Where do we start...passing through Sonora and googled the best food. For some strange reason this place came up as #2. When we got there we were greeted by a friendly enough bar tender who would be waiting on us. He took our order and then brought us our beer had clearly gone bad. Strike 1, but no big deal. Then after the server brought our would be salad to the patron next to us (which she ate) he then 20 minutes later brought us the completely wrong order. On his was to bring the proper table the order another family behind us questioned where there food was as it had been an hour. He then proceeded to bring them the incorrect food. After he rectified that situation and some 30 minutes later he returned with our correct burger but no salad. He forgot that. Our fries were cold and tasteless with the exception of the cold, raw, minced garlic on top. The burger was juicy, but undercooked and again completely tasteless. Or salad arrived a few minutes later swimming in dressing that literally tasted like galic dishwater. Needless to say we got the check promptly after that and are now continuing our drive home with upset tummies. And I have now lost all decision making rights per my boyfriend because I picked this let down of an establishment. Dont go.

Stopped in for Lunch around 12:30 pm on a Wednesday. We were warmly greeted and ask for seating preferences. There were three of us and we opted for the "tall" tables near the back of the seating area. After only a few moments one of the waitresses came by and apologized for the delay. I didnt even consider it a delay, but she assured us that our waitress would be with us shortly. Almost immediately, a very friendly waitress came and asked if we would like anything to drink and if there was anything special we needed or wanted. We all ordered simple fare lunch items and those orders came out within a very reasonable amount of time. The place was actually quite busy by now and from what I could tell, there were no available tables left. Clear view of the kitchen area with what looked like three men and one woman working the kitchen. The atmosphere was pleasant and from looking at the way the walls of the restaurant were done, I would say that they had quite a history behind them. The food was great, the service was exceptional and I really couldnt think of anything that would prevent me from visiting again. Highly recommend this place.

So-so, glorified fast food, insanely busy during the Christmas break. We didnt order anything extraordinary (a steak sandwich, fish and chips, and a green salad), but didnt see the food until the whopping 1 hour and 20 min later. And the "cucumber and feta salad" was nothing more than a super salty dressing on top of, of course, naturally salty feta and olives - the latter being the only edible parts and did not warrant an 80 minutes wait - so no, I wouldnt order that again. Not sure why this restaurant is so highly rated on Google, must be a really sad restaurant scene here, although I find that hard to believe. And if you thought we were expecting too much at a peak time: another party of 3 ordered their food at the same I was complaining (1 hour into the wait) and was eating at the same time we were. I understand that they are busy, but why is the kitchen more busy for some than the others? Instead of an explanation or an apology we got the "I cant make the kitchen go any faster." Lousy service to match their lousy food. Just stay away.

I really want to love this place. The food is good. Ive never had a meal here that left me unsatisfied or wasnt anything but delicious. Its the service. One example, we had come in, were seated, and waited near 15 minutes before just getting up and leaving. No one had come over to us in near 15 minutes. I hope that they can get it together with service. The sweet potatoe fries are a must try, and otherwise the food really is good. The staff is very friendly when theyre on top of their game...but just be prepared for potentially not so good service.

If you pass through Sonora and you dont eat here, your restaurant-choosing privileges should be revoked indefinitely. If you spend an entire day in Sonora and you fail to eat here, you should serve mandatory jail time for criminal negligence to your gastrointestinal system. If you are in Sonora for multiple days and miss out on Diamondback Grill, I dont know what youre doing with your life. 11/10, would gorge myself on delicious, grilled foods again anytime Im within 50 miles of this place.

Dont get me wrong most of the food here is good, but this menu has had nothing new to offer in a very long time. Specials are no longer special after they have been on the board for over a month. The owner/guy who runs the wine bar is a bit of a yuppie snob. I may not look like I live in the burbs, and I dont wear polos with khaki cargos, but I do know wines and I do have the pocket book to pay for what I like. Please dont treat me like my pockets are not deep enough for your service.

Stopped by here on the way home from Calaveras big trees for post-hike burgers. She got a diamondback burger that was cooked a little too rare with onion rings. I got grilled chicken sandwich on sourdough with upgraded garlic fries. My chicken sandwich, the garlic fries, and burger were all soulless. The food was cooked well but it had no soul. The onion rings were the best part

The food was decent once we got what was ordered. Cooking a hamburger to medium shouldnt be that hard for a place that call itself a grill. Also most people in the world know that American French fries are served hot. We were not the only table that had to return thier meals to get hot fries. The wine selection was local and ok but nothing I would drive out of my way to get.

Great food and service. I have been to the restaurant several times and have yet to be disappointed. Dont believe the reviews that are less than five stars from the people that always find something to complain about. Also, when I was there last they were displaying art from a local artist and I must say the paintings were enjoyable to look at.

Excellent find in a small town. Though we didnt get a chance to try the wine or cheese, their available selection looked good! Lunch was excellent! I had the guacamole burger with sweet potato fries, and my girlfriend had the portobello sandwich with house salad. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Recommend!

The place is always packed because the food is quite good, but it is SO NOISY. Sound just bounces off the walls making conversation difficult. Drinks are expensive 3 ice teas, for myself and grand kids, cost me $9 and no one offered refills so next time its water. The wait staff was fine but not exceptional.

Good food to be had here; reasonably priced and the wine wasnt bad, either. The choice is, perhaps, a little limited but maybe its better to do a smaller choice very well. Garlic fries were an excellent accompaniment to the burgers, too. Atmosphere good, service above average. Recommended.
