Came here once when I first moved into the area. I was terribly unimpressed at the time and didnt go back for years. Yes, years. With an "s." But recently a friend joined a pool league that plays out of the Famous Door and one night I decided to head over and hang out for a little while while she played. I didnt miss anything in the intervening years. The place still looked like it could benefit from a bulldozer more than a steam cleaner. Ill give it to the bar that the place was busy and the poor waitress running around looked like she was about to have a breakdown, but from what my friend said service it almost always terrible. Whats worse, the bar isnt fully stacked and the food was abysmal. I mean, it looked abysmal. I didnt eat any but no one on the pool team seemed impressed by their order. Straight from the freezer to the microwave to the table, if you catch my drift. And yes, Colorado law prevents people from smoking inside, but that doesnt stop them from standing right outside the door and huffing their way to a nicotine high. Then you have to walk through the cloud upon entering or exiting the facility. If I never go back it will be too soon. But hey, if you like dive bars with gum and alcohol stained carpeting and dust dinosaurs hanging from the rafters, then maybe this is the place for you. Ill freely admit dives arent my cup of tea.

I come there to play pool and I was expecting a reasonably well stocked bar. I requested an IPA (India Pale Ale) beer there two times in the last 6 months and they still dont have it. The bartender tried to tell me that Stella Artois was an IPA. I informed her that IPA (or "India Pale Ale") would be prominently displayed on the label if it really were an IPA and usually the alcohol content is higher than 6%. I spoke with the bar manager, Missy, who became angry with me and stomped off when I asked why they did not have IPAs. She seemed very moody and unprofessional for a bar manager. Its bad enough that they charge 15-20% more for drinks but not trying to accommodate what customers like is not going to make visitors feel welcome. The pool tables and balls are dirty, dusty and not cleaned up very well. Many of the balls are severely pitted. I am very disappointed in this place. Feel free to have the real manager give me a call.

Ive been on a pool league here for the last couple months and Ive never really felt welcomed or well tended to. The two waitresses serving 50-70 people playing league basically just ignore you while caring for their regulars. My final straw was this last Monday (7/31/17) after ordering an appetizer platter against my better judgement. I typically stick to drinks while Im there because the food didnt really appeal to me, and after 36 hours of food poisoning I think Im done giving them any business. Im basically quitting the team I play on because this bar is so unpleasant, from the staff to the smell to the freezer-flavored trash they serve. Getting wasted in an alleyway sounds more fun than another night at the Famous Door.

You are only welcomed if you play a pool leauge. Not a very friendly place at all...stay away and go somewhere else..I recommend Dry Dock Brewery in the same parking lot so much fun and more staff to handle the business ..The owner here is not interested in driving new customers or business into his dive bar that has looked the same for the last 20 years. Also not near enough staff to give good and efficient service!!!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place. I was told they got a new partner that is helping to make some improvements. They have a great new friendly staff along with a new menu....Great drinks, food, staff, and the people that come in are friendly. My new neighborhood watering hole! DJs on the weekends are FABULOUS, they also have darts and pool ;)

Bartenders are good, but the music is so bad. Sketchy place after 10pm on a friday. I have been verbally assaulted just because of my race more than once here. Enough is enough. Im done spending money at this place. Daytime is fine, but my opinion is steer clear after 10pm.

Rude rude rude...terrible first experience. Night bartender and waitresses were very clique-ish. Apparently only regulars get treated like people. Plus the kitchen closed early on a saturday night.

Its okay. Its all bar tables $1 a game.. if you like to play a lot its too expensive to play here. The drinks are good and the people are nice. The one upside is darts.
