First, the atmosphere is really nice. We sat outside under the heat lamps and it was comfortable. I got the ribs and my girlfriend got the Halibut. The ribs were 2 stars out of 5. The meat was lacking, and much of it was fatty. And wherever there was meat, it was really dry and unpleasant to bite into. The Halibut was tasteless. It was drastically improved by squeezing some lemon over it. But the crowning glory of our meal was how horrible the chocolate crust cheesecake was. I think the cheesecake itself was rubber and the crust could have really been anything, but it definitely wasnt chocolate. We took one bite each and put it aside. And to top it all of, none of this is cheap. Not anywhere near worth the price!

I went to the Sand Dollar restarurant on Stinson Beach, on saturday. I ordered the so called special Scallops with mushroom and spinach - which cost $26 and is supposed to be a special. When the dish came, my jaws dropped since it contained just 3 scallops with three slices of mushroom and three pieces of wilted spinach on some mysterious sauce. I live in San Francisco but even in the swanky restaurants nobody charges $26 for 3 scallops. Talk of fleecing tourists!! This place takes the cake. Will definitely not recommend it to anyone. Oh by the way the menu did not mention how many scallops to the plate - thats how they fool people.

Truthfully, if there was less than one star, I would choose it for this unfortunate act of ignorance!! My "Single Mom" daughter went to the Sand Dollar July 12, 2017, based on recommendations during her stay at Stimson Beach. The "blonde haired" waiter serving my daughter, granddaughter, and special needs grandson, directly discriminated towards them because of my grandson. How unfortunate that in 2017, in Stinson Beach California, one of the more forward thinking states in America, a waiter would be ignorant or afraid of a 11 year old high functioning beautiful little boy. Please educate your staff!!!!

The food is not bad here. But the service is terrible and the attitude of the employees is poor. You ask them for anything extra and they roll their eyes and act as if you are bothering them. It was the worst service I have ever received. They even asked my party, who ordered food, to move to a stupid table next to kitched, so that a slightly larger party could sit down and order alcohol. And this party only stayed for about 20 min and then left. I think they feel they can treat people badly here, because there arent too many options for eating in Stinson. I will never go back here again.

Terrible service, TERRIBLE MUSIC on weekend makes you want to rip your ears off, if they get your order right you may or may not be lucky bc the food is tiny portions of horrendous nothingness, so that is a complete gamble..... ambiance? Where the hell is the beach? and why are all these yellow jackets attacking my party... getting some chips n beer at nearby store way better quality and value .... this place is a typical tourist trap marin joke of a restaurant. ... oh and you will definitely pay big bucks for their garbage they call food

Kept it simple as a first visit with a time constraint. Got the fish tacos with the catch of the day. I opted to not have the jalapeno sauce in them which might explain with the tacos felt very dry. Flavor was good but not balanced. Fried calamari appetizer was quite good. Very lax atmosphere with friendly staff. They have the smallest sink Ive ever seen in a bathroom (I found it charming though inconvenient if you have giant hands). Worth trying once at least.

On y vient surtout pour sa terrasse. Nourriture passable à des prix assez élevés, Stinson Beach oblige. Présence de groupes live souvent. Pas incontournable.

Learning about the discrimination that took place at your restaurant is appalling. Refusing to serve a disabled child is absolutely mind blowing. I hope the blonde male server who has provoked such an outrage from so many people learns a hard lesson. And that your establishment can better train and educate their employees. #fordeak

Crab salad sandwich probably had dungeness in it but sadly was so overly creamy I couldnt taste the crab. Ate my entire meal before having to ask to get my water refilled, which ended up being lukewarm. For $19 I expected better service and a better crab sandwich... the fries were pretty good, and at least the portion size was large.

Had a great lazy Saturday morning meal with cocktails. It was great, every one was so friendly. I think the 10/16 from "Lonnie" about the menu being written in Arabic and no one there speaking English is either a troll or mis-posted and is about some other place. I had a great time and will absolutely go back.

The food was terrible and the service was not any better! Every guest table received bread and butter but ours! Regardless of the bad service, the quality of the good was not worth the price we paid for! Avoid unless you are starving and have some $$.

We had the Nantucket Crabcakes, which were the best crab cakes we have ever had along with the most scrumptious swordfish tacos. We tell everyone they need to go to Muir woods for a nice hike then end the day down on the beach at the Sand Dollar...

Great spot off the beach for a beer with fish and chips out on the patio, or a glass of wine inside with one of their superb entrees like the local salmon served on a bed of local chard. Evening live music sets a very pleasant atmosphere.

Have eaten here half a dozen times and always had a good experience. Outdoor seating is great. Fish tacos, fish and chips, burger, are all very good. St Louis ribs and the stuffed clams are fantastic. All together an enjoyable xperience.

Had a wonderful brunch here. Sat outside in the sun. Ordered the delicious pulled pork hash which is pulled pork mixed with tomatoes, onions, peppers, celery served over chunky fries with slices of toast and a perfectly poached egg.

Had a great time here, fresh oysters, decent food, too pricey for what it is. Bartender was loudly expressing feelings about certain things that he should have thought twice about especially not knowing everyone in the room.

After hiking down from Pantoll Station, you have a few choices for a very fun lunch; I personally really enjoy the Sand Dollar; you probably wont remember the food forever, but youll likely remember the place for what it is.

The Sand Dollar lost my business with their dog-unfriendly policy. I am not going to tie up my dog out front! Try one of the three other restaurants that do allow dogs, Siren Canteen and Parkside Cafe being the best.

Blond male waiter discriminated and refused to serve my disabled nephew. My nephew was well behaved and did nothing wrong, other than be visibly handicapped. Its 2017, how did we forget to have compassion. #fordeak

Insanely overpriced mediocre food. I ordered the shrimp salad for lunch for 20 bucks and it came with 5 small shrimps, 4 olives, lettuce and half an egg. Absolute joke. Dont go here, total tourist trap!

If you want to know the truth about this horrible establishment read the customer reviews on Facebook. This restaurant hired staff that refused service to a special needs CHILD. Absolutely disgusting.
