I went to the sea grape for the first time this past weekend and had a really unfortunate experience. First of all, they charge a cover - which with all the choices of other bars in Fairfield and Westport really doesnt makes sense to me. A huge turn off - especially when you have Fairfield ave right around the corner. Anyways, I went in and bought a round of drinks for my friends and I and charged it to my credit card. I decided to leave a minimal tip because of the overpriced drinks, the slowness and rudeness of the bartenders, but having worked in the food industry myself I decided to just leave a little something. So in the next few days I look at my credit card statement and I realized that the bartender has taken it upon himself to charge a few extra dollars to my bill - which isnt all THAT big of a deal...unless you decide to buy many drinks or maybe youre strapped on cash and hadnt planned to dole out huge tips on an overrated bar. Honestly, I would say if youre looking for a good place to go out in Fairfield and dont want to be charged a cover and have a couple bucks stolen from you AVOID

I have been to the Grape a few times, as a senior at Fairfield U. This bar is not worth your time or money. Besides its dilapidated appearance, the staff who work at this bar do not care about their customers. I paid a $5 cover and an additional $5 for a wristband which was supposed to entitle me to an open bar between 10:00 and 11:30, which they ended 10 minutes early at 11:20. When I complained they had me thrown out of the bar. Some customer service! I WILL NEVER GIVE THEM ANY OF MY BUSINESS EVER AGAIN!!

Under new management, friendly guy named Bob. Improved appearance, improved entertainment, improved service. The new menu of food is awesome. Fresh seafood and home made dishes, no sysco deliveries here. Really glad to see this place turned around so well.
