I used to HATE this place. Warning, review starts off bad but ends great!! If you have trust in me, and have seen my pix You can stop reading here and go see Roger. If you want a wild ride, sit down and strap in, in gonna get get bumpy folks! When Amaya first opened it seemed so promising. Great ambiance. Great cold draft beer selection. Nice sized sushi bar. Plenty of parking. Then it came time to order. What a joke. Youd think this new amazing sushi place would have everything that is on the menu. Generally its acceptable to not carry the Toro and uni every day as they are easily perishable and not lots of people love it. But this place WAS new when I first started going and it would have been nice. The sushi chef always had an excuse, "oh its Monday, shipment comes on tuesday." I go back on a Wednesday, and the excuse is the shipment came, I go on a Friday and the excuse was they magically just sold out. At this point I got tired of wasting my money and I swore this place off for good!! A year or so later, one of my sisters friends got a job there and I told her of my experience, assured me that things had changed and I should go back. I thought about it but never did. One day I was craving sushi and I happened to be close so I said to myself "self, lets give it whirl." This was months after the friend said I should try again. So I go in and surprise, surprise she no longer works there. Well Im there and Im hungry, so I stayed.... And this is where the story gets better. I was greeted by a sushi chef named Roger. Real friendly dude. So I go about ordering the usual and as usual for Amaya, im told they dont have the things I want. But Roger assured me hell make me some great stuff if I like to try new things. So I let him go to town. While he was making all these things, we were chatting and he was telling me all about his training and that he used to work at nobu in Malibu. Slowly as each dish was made Id sink my teeth into it each item was unbelievable. I would follow Roger to any sushi place he goes. Ive written too much. If youre interested in the dishes he makes, check out my pix. Until next time....

My favorite sushi stop. Good service and clean establishment. They desperately need a happy hour menu though; we spent a hundred dollars on our last visit (including tip), which is way too much for two people having two or three drinks & dinner after work. Crazy Mike & Tiger rolls are great!

Rude as hell and a bunch of idiots. Made my order over the phone and it was incorrect. Called to make a correction and as soon as I told them the problem they hung up. Called 2 more times to complain and was hung up on both times. Terrible customer service. Wont be going back

I love Amaya! The food is great. The ambience is hip and fun. It has a really cool vibe. But whats even better are the specials. Great deals on so many appetizer, sushi rolls and drinks! It looks like they updated their menu to a value menu and its a great deal.

I thought this place would be more legit but the sushi was alright I know better sushi spots than this one. The service was good though and the set up inside was nice and chill

Great sushi and rolls. I usually come in on Sundays for brunch and the food is always delicious. The servers are very friendly. More importantly the food is amazing.

They catered to us bringing our dog with us and everything. If you love sushi and you love your dog, this is the place to go...
