I have been medically retired for 30 years, and because I have a very fixed income, I watch my buying power decline every year. Since my retirement, I have tried to stay out of grocery stores because it is very depressing to see how fast prices go up in regular stores. Up until last October I purchased most of my groceries at Costco because of their prices, but my situation changed and I had to start shopping at a grocery store. I went to this store 40 years ago when it was Food For Less, I vowed that I would never shop there again. Last October I started shopping at Walmart, but someone told me that WinCo was less expensive. After one large shopping trip, I plan to do almost all of my grocery shopping at WinCo...I was very impressed with their prices, and I was surprised how friendly and helpful the employees are. In my experience, if an employee isnt sure of the location of something, he will take me with him to be sure that I was able to find what I was looking for. I am also pleased with the cleanliness of the store. While the quality of the meat and deli departments arent up to Nuggets standards, they arent that far behind, either. My only gripes are that I have to bag my own groceries, and they dont accept credit cards. Good job, WinCo!

#1...Yes, I shop here monthly & save unbelievable amounts everytime I shop there. I find things I used to have to go to a health food store for AND PAID AT LEAST TWICE AS MUCH. That said, there are some items you can find for, a little less elsewhere BUT no place with the quantity of selections, tons of good brand names, kind & generous employees everywhere, clean & well organized and nice wide aisles that Winco has! Remembering this store is about low prices, only get produce you plan to use within a day or two, ((there are exceptions to this of course-potatoes, carrots, some fruits ect.-just keep areally good eye on your produce). In fact, thats the best recommendation for the whole store. Keep your eyes open & check your foods for mold, dates, rips, ect. This is when being able to read your labels accurately is so important. Winco stands behind their sales besides having the most helpful workers. Happy shopping-YOULL LOVE YOUR NEW GROCERY LIST-OH, youll spend less AND get to buy some of the wonderful things youve been denying yourself! :) please publish this rating not #2

Employee owned grocery store where you can find everything you want at less expensive prices than the large chains. WINCO is wonderful for every shopping need. They have bulk bins with lots of items from cereals to chips and dried fruits and nuts to all kinds of candy and baking products. The name brand items are less expensive but not out of date or near best selling date. For example...1 box Krusteaz muffin mix at brand grocery store is ~ $3.24 + & @ WINCO its $1.98. Cereal is exorbitantly priced at brand stores but very affordable at WINCO. This WINCO has a fresh bakery too. The people that work at WINCO are very hospitable and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND WINCO. There is also a RED BOX on the sidewalk out on the front of the store for your convenience.

I have six children four grandchildren and lots of friends and parties. The moment Winco opened its doors, I began saving at least 40% on all of my grocery bills. The store is CLEAN and has a HUGE selection of every kind of food. It is larger than all of the other grocery stores and all of the people that work there are so nice. I even left my purse in the bulk foods department once by accident, and the bulk manager brought my purse out to me! I order large quantities of food for special events and parties too, and I cant believe how much money I save. I have had so many compliments on the great food we cook from the many recipes offered (for free) at the bulk food isles. Thank you so much Winco!!! You have MANY fans! Kim

Today I was at Winco, searching for a can of pumpkin. I looked in the vegetable aisle and the fruit area, and could not find it. I asked 3 different employees where I could find this item. I got guesses from all 3. Not one of them offered to help me find the item. I am a senior and obviously disabled, a cane very visible in my cart. The last clerk I asked thought for a few minutes and gave me a couple of places it could be. I said to her I was too tired and hurting to walk anymore. She never offered to get it or get me help. I left without the can of pumpkin and found it later in the day at Walmart. Poor customer service.

I asked for the bag of frozen beef bones/knuckles for my dogs. The gentleman from the meat dept went back to check & learned they were out. So I continued on shopping. About 20 minutes later, he came rushing over to the other side of the store to me to tell me he had found a case from their recent shipment. It had not been opened yet. He looked the entire store over to find me. Wow. How nice is that? Im sorry I did not get his name. He said he works a little of every dept including maintenance, I think (in Vacaville). Thank you so much for going out of your way. Smokey Joe, Ellie Mae and I all appreciate you very much.

Disappointed. I went shopping with my roommate and her service dog. I have a service dog as well. We were nearly done when an employee walked up to us and said that pets werent allowed. We politely explained that they are not pets, they are service dogs. The employee had the audacity to say that they dont look like service dogs. Please, tell me, what is a service dog supposed to look like? According to the ADA, any breed of dog can be a service dog. Are they not service dogs because theyre Pit Bulls? Is it because they didnt have their vests on? Also, according to the ADA, vests are not mandatory.

Best grocery store in Solano County in terms of price, selection and service. The store is very clean and well-organized, unlike other discount grocery stories like FoodMax. I love the bulk bins, and the peanuts and candy are always fresh. The spice bins are also amazing, with spices like cinnamon available for a fraction of what it would cost to buy prepackaged. Even the free coffee in the mornings is a treat, and their freshly baked pizzas are good too, with a wider variety than Costco offers. Overall, an excellent supermarket, and one I recommend to friends often.
