Imagine having lunch in the kitchen of your favorite auntie - Thats Mallie Kylas cafe in Brooksville. Nestled in a charming turn of the last century home, loaded with plants and knick-knacks and Florida memorabilia, this soul warming, belly filling Southern living at its best. Sweet tea, of course! Mile high cakes and pies that are blue ribbon worthy, overstuffed sandwiches and shrimp and grits, to die for! Im torn between waiting to let everyone in the southeastern part of the US know about this incredible gem and wanting to be selfish and only share this treasure with my closest friends. But Mallie Kylas is so good, the food so wonderful and the staff so warm and welcoming, how could I want anyone to miss out on this place? I cant. Mallie Kylas is the best. Yall tell everyone!!

Just Retired... new to the area! Wanted to try the cafe as, we, my husband and I, were out exploring today. We walked in the cafe the hostess (heavily made up older lady) ignored us, while sorting lunch tickets. We stood under the sign that said wait to be seated...She finally looked up and said."Do you have a watch?" I replied no I dont why? She because it is 3:10 and we dont serve after 3:00. We politely apologized and left. Your sign reads you are open until 5:00. Im small letter we want back out and see it reads you do not easy anyone after 3. Your attitude was completely uncalled for. We will never allow you to disrespect us again.

Well, I went to Mallie Kylas Cafe in downtown Brooksville for the first time last week and I have to thank you all for suggesting that I go. Great little place, everything a home town cafe should be. I know they are renowned for their potato soup (which was very good) but their mushroom soup was one of the best I can remember eating in a LOOOOONG time. Not creamy but more a rich and stocky soup, if that makes sense? Sandwich was very good, tasty pasta salad. Didnt try the deserts but maybe next time.

Fantastic place to eat. Especially love the roast beef crunch on ciabatta bread sandwich. It is to die for. Try this and you will never eat at Arbys again. The staff are very friendly and the restuarant is cute and cozy. We will keep going there for our fix as long as they will keep having us. Oh and the prices are great to.

My wife works around the corner from this little place. The ladies she works with will make me pick up lunch when I am off. The interior is a bit cramped as it is situated in an old sprawling home. The did is kinda fancy, and the salads are great.

Very charming local eatery near downtown Brooksville. Desserts are amazing - my favorite is the Banana Cream Pie - which is a specialty dessert that they dont always have. They should really consider putting it on their regular menu :)

We had the meatloaf it was outstanding very moist came with scalloped potatoes and salad for under 10 dollars very nice portions . We had pies for dessert both flavors outstanding and good sized for only 5.00 each . Very nice meal .

I love this local hot spot! Such a great atmosphere setting in an old florida house. The food is always excellent and the Swiss potato soup is my favorite. The staff are down to earth and very welcoming.
