I go to Vientiane mainly for their Laos style Papaya Salad. It is delicious. They do, however, have other food in their menu that are pretty tasty. When I am not craving the Papaya Salad, I usually get their Chicken Yellow Curry and their PadSaew. Their location isnt the best, but its doable especially for a small restaurant. There is the owner, a main lady that serves the customers most of the time and her service is excellent. There are some occasions where her kids serves you, but they all have excellent customer service as well, especially compared to most Asian family owned restaurants. They actually speak perfect english! I would recommend this place. Its always a great thing to experience new places and this place can be worth an experience.

I didnt hate the food but I didnt really enjoy it. Food was bland. Ive had better food for the same price or less. The lady that served us was nice and that just about the nicest thing I can really say. Its small. Maybe about 9 or 10 tables that seat 4. It isnt a really busy place so dont think you will have a hard time finding a seat. I ordered the Lao sausage which was sweet, spicey and kinda dry. Hubby got the pineapple fried rice and said he didnt really like it. My daughter got the Kapoon noodles and it was really sweet and spices. They put too much basil in the soup which became over powering. Kapoon noodle are suppose to taste a little like curry but tasted really watered down. Wouldnt go back. Lady was nice though

Vientiane is probably my favorite casual Thai place in the area (Davis, West Sac, Midtown). The quality of the food and the service has always been excellent. Ive loved just about everything Ive had there, but I would recommend the egg rolls, Pad Thai, any of the curries, the Lao sausage (with the garlic chili sauce), the coconut milk soup (forget the name). Im not a big salad person, but the salads Ive seen people Ive gone with get have looked pretty damn good. I dont see nearly as many people in here as it deserves. It doesnt come up high on google and the location is right off 80 but tucked into a little strip mall, its easy to miss. Dont miss Vientiane in West Sacramento!

Low, low, low prices and good, good, good food! Two people can get a couple of entrees, rice and drinks for around $20 (watch out, the portions are big, and if you order three entrees youll need take-out boxes). Laotian food is very much like Thai, but somewhat differently spiced. Vientiane has quickly become our favorite no-frills West Sacramento restaurant. The only problem is its in a small, relatively obscure, strip mall and its not visible from the main boulevard. So were worried its not getting enough business. Its right off the Jefferson exit on I-80, and is an outstanding choice if you live in West Sacramento and a real bargain if youre from Davis or Sacramento.

I order a bowl of soup it was supposed to have chicken in it I saw very little of it, mainly what i got was a bowl of chicken flavored broth, I ordered ice cream with banana rolls as dessert, it was ok, nothing special, I think this place is overpriced for the quality of food that they serve, I askef for sprouts and leaves for my soup they brougt me some tha were ready for the trash can

they were so extremely nice. I loved their papaya salad kung pao chicken. Dishes were on the smaller size which is perfect because prices are reasonable. If you want to gorge, this place isnt the best place but if you want a light dinner, its a great place.

This place is very good family run business. It is more like home cooking than some commercial chain restaurant. Their soups and curries are my favorite. They can be a bit slow when it gets busy but it is worth the wait. A very good dining value.

What a great hole in the wall! Ive lived in West Sac for 4.5 years and Im sad Im just learning about this place. Servings are not huge but neither is the price tag. I definitely recommend checking it out!

Just with Stuffed Chicken Wings, appetizer is enough to fill me up. I love their Crab Fried Rice and Garlic Pork. Clean, very reasonable price and good food. I just wished that they are open on Sundays.

Tried combination and pineapple fried rice. They were not very good. The BBQ chicken with rice was good. Food price overall was good.

Service was quick, the meal was inexpensive ($8 for a full plate, but not enough for leftovers), and our server was great!
