Poor service, cramped location, and bad food. First: The venue - seats/booths are cramped, uncomfortable. However, this is not factored into my rating, as I was well-aware of the size before I walked in. Second: Our food was terrible! Overcooked (it tasted like it was reheated) shrimp... We ordered an entree we have ordered twice and loved it at the Pcola beach location (the food is great there!). The mahi mahi ensenada was breaded/fried fish that tasted like a fish stick. Wed always received it grilled before this. When we questioned it, we just got an excuse that we didnt specified wed prefer it grilled. They did tell us it was baked (I highly doubt that, when the other mahi on the menu is fried) There was no offer to fix it. Third: We were overcharged on our bill. When we questioned that, it was again directed back at us that it was our fault, even though it was them that screwed up our order... They even went so much telling us that we ordered a special substitution that they "graciously" didnt charge us for... They said the ensenada is only offered as a pork dish, and they gave us the mahi fish sticks without charging for it. (the menu clearly states: "...perfectly seasoned pork tenderloin, jumbo shrimp OR mahi mahi...") All in all, terrible customer service on top of sub par food. What makes it inexcusable to me is that there was never any attempt at fixing anything... only excuses. We wont be visiting this location again. Whether its better staff or what, I dont know, its worth the trip to the beach if youre in the mood for cali-mexican fare.

My wife and I went to Cactus Flower in Pace on Saturday, March 25th, about 5:30 p.m. it was fairly crowded (as expected) and we were told that there would be a short wait. The hostess wanted my phone number to text me when our table would be ready. I declined and told her that she could just look out the door and and ask for "Dan". I asked about an empty table that we could plainly see and she told me that that table had to be used for a bigger group(it was a six top). When I remarked that many booths and four tops only had two patrons, she still refused us the table. We went to El Patron down the street and got a fabulous meal. Cactus Flower almost had our business. I wonder if the six top was filled... The hostess does not need to text me when my table is ready. She can easily walk from her station to the door (about three feet) open it and call my name. In case anyone is wondering, El Patron has excellent service, atmosphere, food and its reasonably priced.

So Ill start with the good. The chips, salsa, and queso is probably the best Ive ever had. Thats about all the good I can say. Went today at lunch for the first time. The place is super small. Theyve crammed a lot of tables in a very small space and it feels extremely cramped. We did get seated right away but if wed walked in within another 5-10 minutes, we wouldnt have. The service was ok but it appeared they have a very small service staff (which makes sense). The server definitely tried but it was very slow. I had the pork wrap and it, and the sides, were bland. Nothing really had any taste. No flavors stuck out at all. Im not even sure they used any salt and pepper. Ill try it again but for the main courses, La Hacienda definitely has them beat hands down. For the chips, salsa, and cheese dip, this place wins.

Food: 7/10 Service: 3/10 09/25/16 was my third, and last visit to the pace location Cactus flower. My wife and I being in our mid 20s are used to subpar service due to age discrimination, but Cactus Flower takes it to a new level. You can see the waiters talking about customers behind the low wall in the back. Also, be prepared to eat bottom of the bag chips that are about the size of a penny. Note to the owner: If you are trying to bring in "higher end" customers, maybe consider spending more on your seating. I have sat in more comfortable seats at the DMV. You could literally feel the structure under the foam of the booth seating. I will keep an eye on Cactus flower for improvements and give them another chance if changes are made.

Cactus Flower is always a great choice. There are 3 locations in the area. This is a small store that you might miss if you dont pay attention. Although the food is still tasty, todays experience was mediocre with slightly overcooked beef that was a bit dry. The Santa Fe sauce which is normally superb was a bit watery (enough that it either got water in it by mistake or separated). This was just one experience, it may not be the norm here as it does seem they try to maintain consistency among the 3 stores (which is normally very good). They do offer lunch and dinner potions and the food is reasonably priced.

Absolutely LOVE this place! I have been coming since 2010, originally at their Pensacola location, though I was SO EXCITED they opened a location in Pace. The food is excellent ( and has not gone downhill over time, in fact it keeps getting better! ) I highly suggest the chicken tortilla soup (medium is not too spocy, and I normally dont like spice), and the chicken quesadilla! The fresh salsa and chips are amazing, and the huge burritos never disappoint! Great service, friendly atmosphere! Come hungry!

Very nice atmosphere, clean, fresh. We were quickly greeted and shown to a nice booth by a large window. Nice stylish, background music. The homemade chips and homemade salsa were presented. Or waitress, Miss Cynthia was cordial and professional. The chips were warm, the salsa an excellent balance of tomatoes, cilantro, and lime. The SoCal Burrito was excellent. The "standard" burrito was quite tasty as well. A very pleasant, lunch experience. Highly recommended.

I want to give them 5 stars on the taste of their food but 4 on their availability of food. They ran out of shrimp and 1 other menu item. The menu lists what is "available" yet when I asked the waitress certain entrees were only available on certain days and she said the manager/owner does that in case they run out of a certain food or want to switch meal days. This place was very clean and I will return but Ill try lunch next time in hopes of having a full menu.

This a smaller storefront than the other Cactus Flowers in town, but the food is great and serving sizes are still large. If you looking for SoCal/Baja type Mexican food, this is the place you want to be. The smaller location means that there is no bar to sit at (drinks are still available) and you may have to wait a bit for a table at peak times, but in my experience it is worth a few minutes.

Even though this restaurant is small compared to the other Cactus Flowers, they provide the same great food and service! In time, Im sure they will re-locate to a larger space. Lets keep supporting this awesome restaurant so that can happen!! When my son was visiting from San Francisco, he absolutely loved the service and the food! You know what is available in the Bay Area!!
