I had heard good things about the resturant so decided to give Chin Chins a try... I made a delivery order of my staple Chinesse cuisine. When the order arrived it was double the cost of what it to have been.....but I smiled politely and took the order and even gave the driver a modest tip. Upon inspecting the order, they had doubled the portion which explained the price. The quality of the food left a lot to be desired...it tasted more like a lean cuisine dinner than resturant meal. A few days later I noticed they had charged the original cost of the meal to my debit and then an additional $63 a few days later....I have contacted management twice to rectify the situation. I admit my experience is far from the norm but in a city filled will such great food, atmosphere and excellent service; Chin Chins has demonstrated to me they fail to meet my standards on several levels.

Chin Chins @ Sunset Plaza used to be a fun, fab, delicious and healthy place to eat in the 80s & 90s. There was always a line to get in as the food was reasonable priced and fresh. The weight conscious had the option of choose ample half orders & everyone would go home with smiles on their faces. Sadly, those days are over. Currently, my rating of a good restaurant always starts with how good the "house" water is. With advanced technology in water filtration systems, this is not a hard thing to accomplish and an important element in cooking. It is also a measure of how important the owners deem the whole food experience to be. Let it be know that Chin Chins on Sunset serves by far the WORSE "house" water in ANY CITY..BAR NON! Pure Poison! Even if you want to spend $4 for bottle water, do you want this in your ice tea or food?

When you arrive convenient parking in a rear lot. You walk into a quaint, modern, classy and clean restaurant. A tall brunett hostess came to our table in fishnet stalkings with a super short skirt. I have to say her trashy look was NOT apealing as I was eating. Her attire should keep with the presentation of the restaurant. We then had a server who was very nice. The food, dumplings, chicken salad, BBQ and chicken fried rice were very good. The portions leaned to the small side but i will not complain as I left full. I will return to give it one more try and hopefully be met by a well rounded, classy and good eating establishment. I would have given them four stars but the hostess did play apart in my rating for service and atmosphere.

I hate to give poor reviews. I am hoping that the management of Chin Chin reads this. By far-- the worst food Ive ever had in LA. The steamed white rice was undercooked and tasted like the rice boiled in bags that you buy in the grocery store. The spring rolls were beyond awful and tasteless. The chicken gift wrap app was awful. The tangerine chicken on a scale of 1 to 10-- I am being nice here was a 1. The wait staff were all lovely. I love to walk from my apartment to sunset, but made the wrong decision eating here last night. I hope management reads this and takes this to heart.

Went there for my birthday dinner like I do every birthday and the last 2 have been terrible. My cousin waited 40 minutes for his orange chicken to be brought out because they cooked a batch and didnt like it so they remade it. Then my chicken chow mein noodles were over sauced, gooey, and not how they used to taste2 or 3 years ago. Mayve a new chef or new reciepe but it isnt the same. Chin Chin used to be one of my favorite restaurants but it looks like thatll have to change and Ill be having my future birthday dinners at a different restaurant.

Went to this Chinese restraunt last night and I use the term loosely. For restraunt prices it was not worth it food messed up 3 times food came out bit by bit with items we had not even ordered and items not even turning up whilst sitting on metal uncomfortable bucket seats on stools made for large than my 6 foot son. Apologises thrown at us as stuck on a recording loop . So I f you wish for a good restraunt with great service dont go to chin chin very disappointed

Got food poisoning. Ive eaten there before without a problem. Lately though i ordered take out, and after i ate about half my meal my stomach started getting really upset and i had a fever. I thought it was me, so i put the leftovers away. As soon as i had another bite the next day, same result. Definitely its the food. Something in it is bad. Excuse me while i go throw up now. But seriously, they should lose their "A" rating.

Friendly staff and a nice space to eat your lunch in. But the food was just kind of blah. Nothing wrong with it, but certainly nothing special. Prices are a little on the high side for the quality of food being served. Most the food was bland and reminded me of chain restaurant food. Yes, its fun to eat in the Sunset Plaza, but I wish the food was up to par with the surroundings.

One of the few authentic hand drawn noodle places in Philly! The hand drawn noodles are thinner and shaven noodles have a denser, more chewy texture.Unique Selling Points -Really reasonable prices for their portions. Youll get lots of noodles! But not a lot of meat. I think it costs extra for more meat fast service: no BS, if youre hungry and need some food ASAP.

This restaurant feels very similar to Taste of Chin Chin on Clement, from the name to the menu to the food. What I liked about the restaurant on Clement is the homemade feel of the dishes, which Chin Chin also portrays. Eating the Braised Pork tasted just like how my mom makes it. Tender meat with a layer of not too thick fat and skin, simply delicious.

Im surprised this place is not 4 stars and higher. We were served by very friendly, but not overly annoying staff. The food was reasonably priced for the location, very tasty, and good portions. The wines selection is not extensive, but the wine I got was very good and very reasonably priced. Thanks to our waitress, Nili!

Overpriced food with no flavor. Hubby went in for food to go. He ordered a Tsing Tao which was $7 + $2 to open it. The shrimp fried rice was flavorless, the fish was mushy and flavorless the Mongolian beef was decent. Prices were high our total bill was $54.00 for small portion sizes. Will never go here again.

Waited over 20 mins after being seated at a table with my wife ready to order but was never greeted by a server. Stood up and left without them even noticing we never got served. Place wasnt even busy, explains why. Also couple seated after us were served and given drinks.

this restaurant has been a long time favorite of mine! the food is consistently delicious and filling. i especially enjoy the "dim sum and then some" menu option. it lets you have "a little of this, and a little of that". dont miss the chocolate covered fortune cookies!
