Servers didnt seem organized. Hostess sat us at the bar, per our request so we could watch the chef at the grill (usually the best entertainment). As we sat, another costumer approached a waitress to ask when they would be served - the waitress responded that she was getting right to them, that they were really busy. Made me count all of 7 tables with customers - place wasnt even half full and no one was at the outside tables because it was windy. (Hmm... Lets keep waiting to see what happens..) We sat with no one making eye contact or greeting us for almost 10 minutes (note that the bar seating is next to the wait station). No water, no drinks, but at least we had the menus. Hostess finally came to check with us and said she would wait on us (too bad for the waiters - we normally tip well - especially if we know they are hustling) Hostess finally got us drinks and water and took our order. Food was pretty good - the fried green beans were our favorite part. The salmon blt & shrimp po boy were pretty good, too. The chefs at the grill were apparently not having a great shift - possibly due to the servers being new (they didnt know the different dishes) - so there was very little interaction with the chefs/cooks during our visit. However we did thank them for a delicious meal and were rewarded with big smiles and heartfelt thanks. I think the staff needs to work together better, because something is missing. When we go out, we like to enjoy the entire experience - and left feeling like we werent really the customers. Only one couple was laughing and talking with the hostess as we left - all the others left pretty quietly. And the place never filled up - strange for a Thursday night. For spending $70+ dollars (we had a bar drink each, they werent great), there are better places to go. (Looking back, we almost walked out before our drink orders were even taken, but decided to give the place a chance - should have stuck to our instincts.) Will go back only if someone we know has a better experience.

This is a gem of a BBQ Oyster house in the Bay Area. On our way back from Marin one Sunday, we decided on trying something new. We found the Rustic House Oyster Bar on Yelp. Wow! A place for BBQ oysters not in the Point Reyes, Marshall area. We must try this place. This newish eatery from what Fidel; the General Manager told us was totally re-designed to look OLD...... Yes, they spent a lot of time, energy and money making it look like an old fishing restaurant. Mauricio, our waiter was very attentive, funny and gave us great service. He advised us on the type of Oysters available and the four styles offered. Well! We ordered a dozen BBQ oysters and we devoured promptly. The fish and chips we fantastic. (After just vacationing up and down the Northern California coast and trying every seafood restaurants Fish and Chips) the Rustic House Fish and chips were in my top 3 favorites. Everything that we ate was properly cooked and seasoned perfectly. They also offer many great beers on tap. Overall, a great place for a casual great seafood meal. And, it is close to home!!!! I have been back a second time a few weeks later. The place was rocking! It was packed. And, yes again Fidel and Mauricio took take of us like we were the only people in the establishment.

Overpriced and mediocre, quality of food. We went there for a dinner during the week and were surprised by how small the "generous portions" that our server described really were - Steak - Two thirds of the plates were covered by gritty mashed potatoes, undercooked cauliflower, and tasteless spears of asparagus and carrots. Steak was unimpressive and overall $30 was really too much to charge for what we ordered. Prawn & Avocado Salad - Five small shrimp that I wouldnt even have billed as prawns top a forgettable salad. I fully expected the avocado halves to have some corners cut here too but at least that was as promised. Skip this place and treat yourself and your loved ones to a better quality of meal.

The owner, I presume, talks to customers, helps serve and even describes the dish ordered and graciously thanks the diners and ask for feedbacks. The staff were friendly and prompt in serving. The ceviche we ordered was the best I ever had. It wasnt commercialized... just enough tomato and onions but a lot of shrimps. It went well with the chips. Lobster Roll was super. Its a little pricey but you get the best for what you paid for. I will definitely go back to it and would be glad to recommend it to friends.

We stopped by for the oysters and threw in a lobster roll. We went for the grilled oysters this time. The bourbon ones had an excellent BBQ flavor. Yum. Washed em down with a Kalifornia Koelsch and Napa Pilsener. Also could not resist a lobster roll. Lots of chunks or real delicious lobster. It was served like a lobster salad in a toasted roll. Not bad not bad. Came with fresh hot fries and a delicious Cole slaw. Great place for lunch.

Upon having a layover at SFO and going away from the city I found myself here on a Sunday afternoon and was overjoyed at the grill. Fresh oysters and many topping options, great professional staff and sitting at the bar with a local ipa watching the grill was just the thing I needed to survive the SFO layover! Big tables too to accommodate a big crew if you want as well.

Fresh ingredients and great selection of beers. The oysters are fresh, but pricing is a bit high relative to other good oyster places in the area. The menu has the usual seafood items with some creative dishes. However, the broth for the clams were a bit too salty.

Oysters and ceviche were great! I ordered the fish and chips but it was super greasy and took a long time to arrive at the table. My fiancé got the Shrimp Po boy and said it wasnt too heavy and had good flavor. The fries were wonderful but a bit sparse.

Food was not bad, not great (shrimp tacos and Louie crab salad). Service was fast. The community tables are fine, and you can ask for a high back chair if you want. Price was higher than what the food was worth. Maybe we went on an off day...

I ordered the clam chowder and calamari. The clams were tender and juicy as well as the calamari cooked to perfection. My family is from New England so this is high praise. Thank you,Johnathan Front of house Mgr. for your awsome service.
