Ok, I pushed the Yelp button for "checking in" but regret pushing it on a recent trip (2013). I read the reviews which mainly are bad but wanted to see for myself. I went in with an open mind. I went for the dinner service and because of the negative reviews asked if I could just look the place over before making my decision and boy was I surprised at the response. First they looked at me like I wasnt going to pay, then insisted I pay before entering. "REALLY.... " I was going to ask to speak with management but I already seen enough. Being rude isnt in my vocabulary. From what I could see, I didnt see anything special and it looked like any other buffet.. Management needs to do the following to improve relations with their customers (as far as Im concerned). First; they need to better train their employees at customer service if they are going to garner better ratings. Second; I dont think it would hurt if a customer wants to see what hes going to pay for.... "OMG, they have some secret food that we cant see without first paying for it!?" Third; what ever happen to pleasing the customer!? I guess the old adage of the "customer is always right" doesnt apply here. Wow, I was shocked. I wouldve returned to get the name of the rude employee but dont need anymore drama... Ill take hometown any day. At least they know how to treat people!!! ;-( bad

I had a horrible experience. I have lupus and Osteoarthritis and am not real stable on my feet and have take my time. When being seated the manager grabbed my arm hard when I asked about other seating and said we already have a table and tried to lead me .l then told her to let me go what was she doing When I tried to complain and asked for another manager I was told there was a kitchen manager so I asked to speak with that person, while speaking with the kitchen manager our waitress was wiping off our table whle people at our table were eating just so she could listen to what i was saying , when my friend told her what the hell He was eating why is she wiping she said he was cussing at her. our waitress went and told the manager that I was complaining about her.all of a sudden she came to our table with 3-4 other employees and acted as if she was going to throw us out. She said to apologize to the waitress and go get a refund. We were tired after waiting in line for an hour and coming from Hayward we were starving .My friend was forced to apologize to the waitress and we said we wanted to stay after all we waited and came far. After deciding to stay most of the wait staff wouldnt pick up our dishes and wouldnt give us drinks. Never in life have I been treated so poorly.

Literally one of the best value buffets you will visit anywhere! Amazing salad bar including an awesome fresh seafood salad, NOT overwhelmed with mayonnaise. Sirloin steaks grilled to perfection, unlike a recent steak house experience where you would pay at least triple for an overcooked cut of meet and NO follow up on my meal, that was the total opposite at Golden Corral. There was much more there to appeal to any appetite. Between great service, great selection and of course the chocolate fountain (no visit this trip), Ill be back more often than the annual Veterans Appreciation Day promotion they do annually near Veterans Day in November. Did I mention the perfectly grilled sirloin??? HOT TIP: if you come in before the 4 PM cut-off you can get the lunch menu price (ask about senior senior too for dinner and lunch) as long as you pay BEFORE 4 PM. Dinner items begin coming out at 4 PM and you are not charged more for eating dinner menu items (unlike other buffets Ive been to that DO), though youve only paid the lunch meal price, so if youre a REAL early bird dinner person or late lunch eater, this is an awesome deal where a few minutes difference can literally add another guest to your party, or just pocket the savings.

Went here yesterday and had a terrible experience. Actually ended up leaving & going to Steak n Shake... Came around 7pm, there wasnt many people in there at all. I didnt like the lady who rung us up as she had an attitude with my son, our waitress was fine.... the food however was GROSS!!! NOTHING and I mean NOTHING was fresh. All my son would eat was the macaroni. I seen the broccoli and said excuse me 4 times to the manager I believe and he said he was bringing out fresh broccoli, after awhile I went back up and it STILL looked so nasty... The cauliflower looked good so I got it and sat back down and literally gagged and spit it back out it was SOOO gross. The mash potatoes we could only take 1 bite of as well...Also, compared to other Golden Corrals, this one did NOT have a huge variety to choose from... Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone. Save yourself the trouble and go to the one on Southside blvd. WAYYY better. I didnt ask for a refund of the almost 40 dollars we paid, although I should have...We just left peacefully.

Good selection of food, although the main section (ham, roast, steak, etc) tends to get a long line which can take 10-20 minutes of waiting before you can order or self-serve (the line wraps the entire section, and people in line end up blocking the self-service items so not the best design flow). This location is somewhat smaller than others so seating can be limited during peak times. The dessert section also tends to run low during peak times. Table staff are polite, however they have large numbers of tables so you are better off getting your own refills on beverages. I was disappointed with the popcorn shrimp -- these were only somewhat larger than a pea, so not worth the effort. The roast was the best entree -- tender and very tasty.

Brunch was just OK, lots of food like pancakes that nobody was eating. Patty sausage and a little bacon; gravey for biscuits runny; very few desserts offered just pudding and chocolate fountain. Food line scrambled eggs seemed to be powdered with no egg taste. Food line had same offerings on both left and right sides. Alot of cheap to fix stuff (chipped beef white gravey and white sausage gravey to pour over biscuits or toast) that people werent eating. Cost me 12.00 including senior discount, an omlette with pancakes at IHOP is tastier for the same price. Recommend offering steak, ham steak, eggs benedict and perhaps breakfast burritos, breakfast enchiladas, some quiche.

I typically dont care for buffet style places, the idea of strangers dipping into the same dish as me kinda grosses me out. I will say though that the Golden Corral has some upsides. 1. You can order prime rib cooked to order straight off the grill. 2. They have a larger variety of food and deserts than your typical Sizzlers/Hometown Buffet. 3. For $5.95 a pound you can take home food. We had 5 containers full of steak, shrimp, ribs, fried chicken, and deserts and it only cost $37.00. Here are the complaints: the carpeted floor is filthy and does not get cleaned during table turn overs. The majority of the food is ok, not excellent, but not bad either.
