thing. They gave them their food first even though I had been there longer and have been waiting. Now I wouldnt have had a problem of their food was different from mine, for they couldve still been making it.

Food is great but the lady who answers the phone is flipping rude. I placed an order for pickup and called her right back to change something I made a mistake on and I apologized and she freaking hung up on me! Are you kidding me? And we order from here at least once a week. Time for a new place.

Amazing, food was great! My boyfriend and I went here on valentines day when there was a snow storm and everything was closed. First time going they were very helpful. The lady told us if we get the orange chicken without broccoli you get more chicken ! Fast and very good customer service.

After trying all the others. Bao remains our favorite. Take out is quick and the fast casual style eat in dining is efficient and relaxed. Our favorites are the Vegetables lo mein, Chinese Broccoli and sweet and sour pork. The vege egg roll is fresh and light and never greasy.

We ordered Chicken Teriyaki,Lo Mein Combo, Fried Rice Combo the best one I ever taste.Thats for sure coz most of time when we stop to deliver we order Chinese food, I almost tasted Chinese food everywhere in the country and the Bao Chinese Gourmet is the best
