Worst restaurant experience ever. My wife, all 53" and 125 pounds of her, and I, walked into the Denver Hard Rock cafe last Friday evening (Nov. 28) with a plastic cup of iced tea from another store. After waiting at the bar for about 5 minutes to order drinks, the bartender finally came over and chastised my wife and told her that the drink had to go. We both understand why. She took our drink order and again warned that the iced tea had to go, this time with a little explanation why. So my wife, slid the cup across to bar for her to dispose of. In the meantime, she began talking to another employee and both kept glancing towards us. After receiving our drinks we went outside to sit on the patio, my wife with her cocktail and me with a draft beer. I was smoking a cigarillo so, after a while, my wife went back inside to refresh her drink and came out very upset. She had been refused service and explained to me that the manager was very rude. I went in and spoke with manager John Fimple who said that she had been refused service due to her “aggressive behavior” involving the iced tea cup. What? I was there and nothing aggressive happened. I simply could not believe him. He also said that she had alcohol on her breath and was “weaving”. How phony can you be? Excuse me, aren’t you in the alcohol business? Imagine that, a person with alcohol on their breath IN A BAR!! The experience was very upsetting to us and we will never go back. I’m 64 years old and neither one of us were drunk or even care that much about drinking. We went into the Hard Rock because it was relatively empty….and now we know why. We will never go back to that place and probably will never go to another Hard Rock anywhere, for that matter. As far as the Denver 16th street mall is concerned, we can take it or leave it too but probably more likely to leave it. The attitude exemplified by Mr. Fimple and the Brunhilda the bartender make it apparent that Denver Hard Rock really doesn’t want business from Kansas hicks like us and so, you need not worry. You’ll never get our business again. The only satisfying thing about the entire experience was reading the Google reviews where apparently we’re not the only ones having a bad experience with staff and management there. Corporate-you awake out there? You gotta problem in Denver.

We came here as a group for a conference that I was attending at the Sheraton. As such, we were seated upstairs and were given a selection of menu items and choose from for a set price. I, being vegetarian (not being snobby, this plays in later), selected the Macaroni and Cheese (with a side of garlic bread), but was also enticed by the veggie burger. The food took a bit to arrive, but that is to be expected with the number of people in our party. While we waited, we struck up very good conversation, made easier by the plethora of conversation topics plastered on the walls. The staff was very polite and attentive during our wait as well, frequently stopping in to check on us and refill our drinks. My biggest complaints would be the electronic elements of the atmosphere. I am not a fan of televisions in a restaurant setting, and there was one of either end, with audible volume. This made conversation a but tricky, but was manageable. The worst part wad the lighting though... I am not sure if it was intentional or just a malfunction, but the lights above is flickered throughout the meal, which only served to worsen my headache from the altitude change. My meal arrived, but unfortunately a mixup brought me the Macaroni and Cheese with a few surprises in that there was chicken breast on top and bacon integrated into the pasta (as I found out after closer inspection upon removing the chicken, at first chalking it up to an oversight on my part). This was fortunately remedied quickly, with very polite apologies, and I quite enjoyed the meal that finally did arrive. All in all, it was an interesting dinner, with appreciating for what it was. I probably wouldnt go here of my own volition, but the meal was good and the staff were great.

I have never been to a Hard Rock Cafe and probably will never go again because of my experience here. I came with a total of 13 people, we have had reservations for weeks and they knew that we were coming. Our meal had been prepaid for. They gave us the regular menus and had us sit there for a good 10 minutes before our waiter came over and took drink orders. With our "special" situation they ended up taking away the menus that you usually get and gave us a menu a with 4 choices. This wouldve been fine if we hadnt already looked at all the food that looked amazing and picked out what we wanted. Our waiter took our order and laughed at someone when told him they didnt want mayo because it doesnt automatically come on the burger and was asked where they saw mayo on the menu. After waiting 45 minutes without food and hardly a sign of our waiter we watched a table of 10 that came in after us get all their food, that was much more complex than ours, and seem to have an enjoyable meal. We asked to speak with the manager, he was very reluctant to come and talk with us. Apparently our 13 person ticket got put into the computer but not turned into the cook. (What?!) Our waiter came back and filled some of our drinks, I was asked if I wanted more lemonade and I said yes, I waited 26 minutes and asked twice for my drink. We received our food and half of it wasnt right, when we said we asked for no lettuce, tomatoes, and onions the waiter told us to just deal with it and take it off. Over all horrible experience, everyone we talked to was rude.

My husband and I spent Christmas in Denver and we decided to have dinner on Christmas at the HRC. We sat down at a cocktail table to the right of the bar and a bartender told us that they were very busy because it was Christmas and they were one of the few restaurants open in the area, so it would be a little while before they could get to us, which was no big deal we told him no worries we didnt mind waiting. We sat down at 7:30pm and there were two male bartenders behind the bar. As we are sitting there we watched the bartenders serve customers who came in after us and sat directly at the bar but not once did they come over to even give us a menu or to order drinks. My husband had to get up and get us menus and then he attempted to go to the bar to order food since they would not come to us and they ignored him. The same thing was happening to another table right behind us. This went on until nearly 8:40pm and I got up and asked the host if we could please have someone help take our order and he told me that they were closing at 9pm and unfortunately they were not taking anymore orders. Even though we had been sitting there, we still did not receive service. We were acknowledged and then ignored. I asked to speak to a manager but was told that there was not one available at the time as they were about to close. I have never been so dissatisfied with service in my life and we happily took our business to another restaurant.
