Food good service, lousy. Seriously, when the manager does not make eye contact with the guests, something is wrong. We ordered the prix-fixe or 3 entries for $30 and the first 2 came out in a reasonable manner. The 3rd course took a half-hour longer with no explanation from the wait staff, again, the manager never, once asked us how our meal was or even helped out the other waiters. We asked and were told this is how the management runs things. You guys need to set a better tone, the front desk at the Embassy Suites, where we are staying, told us later, the service is lousy. If this keeps up with the Corner View restaurant out of business, I dont see a future for you guys. Im going to NOVO tomorrow night and ate at Palazzo Giuseppe previously with no complaints.

There were 8 of us and we asked for separate checks. Andrea Fabbrelti, operation manager, said no they couldnt do this. I mentioned a group of 25 were planning to come for dinner and would need separate checks and he responded he could not accommodate us BUT his solution was to collect cash from each participant and then use one credit card. When there is a group of 25 ordering appetizers, wine and dinner, the cost is unknown and customers dont always have cash. It would be nice for a service type business to be a bit more accommodating to the customer. The revenue generated by a group this size, or any size, one would think would merit a little extra time in putting credit cards through the system.

My friend and I went to dinner there about two weeks ago. The ambiance was nice but the food definitely was not. The Caesar salad was mediocre. It was presented as a wedge salad with several anchovies on top. The dressing was fine but serving a classic Caesar with a piece of wedge lettuce is not, nor is presenting the salad with several little anchovies on it without inquiring the customer first! I ordered a simple penne arriabiata which was tasteless and watery. My friend ordered the gnocchi and we were both extremely disappointed. Needless to say I will not be returning.

Two italian say: BEST ITALIAN RESTAURANT IN CA!! Rarely we experienced something so near to the original foods we taste at home. "Risotto del Cusio" is simply great, please try it, even if in the Cusio (a North region) there are no shrimps. :) Been there on Oct 5th 2011. ------- Semplicemente il miglior ristorante italiano che abbiamo provato in California. Risotto a livelli novaresi, ingredienti di qualità, cena soddisfacente. Ottimo davvero! Ci siamo stati il 5/10/11.

How on Earth have I missed out on this place for so long?! Fantastic menu, great ambiance, and a very fun wine list. If you are a California wine drinker, leave your comfort zone and try some of their great Italian wine - it comes alive with the food. There are complaints about service time, but in the times we have been there - the servers have been perfect. Attentive, conversational, and not even a little overbearing. Highly recommended.

SLO has so many restaurants but Buona Tavola is one of the few that are truly exceptional. Every meal I have here is sculpted from a few high quality ingredients to make a unique and delicious dish. Their seasoning is substantial and yet subtle at the same time, letting the primary flavors stand. Always fresh and bright. The service is proud, polite, prompt and casual, all at the same time.

Ive never had a bad experience here! The food is always solid, the service is pretty darn good too. Youre definitely going to get a little fancier style of Italian food here vs. the more traditional Italian American bowl of red sauce. When youre in the mood for Italian, but something a little different, a little more refined, but not stuffy, then go here. Your taste buds will thank you.

Delicious food; however, they refuse to do separate checks. They are losing our business because we have a monthly movie group and would love to eat there afterwards. I think they are actually losing money by not providing a separate check service. I know many groups who refuse to go there because of their policy. Whats the problem???? with doing separate checks. This is the best Italian restaurant in San Luis Obispo. The food is exceptional albeit a bit pricey. They have a wonderful patio out back and you want to make sure you sit in it. If you want a festive romantic night out this is the place to go. Lunches are a little more affordable with similar food so thats an option if budget is more of a concern for you.

We Almost didnt go in because the restaurant was empty and it looked a little pricy. But they took us out back to their patio and that is where the magic was! Hardly any empty seats! Beautifully decorated and wonderful service. We had just returned from a trip to Italy and this food was just as good or better. The Caprese was wonderful!

Traveling through town looking for something fantastic and found it here! We will find a reason to drive 1500 miles to return! We have eaten in authentic Italian restaurants from Italy to Europe, the US and Canada to Asia, and the Caribbean, and Buona Tavola is by far our favorite! Authentic, fresh, delicious! Eat here!

Had the opportunity to go to Buona Tavola last night for the first time and it was FABULOUS!!! From the perfect wine to the yummy salad (almost felt like licking the plate it was so good) to the delicious seafood pasta to the fantastic dessert, every bite of the meal was to die for. Cant wait until our return visit.

This little hole in the wall Italian restaurant is a facet of fine dining in SLO. The wait staff is always attentive, the food is always delicious. If youre looking for a nice Italian meal downtown, you cant go wrong.

Here for a rehearsal dinner for approx 40. We were seated in the outside patio in May and it was very comfortable weather-wise. The food was delicious, service efficient.
