Ive been here a good dozen times over the decades, and Im not sure why I came back this last time. We headed the bar to catch some basketball. The bar is a decent setup for sports viewing with a few large flat panels around the room. Ordered a chicken fajita burrito and draft beer. Both arrived to the table at room temperature--not good when youre a burrito and not good when youre a pint of Negro Modelo. The burrito is sizable, but most of the heft is courtesy of really bad refried bean sludge. The chips & salsa are pretty good, but I cant say the same for anything else on the menu.

Great service. Not the best food. Had the chips and salsa. Was very over seasoned! I order the quesadilla fajita with rice and beans. First the chicken was over smoked and dry. Red rice was plain no flavor. Beans are canned. They have pineapple juice in the menu and keep getting apple juice. Highly recommended not to eat if your reading craving Mexican food. Just got to pollo loco or chipotle.

The food here is great! May is wonderful. Ive known her since forever. She always make us feel at home and just part of the La Fogata family. I live in Seattle now, but i have no quarrels coming here for the food and best of all to see May.

First time coming, the hostis wasnt there so we had to walk to the bar and ask someone to take our seats and we Orderd 2 margarita drinks and in both drinks the lemons were rotten.

Food was reasonably good, service decent, mediocrity was somewhat offset by Negro Modelo on tap. A bit pricey for the quality but what does one expect in Walnut Creek?

Enchiladas are good. Tacos are alright. Tamales are not good. Salsa, rice, and beans are tasty. Margaritas are $9 and have very little tequila.
