I have been here several times and the food is always good . On weekend nights it gets busy, you might have to wait for a table and the service might be underpar because of how crowded it is.... At least I thought that was the case . But Its a Tuesday morning and when we walked in there was only ONE other table of people . The waitress came over, introduced herself and told us she was training someone today . All is fine there , we order and get our food. A minute later she asked if everything came out okay , then thats it . Never seen again . Mind you there are only 2 other tables at this point . We never were offered any refills of any kind or anything. And finally after I stacked out plates and sat arms crossed did the other waitress ( she just came in for her shift) ran over and asked what she could get us . This whole time our waitess is in a in-depth conversation about who knows what with a woman who just walked in , the trainee , hiding in the corner. As we walked past the waitress to leave she doesnt even acknowledge us. I wonder if this is really how the owner wants their employees trained .....

We were excited to try this spot with family from out of town. The grilled shrimp were not grilled but boiled, the chicken on the yardbird was cooked...barely. The mango chicken salad was HOT and barely edible. The temperature of the restaurant was almost unbearable and when asked if they could turn the air down, we were told its the humidity. The walls and furniture are showing wear and there were flies that were more interested in our food than we were. We told an employee who appeared to be a manager but never introduced themselves of our issues and the reaction to our comments was less than concerned. Two positive statements about the establishment is that they were able to seat us immediately and the ice was cold.

We went here for my fathers birthday. Some of the worst if not the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Indifferent wait staff and management. Heres a suggestion maybe hire someone who is not the bartender, server and manager on a holiday week. We are local and we will not return. After watching four tables being served that were seated well after us; we decided to pay for the drinks and leave. The manager would not let us do that since the food was ordered. She asked what are they supposed to do with the order? Waited yet again for the food to be boxed and when it was brought out my order was not there because it was given to another table....no apologies absolutely ridiculous. What a waste of $90

We waited for an eternity for a waitstaff person to even come to the table for drinks. Then, we waited and waited for her to come back to take food order. Then, we waited and watched people coming in after us, getting seated, served, and leaving and no one came to the table to check on us or to explain anything. Several tables were served and finished eating, that arrived after we did, before we just got up and left. The people at the front just offered excuse after excuse. The food looked like it might have been good, but we will never know. We wont go back. There are too many other establishments that care and want business. Very disappointed!

It had good food, but establishment acted as if pushing together two tables was a problem inside to accommodate 7 people. So we had to sit outside and bugs in the area was a huge problem. (yes I know Im outside, but you know how in some areas bugs arent as bad as others??) Well the bugs were bad enough where I had to ask for a take out box and eat the rest of my food in the car. I do recommend the Trucker! An amazing sandwich, they also have amazing fries!!

Well, we were trying to get things done (and, nothing seemed to be going our way); the jeweler is open tomorrow, the spot we intended for lunch the very same. Serendipity ;) We found our meal just down the road. The décor impressed Diane, and gave her ideas for our own basement and bar area. The service was spot on, the food (crab chip dip and pressed sandwiches, along with two fresh iced teas) A great spot, exceptional company; we will be back, thanks :)

This is a favorite local spot for me, just up the road. The menu is full of traditional foods with untraditional spins. Your taste buds will thank you for stopping by for any meal of the day. I especially enjoy the breakfast platters. Large enough to fill up the hardest working laborers, without being heavy. I love the atmosphere the music helps to set. And the staff is amazing. My only gripe is the small parking lot, it fills up quickly.

Great food at good prices--I had their crabcake and we shared two of their desserts--carrot cake and caramel bread pudding. The bread pudding was fantastic, and they do a great job with presentation on their dishes. The indoor dining area feels cozy and there is a covered outdoor seating area in the back. Atmosphere is very nice! Our only complaint was that our initial drinks and the main dishes were a little slow in coming.

Food was mostly good. Shrimp and grits and desserts were great, hummus was bland. Service was slow. Every table was full on a Saturday night, and they seemed really understaffed. A separate waitress took our dessert order but mistakenly left without taking all of them so we had to wait even longer. Probably a great place if you know whats good and go at an off time.

Stopped in with a friend for lunch yesterday and was very impressed. From the street, The Backyard looked "ok" but we were so glad we went in. The food was great and priced fairly. The service was also great - the décor was very inviting. When the weather gets warmer I look forward to getting a group together and enjoying an evening on the back deck.

Loved this restaurant, 8 of us came here for lunch and it was fantastic. Menu options are great and they have a wide array of specialty entrees, sandwiches, burgers, appetizers, soups, salads and drinks. Their desserts are delicious! Very good service, our waitress was quick and very friendly. I reccomend!

Breakfast is great too, and its the only place I can go where they dont mind my special orders. And even better they serve all Surf Bagel Swell Joe coffee and Backyard Jams and Jellies that I have been loving and buying for years at the Farmers Markets... Made with love locally!

The interior is cute, service is always great, and the food is just amazing. I love their sweet potato fries and their mac and cheese. I drag my boyfriend here every chance I get when Im down in the area - forget about the places in Lewes or Rehobeth, this place is just better.

Ate there the other night, food was amazing, the pricing was great, there was great service, and the atmosphere was very relaxing. The layout and decor were lovely as well. I would definitely recommend to anyone down at the beach looking for a great bite to eat!

This place is a gem. Everything is fresh and the menu is unique and inspired. The trucker is a must if you like pork. It somehow incorperates mac and cheese onto a sandwich that doesnt leave you wishing you didnt eat it. Also get the soup, no matter what it is.
