I originally ordered pizza for take out, I will say that was very good! Then we decided to dine in, what a mistake!!! The Hostess was very sweet and welcoming. Our waitress, Francesca what a rude b...... took her 15 minutes to come to our table to even get our drink order and no the place was not busy. I ordered the manicotti very disappointed. The Owner, Mama Catarina walked past our table at least 5 times. Did she ever stop by the table to say "Hello"? no!! When we laid the credit card down to pay, Catarina was there in a heartbeat. Did Catarina ask "How was your dinner"?, "Hope to see you again"? No! I would rather drive to SB or hell, make it myself then waste my money or energy on place like this. What Customer Service doesnt exist in Lompoc? Well it does.... stopped off at DVine wine tasting, the Owner Karen is amazing!!! Everyone needs to go to DVine and hey, if you dont like wine .. no worries they serve beer too! Cheers!

Great food! Service ranges from okay to outstanding. Food ranges from good to outstanding. When Mama Caterina fires up the kitchen, the food is 5 star, with best-Ive-ever-eaten soups, great veggies, perfect pasta, wonderful entrees, and nice desserts. Owners are from Marsala Sicily; if you understand Italian culture & cooking (albeit americanized) youll understand this restaurant. It varies a little from day to day but its always good. Sometimes their marinara is too sweet, sometimes the cook gets carried away with salt or pepper, sometimes the service is erratic. Dont get mad, just politely ask for something else. Nicks Special

Expensive! The food was delicious, but depending on what you ordered the proportions might not be enough. I had a calzone and had enough for left overs, but my wife had stuffed pasta and was disappointed. The décor was great, obviously a fancy restaurant. The door was unlocked when we got there, but we didnt realize that they werent open for dinner service yet. They let us sit down and served us water and bread until service started. Without going into details, we were slightly disappointed with the service even though they had a good start. Overall, this place was too expensive and we arent likely to go back.

Horrible tasting Italian food. Bread served when you arrive with warm butter on the table Strike 1. The house salad dressing tastes like it came from Wishbone bottle Strike 2. Then I asked for a sample of gnocchi 1-2 to see if I liked, they could not do it. So I ordered penne arribiatta, the pasta was over cooked and sauce nothing special. Strike 3. The decor doesnt look like an Italian restaurant. Gets 5-4 stars on Yelp or Trip Advisor because it is the only Italian restaurant in town. I expected more from owners coming from Italy, they have gotten complacent serving mediocre food.

Attentive service, generous portions (including wine), and delicious food. I tried the Chicken Picatta with fettuccini alfredo, which was really excellent. Not too heavy, chicken was lightly breaded with a fantastic lemon butter sauce. The waiter, for no real reason, gave us the dessert for free. It was the Torta Siciliana, which was also outstanding. This is a cut above Salettis where it matters - food, service and price. You wont be sorry! (The only "down" side is that the atmosphere is a bit dated and dark. Other than that, no complaints.)

La Botte is an Italian Restaurant in my hometown (Lompoc, CA). I took 4 close friends there Friday night and the meals were all delicious, from the Eggplant Parmesan, Pollo (Chicken) Marsala and Spaghetti Carbonara - we all had more than enough to eat (great leftovers) at a great price. The service was good, the bread at the table was wonderful along with the salads and soup ordered. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and one of my friends is Sicilian by descent and he LOVED it. We will be back. Thank you Agate family, LM (01/08/11)

Delicious and charming. I am always a skeptical Italian food diner due to the fact I am Italian. Do not let the outside of the building fool you, the service was incredible and the food even better. Do make sure you lock your car and set the alarm though. To top off a wonderful evening the owner of the establishment stopped by our table for a very pleasant conversation. The music was fun and very Italian as well. Thank you, my husband and I will return every time we pass through Lompoc.

Went for dinner here on Tuesday night, came back for dessert Thursday. The meat ravioli with meat sauce was rich, delicious and eminently satisfying. The meat sauce was so good, my husband said he could drink it out of a cup. We enjoyed the creme brulee so much on Tuesday that we came back for seconds. The entree prices were a little steep, but the glass of wine we ordered was very large; like getting 2 for the price of one.

My sister was visiting. She adores Itallian. I was telling her that we had heard good things about our little local family style restaurant. Unfortunately, we did not have a great experience. They delivered our food but forgot my sisters!!!! We could not wait around as we were going to a movie. No apology. We shared our meals with her. They were good but did not make up for the really bad service

Great food! We got bread right out of the oven-yum! The pastas weve had over the years here have always been delicious. I absolutely love the chicken marsala -so yummy. Another favorite is the penne arrabiata that i usually ask to add shrimp too-divine. The tiramisu and creme brulee are outstanding (im not sure i tried anything else as i love these two desserts but one day i will for sure....)

The restaurant atmosphere was nice but the food was only okay. The gnocchi was a bit stodgy. The cannoli looked pretty, but the filling was not piped throughout the pastry tube leaving a gap of nearly 2 inches in the middle. The mascarpone/cream filling had so much cinnamon that it was almost unpleasant.

Warm, cozy atmosphere. Friendly staff. Outstanding food. Steamed clams in a garlic & tomato broth followed by the broiled ribeye & shrimp scampi with penne alfredo ....and plenty of fresh hot bread throughout. Best restaurant meal Ive had in years. Best Italian food Ive had in the last 25 years easy.

Very high quality Italian food. I imagine every single item on menu in made in house, including pasta. Service is very professional. Would give it 5 stars if the restaurant itself was nicer. Feels kinda like a dirty pizza shop. Or like it was converted awhile ago from something totally different.

Best among the few options in the town, however, entrees are pricey and fail to meet a desirable portion size in my opinion. Would i recommend it yes but if you want the best Italian meal money can buy Id have to recommend Trattoria Uliveto in Orcutt, its worth the drive and worth the price.
