This is the only bakery on earth that I will wait 20+ minutes under the hot sun because its worth it. Its funny to think all these people are waiting, like sheep, to be able to go through Bouchons door to buy a macaroon, chocolate croissant or to overhear strategic phone conversations about what kind of bread to buy for dinner and to listen what is Plan B if the bread they really want is not there.Yes, these are all 1st World problems. There is so much "eye candy" here that you can easily get overwhelmed when it comes to making buying decisions. My favorites are Bouchon Bakerys versions of the Hostess Cupcake and Ho Ho, any macaroon, any flaky, buttery pastry or croissant. Nothing is bad here! We can easily spend between $40 - $50 for two peoples self-indulgent, decadent pastry whims. NOTE: We have not made it over to the bread area yet. QQQQQ

Crazy line any time of day - do I need to say more? That place must be a goldmine. If you plan your visit reserve 30-40 minutes wait time and be prepared that its more a to-go place. There is seating outside but if the Napa weather doesnt play along feel free to eat in the car. I liked the BLUEBERRY TART ($6) which was well balanced - fruity and not too sweet. The STRAWBERRY RHUBARB TART however didnt impress me. The cheese was too heavy and filling. I also got to try the MACARONS - soft and delightful, my favorite was the Chocolate Macaron. Too bad theyre out of many items when I got there, in fact most of their signature bakery goods were not available (eclair). Overall this was a solid experience but nothing Id line up for 30 minutes again.

Macarons galore with fresh baked breads and pastries to boot! After waiting in a monster line and finally getting to the display case to order, everything looked so delicious. I wanted to try everything, hmm maybe that’s how they trick you here? Anyway, we had a chance to get a number of items from various macarons to croissants to peanut butter cups. I’m not the biggest fan of macarons, but these were something special. I was sold! I want more! Their croissants are large, flaky, and buttery. It’s pretty safe to say, all the baked goods served here are great. The only negative I can think of is the steep price for each of the items. Prices start adding up quickly if you’re not watching and letting your stomach do the ordering.

I like Bouchon. Its a beautiful bakery and it has a huge line out the door demonstrating the love people have for it. And its the French Laundrys little sibling. Dont come here if youre in a rush -- come here if you want to loiter and then brag about where you went afterward. As a vegan, honestly, theres not much here. I come here with non-vegan guests, and when I was there I got myself a loaf of bread. And the bread was good, but not worth waiting in a huge line for. I can get decent bread at other, less popular places. But the location is beautiful and it seems to be well-deserving of the popularity they have. I just wish theyd have a few vegan-friendly pastries so I could enjoy it more.

I have learned that the way to find a truly superb bakery is to test their almond croissants. This bakery has made it impossible for me to enjoy any others I have had in the US since. They are to die for. The macaroons, the chocolate bouchon cakes, the petite tarts, all of it is beyond description amazing. I live about two hours away and have been known to take a Sunday Morning drive just to taste some of their treasures, always find a way to pass by on my way to the ocean. Truly feel both blessed and cursed to have now had the best, yet never able to appreciate or enjoy any other almond croissants from anywhere else. If you are in the Napa Valley, GO!

I was a bit underwhelmed by Bouchon, but I still had a very high-quality meal here. My entree, the trout amandine, was phenomenal. Rich and light. Good balance of textures with the soft trout and the crunchy almonds The salmon and chickpea fries starters were good but not exceptional. The heirloom tomato salad didnt deliver on the promise of basil. The service was good but not impeccable. Small nit: for example, my napkin wasnt folded when I returned from the restroom. The atmosphere was excellently French (never been but thats the feeling I got). I liked the tall ceilings. The music was a little off. Sometimes too high-energy.

French bakery, eat as is not hot and crunchy, the pastry is a little bit hard to bite, not soft and melting in your mouth as expected. Very nice to get some rest after a hiking day around. I always long for pastries as the good old days, buttery, soft and crunchy... no more... they are all dry, hard and not buttery at all... why? We downgrade our taste and say that it is more healthier! Really? I dont think so! We blame our foods are made with too much fat, thats not true. Our foods in true are poisoned with preservative chemical, thats the sad truth, not the fat from butter or cheese.

This place was a good teaser for TFL weekend (The French Laundry) last year. The cranberry scones were SO good that I saved the crumbs in the bottom of my bakery bag and left them in our hotel on the nighstand to pick at later on. When I caught the boyfriend throwing the bag away I freaked out. "Hey!! Theres scone crumbs in that bag!" He didnt know. He still tells everyone that Im a garbage picker, and that I eat food out of the trash. If I ever have to go Freegan I am moving to Yountville, CA for sure!

I ordered their eclairs and they came shaped with an almost star pointed pattern to the chocolate. There was even gold leaf applied as a label on the pastry. It looked too good to eat. Then I ate it. It was perfect. The cream had a flavor I can only describe as subtlety but powerful. It transformed and lingered on my tongue, I have never tasted another pastry that good since. Also, the place is absolutely beautiful with a nice simple architecture and rich highlights. A must visit in this smallish town.

Pork belly fouee alone deserve a five star! Waited in the long line for my morning pastries. Finally is my turn, and hubby wanted to try the pork belly fouee. Fouee was so good so tasty! I wanted to get more, but the wait is too lonh. I also ordered pastacio brioche, cranberry score and almond croissant. Almond croissant was perfect as expected. Just had brioche this morning, its a little dry. So long, brouchon! I shall visit you soon for your pork belly fouee and croissant!!

Located in picturesque downtown Yountville, sanwiched between Napa and Sonoma. The pastries and coffee ROCKS! During the weekends the queue extends out the front door. Buy a bacon and cheese chive scone or a chocolate crescent and a coffee and your set. Outdoor seating only; but, hey this is California where only earthquakes and fires stop an enjoyable outdoor experience. Visit Bouchon instead of your hotels local eatery for a pleasant change of pace.
