I had a terrible experience today at Café H20 that left me very angry and disgusted. I own several travel agencies in the New York area and am in Florida hosting a cruise for my top employees. I was alone checking out the beach front restaurants and thought the H20 looked nice. The place was had a full lunch crowd and an empty two seat table in the shade and in front was being cleaned and I asked the hostess if I could sit there and she said ‘sure,’ with a smile. After it was cleaned I went to sit and was stopped by the General Manager, Mr. Anthony Hernan, who told me they now needed the table for a larger party that had arrived AFTER ME. He then tried to seat me in the back row of the dining area - which were the only seats left at the moment, and without the view of the beach. I began to argue that the table had already been assigned to me by the hostess and I did not think this was fair. After going back and forth a few times with him getting more and more arrogant he finally said they had the right to give me any table they wanted- and in fact because of my protests, he no longer wanted to seat me at all and to go find another place for lunch. I was floored. I asked for the name and address of the owner – Mr. Hernan refused to give me the information. In short I felt Mr. Hernan did not care about the expericance of a single individual due to fact that they were was busy. I did not represent much of a loss and so was evidently not worth the trouble. To me this represents the worst kind of shortsighted management. What Mr. Hernan, did not realize is that I was trying the place out for possible future client recommendations – yeah, that’s not going to happen. Perhaps after he reads this review on the internet, in the future he will think twice before treating a lone patron in this manner.

A bunch of Fraud! Dont go there! Waiters are making crazy money in auto gratuities no wonder why they give attitude to clients. They dont care because you tip them anyways. On top of that, their billing software smuggles the 18% of gratuity without showing on the receipt/bill! To be reported to the FBI. The food was okay (nothing crazy but adequate) and the service was normal by Andrew D L until the end... We realized that the tip (auto gratuity 18%) was included on the bill even if it said 0.00 next to it. Its a scam for tourists (specially for Canadians and Europeans where tips are never included) If you dont add up the numbers... you look very fast thru the bill and next to the auto gratuity 18% line ---- $0.00. you think tips are not included, so you tip them more. Waiters are making crazy money! My brother in law and his girlfriend double tip. It was paid cash. Too bad. No proof ! As for myself, I paid the tip cash $20 and the rest by creditcard . Our server Andrew D L came with a different/modified bill. Two days later, I checked my creditcard invoice and they added an extra tip/gratuity on it. I spoke to the managers Camillo and Kasey by phone and in person a few days later, I was very polite and calm. They offered me a beer that I refused. The manager asked me several times if I kept the receipts (proofs against them when the 18% auto gratuity is included and it shows at $0.00) Really a bad taste and a bad experience overall! Dont waste your time and money! Go somewhere else before they pickpocket you!

Upon arriving to the Restaurant, we were shown to our table by the Restaurant Manager, who didnt even ask us if that table was O.K for us. When our Server arrived I spoke up and asked if we could move to the other side of the restaurant to a table that suited us better, rather than out in the middle. My mother and I ordered the Mahi Sandwich - blackened for $12.95. Upon arrival of our dishes, we observed that my Mahi fish portion was tiny in comparison with my mums and looked lost on the hoagie roll. We consulted the server about this, who totally agreed the portion size was inadequate and another plate was brought out 15 minutes later. By this time my parents had completed their meals and our dining experience was TOTALLY RUINED. The new plate finally arrived and their was no apparent improvement on the size of the portion. Therefore we summoned the Manager, who made no apology and said that originally my mum had received the better pieces of fish than I - Which to us, made no sense at all! We left the Restaurant with no proper reasoning and a complete unwillingness to offer us any discount towards our meal or re compensation at all, Considering I had eaten my dinner alone and everyone else had finished.

I dont know too much about the area since I was here for one day but we stopped here for dinner and had a great time, the service was just a little slow but we had someone sit at the table and enjoyed the beachfront while our food was cooking. I ate the fettuccine amalfitano and it was fantastic the sauce was very rich and there was a lot of food on the plate, I ate a lot more than I intended but it was well worth it. Another member of my family had the steamed lobster, it was a good sized for the price and the taste was great. We did end up getting desert and shared the vesuvius and the tiramisu. Both were phenomal and I would heavily recommend the vesuvius. They also have a Java Cafe attached that I did not try but I ordered a coffee with my desert and I was very pleased. All in all, there was great food and friendly wait staff, this is a busy area right on the water so expect slighty longer wait times, take someone who can hold your table and take a quick stroll along the beach ( there is a crosswalk a few steps from the storefront).

Three friends and I dined here during our vacation in Ft. Lauderdale. We decided to dine due to its vicinity to the beach and delicious sounding menu. We were immediately met with spotty service, our waiters changed multiple times, were inconsistent and impatient. We were seated near the hostess station and would often overhear the staff openly arguing with each other every few minutes. During our meal our server even dropped the glass ketchup on our table and shattered it everywhere and proceeded to make someone else clean it up who then asked us how they should clean it. The food was delicious and reasonably priced although we tipped poorly due to the service. Our waiter stood over our shoulders while we filled out our checks and proceeded to yell at us for tipping low and made a huge ordeal, she was very rude and even used innapropriate language. We even called management after and they seemed uninterested in our complaints. Summary: Great food, fair prices, awesome location, terrible service, would not return.

Never Again. My wife and I had lunch at this place and received the most horrible service. It was one of the few spots that had no wait for lunch and I can see why. We were treated very rudely by our female server who took over 10 min to show up for our order. Then she was running around doing something else instead of waiting on us when no one was in the restaurant. We often had to pull other servers to the side and ask for refills and the status of our food. When we got the final bill, the tip portion lists the standard tips but the amounts were much larger than what the actual percentages were. We left a much smaller tip due to the horrible service and was hounded by our server on the way out about how little of a tip we left. We were practically ran out of the joint by the server who was very rude and bitchy. We ended up going to down the street to another restaurant and received much better service. I ended up giving that waiter a 40 dollar tip.
