Wow! What a great dining experience. My servers name was Glen (shout-out) and he was fantastic. Im not a beer drinker but he recommended a delicious wheat beer that was slightly sweet and it was a hit. The restaurant is still pretty new so you can go and get seated right away. The menu is creative and everything that I had was perfect. My favorite was the "Charred octopus" dish. The octopus was cooked where it was tender and not chewy or rubbery. Unfortunately, not everything was rosy. The bread pudding (which is my favorite dessert choice) was already sold out by 6pm on Sunday night. The chef needs to get his stuff together!! That is not okay! Otherwise, awesome place to eat. Open floor plan with TVs on the walls and many beers on tap. Great for large groups and friends, not so much for intimidate dinners. Delicious food!!

It was a great beer and food experience, the wait staff that wasnt our waiter was excellent. But the guy who was waiting on us, not so much.. he seemed busy with other stuff... we had to get up and order our beers at the bar.. he made fun of my friend for ordering a strawberry beer (because its delicious) not calling it manly enough. Jokes aside.. it wasnt cool. And when he gave us our ticket to go, he never came back for it.. I had to get up and walk to the bar to hand it to him. If the food and beer wasnt so great I dont think wed come back.. regardless of the rain outside, or your title. (seemed like he was a manager) we were there to spend money and he just didnt care about our table.

They offer an excellent selection of drinks and recommendations. You would expect that from an establishment like this. The real highlights of The Halford are the environment and food. This is the cleanest, the quietest, and the roomiest brewery I have ever been to. Its like a massive living room at a rich persons house. Definitely the nicest brewery Ive ever been to. Their menu, although small, is amazing. You normally dont expect food this good from a brewery. The only set back is the service is slow. Both times I was here it took awhile to get the bill. Other than that the service is great.

Excellent food choices, excellent beer. Would be 5 stars if service would match. Place is still pretty new and its obvious to me that there is not a lot of bar/restaurant management experience here. Service is slow and unorganized, food prep was random (some flawless, some very undercooked) and came out at inexplicable times. Reservations, even 1 hr late, take priority over no-reservations that had been waiting for 45 min. In general, not a lot of rhyme or reason behind most things service related. Please hire an experienced manager and make this a perfect local place!

This place! Great beer option and the food is on point. The beer menu is organized by taste which I found very helpful because Im not a fan of hoppy and floral flavors. The highlight though was the food!! We ordered the mac and cheese, pig ears, fries, the Halford salad, and pork belly. When the food arrived the table was silent (now you know thats a good sign). Everything was very fresh and most of it scratch made. My one complaint is that I wish this place was closer.

Been coming here regularly since they opened back in 2016. Santa Clara desperately needed this restaurant, and the culinary and beer scene around here has improved a hundred fold since The Halford opened. The food is all amazing and the beer selection is second to none. The wait staff and owners are awesome, and The Halford has really hit its stride recently. You cant go wrong with coming here for lunch, dinner, or just a couple of casual drinks.

Fabulous! Here I am in this funky little strip mall and suddenly Im transported to a land of folks who share my passion for beer and food. The love, pure love, the chef has for food is evident in every dish. The beer selection offers an option, several options, for creative pairing. The pacing was PERFECT and if youre a foodie you will appreciate just how important that can be to your overall experience. I will return.

Phenomenal beer selection with knowledgeable staff who can help find the best beer for you. The beers themselves were excellent as were the waygu burger and flank steak -- so tender and flavorful! The pace is unhurried, too. If I could change one thing it would be taking down the flatscreen tvs. I dont have the conversational skills to compete with a man eating a scorpion on whatever show was on the screen behind me.

The Halford had just opened when I was there, pre-grand-opening. The staff was friendly, and the food was delicious. I had the BBQ crispy pork. It was not a large portion, but Ill take quality over quantity any day. There was an excellent selection of beers organized usefully on the beer menu. With so many taps, it would be nice to add a cider selection, but I certainly wont complain about the options...

A few close ones were in the area and I have been wanting to come to this restaurant for a while... This place was absolutely amazing! Although the decor was not up to par, the service, food and beer was outstanding. Still 5 stars. My meal reminded me of traveling through Europe and seeing mussels and potato fries on billboards when I was in France last summer. Awesome!

To describe The Halford as having pub fair is doing its food a HUGE disservice. If you walk into a pub you would expect a generic burger and fish and chips. The Halford is not that kind of pub. I originally came for the 70 beers on tap but ended up staying (and coming back!) for the food! It has a very well curated and diverse menu that will appeal to anyone.

This is a nice sports bar to visit and get some delicious fresh food. The happy hour specials are great and they have a huge beer selection! Their stouts were amazing. Also, the food was quick to come out and our waiter was so friendly. The sausage is made fresh each day by the chef and everything else was amazing. Id recommend the beet salad as well!

Terrific spot on Halford off El Camino. The beer list was great and extensive, and the guidance and suggestions from the fellow who waited on me also hit the spot. The Classic-ish Mac n’ Cheese was tasty and not too filling. Id recommend this place to locals and business travelers, myself being the latter.

It was pretty busy, but not tha busy. We sat for maybe 15 minutes, we were talkig, so no big deal, before we asked for our server. Lots of servers, just not one in our area. We sat and talked for 2 hours, got 1 drink, never saw a server again until she brought the bill and asked of we needed anything.

The food variety is welcome, and the beer selection is pretty big. However, a lot of the beers lean towards the more well known varieties and has a "Yardhouse" feel. In terms of finding a beer, you cant go wrong. If youre in the mood to try something new/different/rare, it might be a bit more tricky.

Food was great and fancy. Chef from another gastro pub in SJ. So many brews served in 4 or 8 oz. glasses, so you can try different ones. Menu is organized well. Staff is friendly. Very clean place. Only thing that bothered me was it was a little too bright in there. Otherwise a really nice place.
