I have been 3 times in this place and they got my wrong order. Some of the employees dont understand the different between street tacos and soft tacos even though they have it in the menu. When I order one way, they give me the other way around. Next, I ask for a big order but I notice that they charge me more. They still making mistake with 2 soft taco when I order them 2 street tacos. I have to repeat 3 times so that the employees get their message right. Lastly, I order a 1 street tacos and a chicken soup. But all I got is 1 street taco de carne asada and 1 street taco de pollo asado. When I told them they got the wrong order they gave me apology but told me the cost of the chicken soup that I didnt ask for a new order but a solution.

Not sure what people are talking about here? This place is dirty and the food is sub par at best. Taco shells are of the store bought variety. The carne asada tastes like the meat is so over-cooked its burnt. If you order from inside you will smell like grease for the rest of the day. It only takes 2 minutes and your clothes are permeated (improper exhaust? Dont know dont care) The outside tables havent been properly cleaned since the Clinton administration. They are the only restaurant (I use this term loosely) that Ive ever seen that was down graded to a "B" by inspectors. They corrected the problem (whatever it was) in short order to their credit.

I shouldnt review this place since it the local neighborhood secret. Its located in an small strip that is away from the shopping crowds, just down the street from the local junior high. No lines, no crowds, good food. A small store that also sells taco to eat out back on the patio. I usually stick to the carne asada burrito or the "street tacos", which are actually pretty good. Please dont start going and make this place too popular.....I hate waiting in lines.

Been there a total of 4 times. 3 of those 4 times they are unable to get my order right. Order a Cali burrito no sour cream with guac. Get Sour Cream. Check receipt, confirm that it says no sour cream. Order a Cali burrito no sour cream with guac. Get a Surf and Turf burrito (which is like entirely liquid with a few shrimps in it). Order a Cali burrito no sour cream with guac. Get no fries in the burrito - so I got a carne asada burrito?

I liked the old Rudys better. The girls who work the cash register seem bored. Last time I called for take out, the girl asked if I could hold, then put the phone down and talked for five minutes about her personal life, but never came back on the line! In a market where theres a Mexican restaurant on every corner theyll need to up the game to keep customers loyalty.

Rudys is hands down one of the best taco shops in all of SD. Ive lived here for over 15 years and have yet to find a place that makes a better taco, carne asada burrito, or California burrito. The owner is personable and will always chat if he isnt too busy. The only other place that compares is the second taco shop they opened up in La Costa.

After a 25 minute wait for 5 rolled tacos I asked if they forgot my order. Countless people that came in after me were served. After they said my order was being worked on I waited five more minutes. Still, nothing. I asked for a refund and they said no. I asked for my tip back and they said no. Probs dont go here.

Love this place! Fast, convenient, but most of all its delicious! They have an excellent menu and plenty variety. The meat they use for their carne asada is tender and spiced perfectly. Plus they have a lot of great beers on tap and in the fridge. I usually get the surf and turf tacos, theyre amazing!!!

Best mexican food in del mar/solona beach. It is inside a liquor store which only makes it cooler. Authentic and a very large menu. Salsa is unique with the best amount of kick on the hot scale and flavor to go along with your meal. Also, the prices arent expensive. Overall, GO HERE, and try it out!

The cashier is this place is kind of rude. They also used to allow texted orders, but they would always wait until the costumer was there to make the food. The food itself its a hit-and miss, and if you are looking for a place to eat during lunch time parking its terrible, and the wait time its too.

I was not impressed with this place at all. I had 2 beef tacos and I wasnt expecting store bought taco shells! the shop is a small taco shop located in a liquor store. very little seating. like 10 seats max. I am not sure why all the good reviews, but I would much rather eat at Cotixans.

Great food. The breakfast burritos are excellent. Since Rudy sold there have been some unfavorable changes, and sometimes the staff can be weird. For the most part everyone is nice and its an awesome spot for some really delicious Mexican food!

Growing up in San Diego, Ive had the opportunity to try all kinds of Mexican Food. Rudys is the best. High quality meat is what makes the difference you can taste. Order it raw to go and cook it up yourself on the grill. It is amazing!

Just cant say enough about this place. They actually just did a bit of a redesign as well. There isnt a carniceria display anymore but the quality and freshness is all still a+. I also recommend the carne asada taco or pastor burrito.

My favorite mexican food spot in SD. The california burrito is sooooo BOMB!!! I think about this place a lot when Im on the other side of the country. Been going here for 15-20 years, and will continue to go here for the next 15-20 :)

Its a place Ive been going to for years, and slowly but surely, its falling by the wayside. A burrito ( which is supposed to be a staple of any taco shop ) is meant to showcase the quality of youre meat, not the neglect of your cooks.

I experienced a massive success with the breakfast burrito here. It was an adequate size and cheaper than some other burrito places in the area. Also, they let me substitute avocado for bacon for a small extra fee.

Best shrimp tacos I have had in Solana Beach/Del Mar area. A little spicy, but tons of different flavors to go well with. The corn tortillas are probably the best Ive ever had.

I have occasionally parked in front of this place, when going to The Rockademy to rehearse with my funk band. The food looks pretty good, and they definitely have beer.
