I have never felt so embarrassed in any restaurant as I have today at this place. Me and my family stop by the diner for dinner with my husband and 2 kids. I shouldve just turned around and leave after we arrived because it was red flags from the entrance. We stand at the front for about 5 to 10 minutes with waiters passing by us without even as much as a head nod. Finally a lady preparing to go orders offers to sit us in the back booth. She gives us menus and leave. We sat there for 25 minutes before my husband decided he had enough. There were 2 black haired waitress that came to the 2 booths behind us (twice)that had already finished their food to ask them how they were doing. My kids were so embarassed having to leave without ordering. When walking out my son said "mom we have never left a restaurant without food!" How EMBARRASSING! On my way out we bump into 2 couples coming in and told them dont bother their not busy but they dont need the business obviously. I look forward to hearing from a manager if this place truly believes on customer service. No one should make paying customers feel unwanted.

I usually dont have problems when I eat at Duluth Diner, but I also usually dine inside. I ordered lunch over the phone to pick up. Not only did they charge the wrong price (they said the prices on THIER website were wrong), but they got the order wrong and it was so cold I couldnt eat the onion rings. When I called to inform them the girl who answered said it took me 30 minutes to get there.....which is completely wrong as I work 5 minutes away. She never aplogized or anything. I waited on hold for at least 15 minutes to speak with a "manager" who told me to drive back up there and he would repalce my meal. At this point I didnt want the meal. I drove back up there to return the cold, wrong order to receive a refund. The "next best thing to a manager" would not refund my money and replaced my meal. Needless to say, I will not be going back to this place.

I live in the neighborhood near Duluth Diner and have been going there regularly since they opened. There is no other restaurant I would rather go to, unless its for something that DD doesnt serve (like sushi). Honestly, I have never been disappointed with any of the food they serve. The variety is amazing, like most diner menus, but the quality of the food is so much better than any other diner Ive been to locally. The staff is helpful, friendly, and engaging. If you want to make substitutions to your meal items, they gladly oblige - no attitude at all. There is always a coupon in the local mailers, which is nice. The owners are always around and often engage in conversation with the patrons. Thats the kind of place I like to go, where it feels more personal and less like a "food factory" cranking out generic menu items.

I am a sales representative and thus am I a lot on the road. I depend highly on places that are around me, when I am on location working. Let me tell you something, the place is not a franchise. Which is a huge plus, their breakfast platter?! Its insanely good and I do mean that sincerely. They offer a huge menu and what you order comes fast and abundant. Their big breakfast consist of 2 eggs, stack of to die for pancakes (better than IHOP) hashbrown casserole, pita bread, huge sausage pattie and I do mean a huge plate. All that for 10usd. Its worth the drive, service is lightning fast and proper. You need to try it, its hard to find a place that is not franchised. Its quality shows..

We have been staunch supporters of Duluth Diner for 5 years until today. Restaurant nor kitchen were staffed properly so we waited a long time for watered down coffee, an order that we had to return, which then sat for 10 more minutes with no service. We finally left after 45 minutes and little hope that we would get our food. My husband went back to get his umbrella an hour later and the waitress was making excuses and snide remarks when she saw him come in which she thought nobody would hear. Either the management has changed hands, or they are having trouble hiring the right people and training them. It used to be a great place to go.

Went by to try on a Saturday for late breakfast. Little wait which is fine. Booth cleared but no one was seated. Group of three came in, looked around, saw the booth and sat in it. Hostess wasnt around when they came in. There were two other parties waiting to sit. Even saw the waitress surprised to see them there when they flagged her. Decided to leave then as we were already waiting 10 minutes. We tell the hostess since she came back and told us they had reservations. Not sure what kind of reservations allow you to skip the hostess and just jump into whatever open booth you like, but lost a customer that probably wouldve come often.

This is my second favorite place to go in the area. The service has always been more than wonderful. There has only been one time I have went and was slightly disappointed in the food-- that was with the Catfish. The breakfast [served all day] is always great, as well as traditional burger and fries, etc. The menu here is huge, so you have plenty to pick from. And the oh so decedent desert counter they have is to die for. They always have at least 6 or more cakes to choose from, and the pieces fill up an entire plate. While this may or may not become your favorite spot in time, it certainly gives local restaurants a good name. A+

My mom and I have been coming here for over 10 years. Its always been our go to place. In the past year it has gone downhill. Today was the nail in the coffin. Slow service, waitress didnt know anything about the specials and wasnt willing to go ask. The walls were filthy. There wasnt any tp in the ladies room (even after I told the waitress). The waitress spent most of her time sweeping the floor right at our table with a nasty broom and kept slamming the broom into the dustpan. Food was cold and extremely unflavorful. Which is not normal for this place.

Duluth Diner is my absolute favorite place to eat! The food is always so good.. never have I once been disappointed.. everything down to the cole slaw rocks my world. My girlfriend and I go at least once a week.. the lovely people working at Duluth diner treat us like guests in their home.. We recently moved out of state but still absolutely must make frequent trips to Duluth Diner. Im telling you.. those cheeseburgers are the best ive ever had! I cant believe such a small modest place could end up being My place. But.. Duluth Diner is my place.

You may get large portions but you also get hit with large charges for a slice of cheese ($1), a side of honey mustard ($1). They always over-charge on drinks. Kids meals come with a drink but they always slide it on the bill. Since we have noticed more and more charges on our bill for stuff tonight was our last visit. We had a kids pasta, one baked potato, side of brocolli with cheese, a tuna fish sandwich and a side of salad and one drink.Total $31.00. We will NOT be back.
