On February 4, 2016, I placed a to go order at the Bento near UCF in Orlando. Per my recipe, I ordered a 4 pc Caliente roll and a lean mean from an April B. When the food arrived back to my office, I realized my order was wrong. We could not back it back to Bento due to work obligations; therefore, I decided to call. A young man that didnt give his name took my call and I explain to him that my to-go was incorrect. He asked if I wanted a "store credit or something." I said I expected something due to the error. He asked what my original order and told me he would talk to the manager after he had already placed me on hold to assist another customer. He left the phone and came back shortly after and asked had I received the 4 pc Caliente. I said I had. He then informed me that the Lean Mean had been discontinued, so the order for the lean green was placed instead. I asked why hadnt the young lady told me that; he said he didnt know because he didnt take my order and I wasnt his customer. He also said "oh well, theres nothing we can do about it now." After $15 at this establishment and another $10 at another establishment for more viable lunch, yes there is something that needs to be done about this. I visit this Bento weekly and we discontinue patronage until I receive some sort of refund for this mistake on April B and the entire staff at Bento for this error on them. Not informing a customer, that has an allergy to cucumber, that an option had been discontinued and replacing it with roll that was full of cucumber is unacceptable. It would have been a lawsuit had I even ate it because of my allergy. This behavior is unacceptable and your employees should be better informed about the menu options so that mistakes like these dont happen again.

I highly recommend trying any of the 9 Bento Cafe locations (7 current & 2 coming soon). The sushi is always fresh, there are plenty of non-sushi menu options, and everything is reasonable priced. Bento Cafe has long been one of my favorite places in Orlando to get my sushi fix. Ive long been a customer at their Dr. Phillips location, recently visited their UCF area location for lunch. It is my experience that significant differences (between locations) in customer service, food quality, atmosphere, cleanliness, etc. can occur. This is NOT the case for Bento Cafe. Their UCF area location matches and (in some areas) exceeds their Dr. Phillips location. The service was incredibly friendly, helpful, and timely (despite the large crowds). The food was excellent per usual. I got a spicy tuna roll, cucumber roll, and tofu pad Thai noodle bowl. Both rolls (8 pieces each) were more than filling. The noodle bowl ended up going home with me for dinner. The 2 rolls and noodle bowl ended up costing around $20, which is incredibly reasonable.

The only reason this place wasnt given 5 stars is because of the lack of customer service from the manager. I ordered 2 rolls and was given 1..no big deal right? But when presented to the manager she disregarded the fact that I wasnt given the roll because I didnt pay for it. Granted she was correct the cashier made it seem like it was on the bill. The bill was $40 so I didnt think twice that it wasnt on there. When the manager came back she was arrogant and tried to make it sound as if it was my fault. The only reason Im going to go back is because of the bartender Ryan who by the way should be the manager... He gave me an amazing customer experience and ended up telling his manager about how I felt and finally was given a $10 gift card. I could care less about $10 but its the principle. Ryan is an employee that you should value because I offered him a job. Great job Ryan and the food was very good!!

Delicious food, fast. The counter ordering style means this isnt exactly a fancy sushi restaurant vibe, but we still thoroughly enjoyed everything. The quality of the raw fish was very good, and the $15 lobster roll contained, literally, an entire lobster tail. Im fairly picky about my seafood--fresh, high-quality, well cooked--and I was fairly impressed. I cant speak to all the sushi, but the higher end rolls are comparable in both price and quality to those in good sushi restaurants in the area. There are tons of menu items, so you can get something for almost any taste, the portions are better than expected, and the service was quite snappy. Compared to similar items ordered at the local Kyoto, this is a fly-away winner.

Pros: Not crazy overpriced, has a build your own sushi roll option, $9/10/11 dollar options for sushi bowls (1 meat, add a dollar for 2 meats, add another dollar for 3 meats) and the bowls are on the larger side, soup/noodle bowls arent tiny either. Cons: Employees are mostly college students. That in itself isnt the bad part, it is the part where they always appear to not want the job. I get that this may not be exciting and it probably is just a paycheck - weve all been there before. Basically, the service is on par with Wal-Mart employees levels of enthusiasm: lacking any sense of care or empathy and lacking any energy.

Counter girls will tip them selves with your money, mangers wont care and will say sorry about that. My friend owns a business and offers food or some compensation for THEFT. This place will steal your money, check your bank account. Dont bother complaining they are all kids here, They roll their eyes and act snobby. HIRE PEOPLE WITH MORALS AND INTEGRITY ! I ate here 3 times a week on lunch break, Now NEVER AGAIN.

The food options here are good, as are the prices. I enjoy the mix of different bowl options as well as all of the sushi types--you can choose based on your mood, which makes stopping in very appealing. The only thing I dont like as much is the decor of this location: its got a very cafeteria-like feel. It makes sense since its across from UCF, but I think the classiness of the one downtown brings it up a notch.

I wouldnt go as far as saying the food here is awesome, but Bento Cafe does serve decent Asian Fusion cuisine. Despite being quite large and spacious, seating can be limited during the busiest lunch hours, so you might spend a few minutes hunting down a table. The food comes out quickly, and theres a lot to choose from. Ive only had the bento boxes, which came with a lot of food for around $10.

First time order and definitely the last time. Firecracker roll is awful. Not a grain of salt and loaded with sugar. I had to double check it I ordered low sodium roll or similar. Gucci roll supposed to be shrimp tempura however I could not even find any shrimp not sure what it was. Spicy tuna roll was just ok. Overpriced tasteless. $35 food ended up in trash I just could not eat it.

I go here a lot. Their food is usually very good, although frequently inconsistent. Sometimes the sushi comes out small, has less toppings than usual, or they skimp on the fillings. Other times the sushi is perfect, and is worth what you pay for. Usually, I find that to go orders tend to have smaller sushi, and eating at the restaurant you get much more food for the price.
