Very rude. Low grade food. Go gangnam restaurant only 1.5 miles away. Soon as we enter the restaurant heard waiter and the owner talking rude about my dad because he was looking around the restaurant to find restroom. We ordered 60 dollar worth of food. Didnt even eat because of the rudeness. Paid full price and left this place. They will not survive at my area with this kind of poor service. No wonder they are doing business here. Also, Americans be ware of what they talking about you in korean!! 여행갔다가 한국음식 먹고싶어서 여기 갔는데 일하는 분들이나 사장이나 개념 밥말아먹었음. 들어가자 반말자기들끼리 하시고.. 한인이 없는데라 그런지 예의는 눈꼽만큼도 없네요. 잭슨빌에 있는 다른 한인식당 가십시오. 음식 60불 어치시키고 기분 너무 더러워서 안먹고 돈 다내고 나왔습니다. 제가 사는 한인분들이 많은데서 비지니스 안하시는게 다행이네요. 여기서 오래 사셔야할듯

I went with my family for my Uncles birthday and was very unsatisfied. The meal was very expensive for the portions of meat we received. Especially when compared to other Korean restaurants we have been to, it was not tasteful enough for the price it was offering. Understandably, gratuity was added to our bill BEFORE taxes so we paid additional in taxes due to that. That doesnt sound right now does it? While bringing it up to the manager, I have never received such horrible customer service in my life. She spoke in their foreign language to her server and shook her head while yelling at us over its "not a big deal". Youre a manager and youre basically ripping us off of our money in the poorest manner. Overall it was mediocre food, bad pricing, and bad customer service for management.

Best korean food in town. This kind of local hidden gems are blessing for franchise restaurant city like jacksonville. I tried every single korean food spot in jacksonville and my conclusion was samwon. Gang nams food was totally joke (Im half korean so you can trust me) and flame boiler is not a real korean but kinda fast food. Small food courts at new world food market was controversial. I strongly recommend the lunch special if you never tried this place before. For the people who looking for some authentic korean food, I recommend their spicy noodle soup and sea food stone pot( its amazing)

I have been to Sam Won a handful of times. The service is never great but my experience today was horrible. I called to make a to-go order at least 35 minutes prior to closing time, The woman who picked up could not understand my order (I even spelled it out, told her the price and read the description off their menu) and that is fine but she made no attempt to figure it out. Five minutes into the call she told me that the kitchen was closed and that they wouldnt be able to take my order. Her rudeness has compelled me to never step foot in that restaurant again.

As a Korean and as an ex sous chef... this place is quite horrible The waitress was very rushed even though she was only serving two tables The food was quite disgusting. Family of five ordered five different things and everyone hated their foods. Artificial flavoring galore. The restaurant caters more Americans than Koreans so I suppose they can say that they want to make their food taste more American than Korean? In any event dont go with the thought this will be authentic Korean food.

Jacksonville isnt known for its great selection of diversity when it comes to restaurants. However, unknown to many lovers of Korean food is this little jewel on the edge of University Boulevard. Ive been here many times, and being of Korean decent my judgement of good Korean food is based off of my own mothers cooking. Although no one will ever cook like mom I have never been disappointed by their food or service. Great job guys! ~Nae

The Bulgolgi is what keeps us going back. We love the variation of side dishes We go at night, though Ive been in for lunch, too, for their lunchbox deals. They are good, too. The dinner plates are large enough to share, and the bulgolgi runs about $15, I think. The food here is wonderful. Neat Korean atmosphere, small place, never a wait, pleasant servers, but service leaves a lot to be desired. Go for the food!

As a Korean I definitely recommend this place if you want to find authentic, well prepared Korean food! The barbecue is absolutely fantastic and the waiters provided great service! Ive been to tons of Korean restaurants around the nation and this one definitely falls under top 10.For authentic, quality Korean food this is the spot.

I had the bulgogi and indeed it was authentic and tasted good, but the kimchi was bland in flavor and it had no heat. I was expecting better from this Korean restaurant, but overall I would go again because Jacksonville lacks authentic restaurants and this is one of the only Korean places I know of here.

I was impressed by the authenticity of this Korean restaurant, made me feel like I was back in a restaurant back in Seoul. Food was GREAT and my Korean wife agreed. I highly recommend this restaurant if you wan the taste and feel of Korea. It was worth the price.

The only place in town for korean bbq (kalbi) that you can grill in front of you. Very good kalbi, a little pricey = definately worth it if youre in the mood for kalbi. Visit this restaurant every time we have family visiting from out of town.

The atmosphere is great! The bulgogi is like heaven and since I am a massive Kpop fan, I am always pleased when they are playing Kpop! I heard AOAs Like A Cat and many more songs I recognized and I was happy! I go there almost every week now!

Every single thing we ordered tasted awesome! Bulgogi was wonderful and the sweet rice was incredible! Thank you for the terrific food and the great service. The price was higher than I thought it shouldve been. Still, it was delicious!

I went there last night and their beef tip ribs were awesome. The place is kinda expensive for the amount of food you get but worth trying on an annual to semiannual basis if you are a lower middle class budgeting person like myself :-)

The bulgogi is heaven, and one of the servers is amazing! He helped me out in learning Korean also. I visit all the time and I cant get enough of the ginger dressing on the lunch salad ad the fried rice is amazing~!
