I worked for Neighbors Pizza a few years back. And while the food tastes great for the most part, there are a few things you should probably know about their business ethics. 1.) I was hired mainly for dough making as it fit my schedule. When I was trained on their methods of making pizza dough everything seemed pretty standard until they showed me a 10 gallon plastic bag with what they call "recycle dough". Recycle dough is pizza dough that was prepped ahead of time ready for toppings that would be left out for a good amount of time, and if it werent used they would toss it into the aforementioned plastic bag to be mixed into the next batch of pizza dough. Seeing this happen before my eyes was disgusting. And possibly considered illegal food handling. 2.) On my first day I was sent to the back to help make pizzas, I walk to the back and see a clamshell cooler, a walk in, and the pizza oven. Well for those of you who dont know what a clamshell cooler is: it is a waist level refrigerator with 2 "doors" on top which shield the inside food from air contact when not in use. The unit was in clean and good condition, although none of the food in the top of this refrigerator was ever tossed out after the 4 hour period for TPHC. (After 4 hours of being exposed to air contact food may have built up enough bacteria to cause food borne illnesses.) In fact, I was encouraged to save all the food and restock for the next day, (food should never be left in the top of a clamshell, it doesnt keep temp below 41 degrees. 3.) The NSF states that in order to have a running kitchen there must be a hand washing station available to all employees, along with disposable single use gloves for proper food handling in order to maintain guest safety. Though on site when I asked for gloves everyone looked at me strange while scrambling around to look for gloves. I was the only person who used them. Ever. 4.) Brian at first seemed like a really nice guy, and probably is a great person. But, after the way he handled his business Im not sure if recommend ever working for him to anyone. First off Ill state that as a 21 year old at the time I was really easy going and easy to get along with. I didnt talk much because I focused on the tasks at hand. So when I say the blatantly disrespectful phone calls I received at 12:00 midnight from Brian scolding me is never deserved. Aparently I was being yelled at because his wife thinks I had a problem with her. (I didnt. Honestly I didnt even really pay attention to her.) As youd expect one day I walked into work ready to quit from all the nonsense that had been going on. As I leave he said he wishes me the best of luck because I have no sense of urgency. To your last words to me Brian: Thanks for your wishes, because working for a place such as yours reminded me why I left Marysville, CA. To become a chef and serve my guests with respect and high quality food without sacrificing ethics. And if you were wondering what Im doing now, I work as a Chef in one of the greatest kitchens making enough to live a much better life than youd hope for. Have a nice life.

The first week this place opened I gave it a try.. They sell a good variety of side dishes but their pizza doesnt quite make up for high price. Its better than the average pizza but doesnt quite have the flavor or texture youd expect at that price. The crust isnt bad and is usually cooked just fine. Though theyve sometimes burnt my order a bit. Nothing too bad though, but that didnt help the taste either. The bread sticks are sub par at best. Bread sticks are my favorite part of Pizza restaurants and Ive tried a lot of different types and styles. Ive seen cheese bread twists with onion and garlic bits inside. Long crispy sticks and chewy bread pieces from a small loaf. Though their bread sticks are simply just a piece of seasoned sourdough bread with cheese on it. It was cut up in pieces mind you, but thats all it was. For three dollars I expect something origonal in shape. It seemed like they just bought it at the market and put some cheese on top and sold it. It didnt taste too bad though, but overall if felt cheap and out of place for a pizza joint. Might be fitting for a basic Italian restaurant for a single person but for a group of four eating pizza its just not what I paid for. To be honest I stopped going there due to the price. Its the price of higher quality pizza chains but at the taste of an average restaurant. Service is alright and they are far from rude in any sense but it feels like service at just about anywhere else. The area is a newly built spot just across the street from a gas station. Its also next to a few homes as well and theres some other shops that opened up nearby. Inside feels like a bigger higher quality restaurant and has a large wide screen TV and plenty of tables and seats. Perfect for a large party. Though the expensive looking chairs and tables dont really make the place feel all that comfortable if your just sitting down for a quick lunch. It may just be me but I dont get a very welcome feel that for some reason. They do have arcade games there as well, but its in a very cramped place. Good enough to send a kid to, but not quite the arcade enthusiasts best choice. Though thats not what there are there for, but it would be nice to consider a group playing for high scores. Its also near the main counter which only makes it hard to get back and fourth on busy days. Not really their fault but maybe lower the games down a bit to fit the area. Overall Id say its average. It wont feel like any other pizza place out there, but its in town. The food is more pricey than it should be and doesnt make me eager to come back. The bread sticks feel like a rip off as well which was majority disappointing. Its not bad and worth it if your hungry enough to pay the price, but I think they have some room to improve. It feels like any other pizza restaurant and gets the job done well enough. Just dont expect more for your dollar.

This place was good for a couple years, bow its going to crap just like everything else in this town. My pizza looked burnt, it was smooshed up against the box, it was incredibly greasy than normal, & it tasted like little ceasers nasty pizza. They forgot a topping on one of my pizzas, its even on the receipt. A time before, they didnt give me bread with my salad, they gave me sour cream instead of ranch like I asked. Just over all, this place is going bad. The food isnt as good as it used to be. It looks like nasty fast food anymore. Other than that, the employees are very nice & respectful. They just need to make their food better & take their time. Id rather have my food take a little bit longer because theyre doing it right than to have them rush & it cone out nasty.

Ordered a large pizza half and half, they got the order exactly right, it was very very tasty and piping hot when they delivered it less than 30 minutes later. The gal on the phone was extremely nice, polite and professional. They had my name and address accessed before they even took the order. The delivery guy was nice and polite. The only complaint or comment I have is that in this day of $5.00 pizzas their $20.00 large seems a little high, however their pizzas are so good and the service is so great I will continue to buy my pizzas from Neighbors
