It seems that everybody has their favorite dish at La Toscana. For my mother it is the cannelloni. For me its the gnocchi with pesto sauce which I had (again) on my most recent visit. The burrata was also good as was the very tender calamari but it was the gnocchi I thought of days later. Thats when you know something is exceptional. How I wish I had the chops to make these pillows of yumminess at home but alas I dont. There are so many other dishes on the menu I would like to try but my meal always starts the same way. I get my menu, spend five minutes hemming and hawing over what to have and then the waiter shows up to take my order and like a food zombie I say "gnocchi with pesto please". And Im never disappointed.

We came here at 7pm on Ash Wednesday, without a reservation. Although the parking lot was full, and the bar was buzzing, we were swiftly escorted to a table in the dining room. Our waitress, Alex, was quick, efficient and friendly, although she was dealing with an overflow crowd, and a lazy helper. She bussed several tables herself while we were there. My caesar salad was great. It was a real caesar, with anchovy and mustard flavors, and just enough saltiness to give it a bite. I had the cacio e pepe, which was a light, peppery sauce on pasta. My wife had the spinach and ricotta ravioli, which she greatly enjoyed too. It was a pleasant evening, with delicious food and great service. We will go again soon.

Came in here for lunch, great atmosphere. Got an appetizer and their special squid pasta , that was supposed to be unreal. Well , the appetizer was too oily, and that pasta wasnt good , smelled bad and tasted bad too,covered in seafood, we ate just the shrimps, and had to leave. Got a 60+ dollars bill , that pasta being 21, so for 2 pastas that we didnt eat 42 bucks , not happy at all. The only good thing about our experience was the service, very friendly and attentive.

I was very disappointed on Mothers Day when I was told that we had to give up our table at a certain time. I have never heard of such a thing. I have been going there for years and this has never happened. It was Mothers Day a time to celebrate myself and all the other Mothers. This was just not nice. No one should be rushed. The reason to go out to dinner is to relax and enjoy. I will never come there again for a special occasion.

Surprisingly open space in the dining room provides a much better atmosphere than I expected. Very good food, reasonable prices and portions at a time when Italian restaurants have either greatly reduced the portion sizes or dropped quality along with large portions. Service has always been excellent with prompt seating and staff willing to make recommendations.

Surprising great food considering the next to 101 location and dated exterior. Service was outstanding. Traditional Italian served with high quality meets and sauce. Good place for families and almost upscale atmosphere. Try it... It will become a favorite.

My wife and I have been frequenting this restaurant more than 30 years. Best food in northern CA. The entire place is a joy from ownership down thru the busboys. We know most by name. Our favorite place in the North bay. Will be back often/soon.

My friends and I have enjoyed many a tasty lunch at the restaurant. The half order roasts w/ ceasar salad are a great buy! Service is very pleasant and the folks are very accommodating in making substutions.
