Where or where do I begin? This place should have a "beware of locals" sign on the door! My boyfriend and I went here at the end of April - he provided live music for the night. I guess since I was only the musicians girlfriend, I wasnt considered to be a real customer because despite it being a snowy and very slow night and that all the other customers were receiving table service, I received none. I had to get my own menu and track down the waitress for all my food and drink orders. I thought that was pretty crummy, so I left a review saying it. Maybe an hour after posting, however, I deleted it because when I went to pay my tab (plus a, now regretted, 20% tip), I found that my boyfriends beers were covered and I thought that was nice. Well! I later found out that in that brief amount of time they had seen my review, stalked and then recognized me from my Facebook profile (I say stalked because my profile picture at the time didnt even show my face, so they had to do some amount of digging), and then lectured my boyfriend on how unprofessional it was, even though he wasnt the one who left the review.... He didnt even know about it. I dont understand why they approached him and not me; I can only assume it was because they were paying him and thus felt they had more control over his actions. But the reality of the matter is I left the review, entirely on my own, and they werent paying me - quite the opposite, actually! So, after hearing this, I was highly disappointed and re-posted a review that included the above information and boy-oh-boy did that stir up the hornets nest! Soon after, the owner had replied accusing me of lying by saying I had received "plenty" of table service (not true) and once again harped on the fact that my boyfriend was a "paid professional" (still dont know what this is meant to justify, as we are two different people, I swear, and Ive never received a dime from them). That was just the beginning though, as comments from people who were obviously regulars and/or friends poured onto my review throughout the night, telling me to "come back when youre not so full of yourself" and that I was asking too much of them and wanted "special service." I eventually decided to delete this review as well, just so they would leave me alone and we could enjoy the rest of our vacation (were from out of town). Most unfortunate is that this type of reaction does not appear to be a one-time, over-escalated situation... Upon browsing their Yelp reviews, I saw the owner had accused another reviewer of "not appreciating family businesses" and "not liking children" when they mentioned that an employees unruly children were running around the bar screaming. She also publicly announced that one of their previous cooks was fired for their "dishonesty, hostility, and theft" when someone mentioned that their food used to be better than it is now. Yikes. And all this coming from a woman who lectures others on being unprofessional... I guess she hasnt heard that people who live in glass houses shouldnt throw stones. This is by far the most time and energy Ive wasted on a review in my life, but honestly, I just hated the idea of a business being able to bully people out of leaving them reviews they find unsatisfactory. Its the principal of it more than anything else at this point. If you still really want to try this place out, I wouldnt necessarily advise you against it; just know who your money is going to and keep your mouth shut (especially if youre from out of town!).

Im moved into Manitou a few months ago, and I found a place above Swirl Wine Bar. And I have to say its a great place. Its a cozy and mellow atmosphere to grab lunch and relax. On the weekends and most nights, you find a lot of locals and out-of-towners enjoying themselves with a paddle of beer or their fun and tasty styles of cocktails and miles. I have a lot of allergies and the cooks always try to accommodate their dishes to my needs. I feel uncomfortable often asking a restaurant to change my food because I get sick easily, but they are very friendly and open! I love the food. The dishes are yummy, filling and not too much on your wallet. The place is somewhat small for how busy it gets, but thats good business! There is an outdoor patio with a fireplace. Also, smokers alley with seating. The seating is comfortable, the staff is great! The more you visit, the more it feels like a family. Which is great if youre a local, like myself. Give it a shot and enjoy Manitou!

A beautiful little gem in Manitou Springs. Considering everything else is very touristy This is a great local hangout. The food was fresh and delicious. I absolutely loved the Red Mountain salad with flank steak. Super friendly staff and knowledgeable about wine. I was so pleased to see an awesome wine list in a small town. My husband was happy because they had a great whisky selection and great beers on draft. Super cute patio! We enjoyed everything about swirl. Super fresh, artistic and friendly.

Nope. Not gonna review this completely bad ass place, Google. Neither it nor its amazing atmosphere shall receive my high praise. I will definitely not be going here from August 3rd through the 6th, 2017 on my trip to Manitou. Nope. Hate their stupid extensive beer menu and back patio that is completely awesome. Cant believe theyd expect me to drive from Oklahoma City all the way up there in hopes that Id get to sit on their back patio and drink a beer. Ugh.

Fantastic, local staple in Manitou Springs! I recommend this place to all the tourists as it is one of the best restaurants in town. Fresh, local ingredients, and you can order wines by 2 oz pours so you can create yourself a wine flight. My husband loves going here to because the food is good and they have some unique craft beers on tap. Back patio is gorgeous too!

So many hidden gems about this place!! Secluded patio with a fire pit, homemade ginger beer, MANY gluten free options, craft cocktails, and the wine selection is beyond what you could ask for! Be sure to ask your servers guidance because they are all extremely knowledgeable and will make your experience something to tell your friends about!

Stumbled in shortly after arriving in town to find an awesome local, and the best and most helpful bartender, (Breezy) ever. Great wine bourbon and beer selection! Check out the back patio, unless its raining and she cant dry it off, save the trouble, blame mother nature, stay inside and hang with her. Great experience all around!

Wonderful environment. Excellent wine choices and great staff. Had the pretzel meats small plate and it was outstanding. Malina was amazing. Let us try a sample of a couple of wines to make sure we would like them before we ordered them. She is truly five star.
