My wife got violently sick after eating there. We later discovered their public restaurant inspection reports. They have been repeatedly cited for health code violations over the course of many years. Here are a few: ..... Critical - Observed buildup of slime on soda dispensing nozzles. ..... Critical - Observed encrusted, soiled material on slicer. ..... Critical - Observed raw animal food stored over ready-to-eat food. Raw beef removed from original packaging over bread. ..... Critical - Observed employee switch from working with raw food to ready-to-eat food without washing hands. Handled raw shell eggs then plated waffle. ..... High Priority - Employee touched bare body part and then engaged in food preparation **Warning** ..... High Priority - Employee touched soiled surface and then engaged in food preparation, handled clean equipment or utensils, or touched unwrapped single-service items without washing hands. **Warning** ..... 2/21/2017~~Moved to the area 1 year ago. Last fall we tried FC and really liked the food. Its a tiny restaurant with about 6 tables and counter. It does get crowded. Its a get your own drinks and coffee is .50/cup place. While the food is fairly good, today I really have to question the cafes cleanliness. The blinds/window areas are filthy, the waitress was refilling salt/pepper shakers by grabbing the tops with her hands, the drop ceiling is not clean...yuck. The building looks like it used to be an old gas station hence the outside bathrooms but the inside needs an overhaul. Deep cleaning, new blinds (cheap at Home Depot), a new floor and paint would go a long way for this local favorite.

I was visiting my sister and we had breakfast here on Saturday morning. I absolutely loved the place! The food was wonderful. I had a nice DIY combo of scrambled eggs, cheese grits and a blueberry pancake. Heck, since this might be the only chance I ever got to eat there, I wanted to try all my favorites, as well as cheesy grits, which I had never tried. (I debated getting a biscuit as well, but I was so full after eating everything I had that I was glad I hadnt.) The place was really fun, too. The staff made us feel like old friends. And of course the prices were very reasonable. Hope I get to visit my sister again soon so we can go back to the Fruitland Park Cafe!

Family friendly atmosphere, HOMEMADE food. Very unassuming but exceptional value. Self serve drinks are great because you dont have to wait for that. Staff iz very attentive and caters to yoir needs. They even cut up my kids pancakes without me asking them to. And when she noticed that my daughter hadnteaten much, she offered to bring her oatmeal! Get there with some time to spare as it does get busy though!

We came through Fruitland this weekend and found this lil café. The service was great, the people were friendly. We got our food fast and hot and exactly as we ordered. The portions were big and the prices were low. And everything was delicious! If youre looking for breakfast or lunch in a homey atmosphere, come to the Fruitland park café! Five stars all day!

Love this place! Visit my parents live in The Villages and they love to come here. They are so kind and accomidate my 2 kids and elderly grandparents as well. The owners are so funny and nice. My mom always asks where I want to go eat when we visit and I tell her this is my favorite place! They even make Mickey Mouse pancakes for my kids!

Delightful! We had really basic breakfast food and sat outside. Drinks are self-serve, service is very friendly, and your fellow customers are a mix of local and tourist that works pretty well. The basic food we had was very well balanced - most places dont pay attention to getting sausage gravy right, but here it was great.

I have been eating here for several years, have always enjoyed the food and is a good place to meet friends. Sometimes is a little packed and sometimes could be a wait, but usually it isnt long. When the weather is nice sitting outside is an option too.
