I am very saddened about writing this review, but unfortunately I am compelled to do so. After 5+ years, the decision to do so was not a frivolous one. Fair Warning! I live down the street and have frequented and steadily ordered from NY Bagel. I used to order once a week, that dwindled to maybe once a month. There was a time, in the beginning, when I raved about the place. In the past I have always tried to “give ‘em another chance” because of one of the owners, who I felt was a particularly very nice person and the menu items I favored were quite good. I don’t know what’s happened. The last year or so, I have stood in line and witnessed the rude behavior increase towards customers and last time the rudeness towards me crossed the line. Due to the downward spiral in service, I began to limit my ordering to delivery on those mornings after returning late from out of town trips as I travel a lot on business and pleasure. The last 9 out of 10 orders I placed were all disasters. The staff has been incompetent and rude. The worst is that the owners do nothing to fix it, they actually turn a blind eye and deaf ear or condone it! This last time was a full on disaster. The person that took my order called me back twice because she stated my card was declined After a couple of more phone calls and a second person having to get involved, they finally got it correct only after I had to repeat the same CC info about a dozen times and they finally sent out the order. Meanwhile, I could hear people in the background on the other end as they were reading back my CC info in a very loud voice, within ear shot of anyone that might be standing right by the front counter. Not smart at all. I ordered a soup, a salad, for which I asked to switch dressings, and 2 plain everything bagels. Simple, right?? When it arrived, they forgot to send the salad. I called back and the girl stated that she thought I just wanted the dressing and had canceled the salad!! No, I’m not joking!! Recap so far, 1 soup, 2 plain bagels and 2 side cups of dressing, no salad. $17 and incompetent service to boot. When I called, one of the owners apologized and he offered to the send the salad and deduct the price of the dressings from the charge of the salad he was sending. When I questioned the high charge for a soup and 2 bagels, the female owner had her rudest employee, tell me over the phone that they were going to credit everything and not deliver to me again. I have known these people for several years and their level of customer service has hit an all time low. I have personally witnessed the downright rude behavior towards customers. One time, the owner questioned an employee about an incident and the rude employee actually raised her voice at the owner ... that speaks volumes! Another time an elderly patron came from the back dining area to grab some napkins from the counter. The employee taking orders reprimanded him by staring at him and commenting, “Thats not cute”! The gentleman was confused and the employee told him not to grab napkins from the counter. When he stated there were none in the dining area, she snapped back that she was sure there were, but regardless, he shouldve told one of the employees before taking some from the order counter. WTF??? I stood there speechless! Happy customers are essential to a business and as much as I did enjoy certain items on their menu, I had already limited my patronage and when competition opens in the neighborhood...and it will, they will lose a lot of business, even if their food is competitive, simply because of their horrendously lousy customer service. It doesn’t matter how good a restaurants food is, if it is not served up with a genuine concern for the customers satisfaction. Unless youre a glutton for punishment as it seems I was for the last five years. Steer clear. Most people would rather go to the place that serves good food with fabulous customer service than the place that serves great food with lousy customer service. #foodforthought #readyourreviews

My wife and I sat outside for lunch today. There was a loud, obnoxious spanish man drinking a beer next to the eating area. We could have moved inside, but I wanted to enjoy this beautiful day. The man was talking incessantly about his delivery service with a younger man, bilingually cursing with almost every other word and carelessly peppering his commentary with racist slang. As we got up to leave after finishing our meal, we saw the clerk bring out the young man a delivery. It turns out he was the delivery driver and the older man drinking and cursing was the manager of the delivery service that this establishment hires out. After we left I called in to make a complaint with the manager. The clerk took my call and complaint with no explanation or commentary other than "sorry about that."

Im writing a review because this place really better change their ignorant and unprofessional staff they are disgusting and insulting and as a result it looks bad on their business but even with all the bad reviews stating how bad it is the owners apparently dont give a Damn.case in point I called to place an order I was left on the phone for 10 minutes at this point I hear an employee using profanity about how this customer didnt know what she wanted because her English was not good so at this point I just want to talk with the manager or owner so finally someone comes to the line I asked to speak with the manager 5 minutes later it sounds like the same girl so I ask to speak with the owner 2 minutes later I get hung up on. I dont recommend this place at all they should be shut down.!!!!!

As others have commented, the food is good, nothing spectacular but good. Pricey, yes. I dont mind the price and average food but the service is absolutely the worst. The women behind the counter scream at you for your order. They never say good morning and are very abrasive in their tone. Its almost as if you are a bother to them. Its close to my house and I enjoy the walk there but some visits I really am tempted to call them out on their disgusting behavior. Who I believe to be the owner is usually there and he obviously doesnt have any problems with the way customers are treated. Bottom line, if you want a decent bagel and juices, stop by with patience and expecting to be treated like dirt.

I was not sure what to expect based on the last three reviews which were less than kind. Boy am I glad I tried the place anyway. The people were friendly, the bagels were awesome, and the place was extremely clean and recently renovated. I got a wheat bagel with egg whites, and Ive never seen thicker egg whites than these... The bagels were so good that we took more home. The menu has many healthy options for breakfast and lunch for the health conscious. I think the prices are competitive for being on the beach and in line with what other Miami bagel places charge. I am definitely a fan and will be back again soon. Very impressed and highly recommend!
