Wanted to try this place because of its history and location. The location is scenic and the atmosphere of the outdoor patio is nice, but thats about the best thing this place has going for it. The service wasnt the best, but definitely not the worst. Just dont expect the server to stop by your table very often. At one point during my meal I had to wait over 10 minutes before the server came back to the table so I could simply ask for a glass of water. Usually at restaurants someone comes to your table within 3-5 minutes of receiving the food to ask if everything is okay, not here. Now onto the food. For Mexican food, this place is not very good. I had the chicken enchiladas plate, and it was probably one of the most bland Mexican meals Ive ever had. And for the prices theyre charging its not really worth it. There are much better Mexican restaurants that charge the same price for higher quality. Lastly, whats up with the annoying country music?! This is southern California, not Texas! Very weird choice of music for a Mexican restaurant. Not sure if I would come back.

Called to get Reservations during Business Hours on Saturday after 11:00 AM - No one answered the phone and all I received was messages. Final message was that we do not answer the phone during business hours much to my surprise. I have been going here since 1980 when it was Senior Licos, The two sisters owned it later and now someone else; but the change in ownership has really affected on how things are managed, including the service and service provided. Since the Desperate Housewives of OC no are longer going there anymore, the service, and reservations have declined including the patio entertainment they used to have on Friday and Saturday nights. Guess I will just need to go to the Trabuco Oaks Steak House, instead which is near, in Trabuco Canyon. I have also been going to Trabuco Oaks Steak House for over 34 years, and they always provide the atmosphere, service, and food I desire with my lady friend. A very unhappy customer.

2 stars because service is lacking or completely missing, but the chips, salsa and tacos are good. Food is decent and I have been here over 10 times. I have yet to get a decent service from anyone there. Theres always more than enough staff working there. They are definately not short handed and I still seem to need to order 2 drinks every time I sit down and another 3 before they take my order. This is literly how long it takes to get your food or a waiter or waitress to come check on you. I really wish the owner would pay some more attention to the customer service side of the place and do some pepping up in that department. Possibly a consultant of sorts. the location is awesome and the outside atmosphere is cool. Just a shame many people I know and I have had a handfull of Crummy service and wait times. It also seems that many tables that had sat down after me have gotten their food first.

I pitty the person who considers this food good. I thought it would be at least safe to eat, and I chose the safest looking item on the menu, but I still got ill, and so did my wife. The servers are incompetent, and the the food is pathetic. We will never go back, and I have opened a case with the health department as we witnessed multiple health code violations. Now, as far as the sort of people who frequent this restaurant, very little can be said about them except that perhaps they represent the very worst Orange County stereotype you can manage. Selfish, entitled, rude, drunk, foul mouthed and mean spirited.

Beware of the rude son who is sick and tired of working for Rose Canyon Cantina & Grill, and owner who expects her customers to tolerate her sons behavior. Her very words were..."I dont care if you dont come back." She thought that I would tolerate her sons behavior after she revealed to me that the person who I was complaining about was her son. I would expect any parent whos child was being rude would discipline a bad behavior, but apparently not someone who thinks they get enough business.

Horrible... if you want an over priced stomach ache eat at roses! I live near the cantina and we have gone numerous times. EVERY TIME some one gets sick, and the service is horrible. Melanie and her staff are COMPLETELY UNGRATEFUL for your business. You would think they would treat locals better! The drinks are weak and over priced. The food is bland and gross. Each time we obviously get chips from the BOTTOM OF THE BAG!!! DO NOT EAT HERE! try the steakhouse down the road instead!

We made a reservation for the patio. The hostess blatantly lied to us claiming they called to say they could not accommodate our reservation on the patio (no message left). She was not the least apologetic. As they were about to sit us down inside another party the hostess knew personally came in and they sat them on the patio right away. We walked out and went to a great place in Ladera Ranch Casa Ranchero and spent $200 on food and drinks on their patio.

Honestly this place is disgusting. The food is bland and the cocktails, if you want to call them that, are horribly mixed. Melanie, the owner, is a complete psychopath and treats her staff like garbage. Staff and atmosphere is overall pleasant when she isnt around. She brings the whole room down and drains the staffs moral. She always smells like a drunk at the bar with the personality to match. I would honestly give this plac no stars if I could.

A great place to go and get away from it all. Super nice staff and even the owner visits to see how we were doing Food was good and the plenty of it. Loved the large patio area were we sat out among the Oak shade trees. Taco Tuesdays are our favorite. If youre looking for something different, with a relaxing atmosphere, then this is a place you should check out. While there is plenty of sitting inside, highly recommend the patio area.

KEEP AWAY IF YOU HAVE KIDS What a joke, I went to this place with my wife and 9 year old daughter. Customers were so drunk they could not even walk and still being served drinks. The foul language was terrible, one drunk lady fell onto our table. I asked the waiter to get me the manager and a lady came to said she was the owner, guess what? she was also so drunk she made no sense. I will be sure to tell everyone of your class act.

LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! The house margarita is bombbb. The owner melanie is so sweet and kind. Staff is great, sergio the bar tender knows whats up. If u are in the area and up for some adventure and good food with great people come here!!!! Seafood quesadilla is the best quesadilla ive ever had!!! Salads are great house made cilantro really had phenomenal flavor! Come support local business you cant go wrong here!!!

I love this place and I have never had a problem. I have been there three times with groups of five or more and we have had good service and decent food every time. I am going there on Cinco De Mayo (tomorrow) so we shall see if the service and food or good or not. As long as it is warm enough to sit outside nothing else matters. I drink Jack Daniels so I do not know about the other drinks...
