So heres the deal. It was bad. When we came in no one came to seat us till we walked up to a table next to one being cleaned. Next we sat at the table waiting to order but had to wait for someone to come to the table next to us to ask her and she went to tell our waitress we were waiting. When she finally got to us we ordered an iced tea and a water. The drinks came. The tea tasted like water with a splash of lemon. We informed them of the bad tea. She took the glass and when she returned she wss holding a water and began to tell us that yea the tea they have sucks and the bartender said thats just how it is. So they tried to sell us something they knew was bad.We had to ask to order our food after the table next to us, whom sat down after us, got their food. Then we ordered our food. We got it. When finished we had to ask someone else for our bill. She said she would inform our waitress. Our waitress came back after going to other tables and actually asked us if we wanted the bill.... We said we wanted the bill, right? Yes we want our bill. We want to leave. Got the bill and gave cash to pay. Still took incredibly long to get the change. Is it odd that all the white people I saw come in were seated and ordered with being served their food before the Asian group? Yea not so cool guys. Yea the food was not bad but the service was atrocious. I doubt I will ever go back again.

Great gastro pub in an up and coming part of the south bay. Met a friend here for a much-needed catch up, and it was the perfect spot -- casual, intimate, local, and delicious. Their cocktails were an affordable $10 and my beer was $11. We shared the mac&cheese (with a goat cheese, creamy and wonderful; the edamame (my favorite thing of the night), which was sauteed with shishito peppers in a soy sauce mixture that i could not get enough of; and the steak (cooked nicely, pretty tender, served with hella fries). Everything was tasty, and we each got a big to go box. The portions are great, the drinks are wonderful, and service is great. Definitely a nice neighborhood bar and lounge, and one Im sure I will be back to.

If youre looking for a dive bar.... Go to one. If youre looking for questionable food at reasonable prices, go to Taco Bell. If youre looking for a great neighborhood bar with great food and great atmosphere, Hudson House is the spot. So its not the cheapest joint on that block but in the end I think many people will agree, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. That simple . The food is great and well worth the price, the atmosphere is a mix between locals in sandals and hipsters in skinny jeans but it works. No bar fights here and the ladies dont have drunks disrespecting them. Over all id gladly pay a few more bucks to not get shot or stabbed when I go out. But dont take my word for it, come down and see for your self.

I like coming here for a casual meal and drinks. It has a nice vibe, variety of ages. Parking isnt great (maybe they have a parking lot that I dont know about though). We park on the street which has always been plentiful but you have to deal with PCH traffic. They have a great selection of drinks, beer and mixed. Ive never gotten wine but I assume they have a good selection of that also. The food is unique and good. If you want good, old American standards, this is not the place for you. But if you want high quality, full of flavor food, this is the place for you. But you will find "comfort food", as well as fairly healthy choices. I assume they have a trained chef in the kitchen.

"Foodies" seem to think this place is good. Im no foodie. I like to go to a nice place with good food, good service and good value. Hudson House fails on the good service and good value part of the equation. They do have some pretty interesting food selections but bring your wallet! The place is just too darn loud. Lots of uncommon beer selections, but you cant seem to get anyone to bring one to you. Yup, the service stinks. Ive been dragged there a few times and every time the service is bad, so its not just one person. Oh, and the latest time, the parking lot next door (which is apparently not a parking lot) has been fenced off, so there is ZERO PARKING.

Best dining experience of my California trip. We had the marinated flat iron steak with garlic and truffle cheese fries as well as the sweet corn cake with roasted plantain, fermented black garlic and stewed lentils. So many great things to try on the menu and a wide selection of craft beers. Atmosphere was very lively, a great place to meet for some food and drinks. Service was incredible too. The prices were very reasonable for the quality of food and drinks (and service). The experience far exceeded my expectations. Would highly recommend this place, I would love to go back again.

Really bad service! Had to get my check corrected twice as I was charged for drinks I didnt order. My friends were also charged for drinks she didnt order. The waitress was kind but definitely over worked and the establishment is under staffed. Whatever you do, dont complain to the manger (Christina) about anything because she will tell you to leave saying "we dont want any negativity here". She also threatened to call the police if we didnt leave....REALLY? Will never go back and neither will any of my friends.

Went to Hudson House in Redondo Beach CA because the restaurant is owned by Brooke Williamson, runner-up on Top Chef Seattle. Had Rockfish with black lentils, fennel, Shimeji mushrooms and red pearl onions, topped with onion sprouts with red wine vinegar. It was wonderful. Also had a Kale and Blue Cheese Salad, and Arame chicken drummettes with spicy red curry which she served as two courses in the finale of Top Chef Seattle. I was less impresse

Favorite gastro pub and speak easy in the area. Good atmosphere most days of the week and they have a particularly good selection of wine and beers but the absolute star of the show is food which is so representative of some of the best classic american dinning with a twist. The Hudson burger in particular is served on Pretzel bread and is definitely one to try along with their special steak dish and fries.

Im not sure whats all the fuss about this place. The food was good. We got the hanger steak and a burger. You can tell they use high quality ingredients, but the flavor wasnt really there. To be honest I can make better steaks at home. The service was a little spotty too, probably because there was only one server (she was really nice though). No planning on going back there.

My favorite person at Hudson House is Julia who either works the bar or the floor. She is super sweet and is one step ahead of you with getting drinks and food out quickly! I highly recommend the taco tuesday even though it is already packed out now. It is quite the experience!
