I was in with a date yesterday to have a dessert. He ordered a sundae and when it arrived we noticed that they had put milk chocolate instead of dark chocolate fudge. We asked them to please make us another one. The girl came back and asked if we would just settle for them giving us some dark chocolate fudge on the side instead of making a new one. My date and I both did not like milk chocolate fudge, so we asked them again to please make another one. Then the supervisor of the sundae making (how funny huh?) Came over to us and asked us if we had ordered dark chocolate to begin with. We said no that we just ordered a sundae and they did not ask us what kind of chocolate we wanted. Then she replied "Oh well since you didnt specify which one you wanted we just gave you milk chocolate. You already ordered it, you will have to eat it.! Are you kidding me lady??? What horrible customer service. This is a freaking ice cream sundae!!! I got a little upset and said I have never been to any restaurant ever that argued with me over an order, I would like her to to please make it again. And finally she did. Hope she didnt spit in it. It kind of ruined the sweetness of the sundae however having to deal with all that bs. They need to train their employees to give much better customer service, not argue with them over ice cream!!!

First of all, there was a long line out the door here for ice cream and chocolates. They were passing out caramel chocolates samples. It was a little sweet for me. We ordered ice cream at the register. The lady at the register said, pick up the ice cream at the corner station. Thats where ice cream is made. Unfortunately she meant thats the corner to pick up ice cream. Ice cream is not made there. Seating : no seats indoor or outdoor was available. Water : they told us no water was available for guests. They ran out of water in the building. How are they operating? Employees are suppose to wash hands.

Bought a couple of times to fill from the picknmix for gifts; filled them, but when we got to the front of the (long) queue the sales assistant insisted we could get more in the tins and stuffed another half dozen chocolates in. Nice idea, but when we got them home the result was the tins kids had buckled and the chocolates were mostly crushed. All for friendly service and trying to give a little extra, but some common sense and just what we asked and paid for would be better.

It was a clean place although it was VERY crowded! The staff was helpful, cheerful. Nice ambiance by the way. It was a LONG line to get to order our ice cream but it was fast enough. THOUGH we waited a lot for 3 sundaes, like... a lot. The view is nice, seriously having a sea salt caramel sundae at the beach is the best thing ever! Everythings super delicious! I truly recommend to have patience and a lot of time to visit this place. Its worth the wait.

Came here while visiting Monterey, the guy working I think his name was Dan was a very helpful and welcoming guy. I ordered the salted Caramel quake it was delicious. The people here are fast with making orders. The seating area is fantastic. They have propane heating and plenty of seating both ocean front seating and cannery row seating. I definitely recommend this as a must stop in Monterey.

Fun and cute chocolate shop. We had a great time trying to fit as many chocolates as possible into one of the Gold tins. I love the free samples and of course the chocolate is delicious Too! Sundaes and floats along with hot chocolate and coffee are available in the back part of the store. Its not huge, but it does the job!

We have lived in the area for years and never been here. I was pleasantly surprised to find the seating area in the back also includes an ocean front patio! The ice cream and chocolate are (of course) delicious. The line was a few people deep but they prepared our food quickly and we were enjoying the view a few minutes later. Go!

Always a treat to stop by here when visiting Monterey! Its usually always busy but the staff is always friendly and courteous and wiling to hand out free samples with every new customer entering the building. Love sharing the sundaes with my husband but always refreshing to get scoops of ice cream with a warm drink.

I love Ghirardelli ice cream but the location of this Ghirardelli ice cream shop cant be beat! The view is amazing and the service was fast. Of course, the Brownie sundae and raspberry smoothie were delicious. The only downfall was that this location was sold out of my favorite sundae, the Muir Woods.

TOO TOOOOO LOUDDDD....my goodness you get to hear every single name yelled extremely loud!!! I also looked at the menu and I saw a huge glass full of ice cream and I purchased one to go and I got a small cup, not exactly what I saw. Tasty but not sure if I will go back there again. Too price also.

Delicious varieties of chocolate in almost any flavor you can imagine! They also have a coffee and dessert bar that serves decadent drinks using their chocolate. You can sit on the deck and watch the ocean, or next to the heaters and keep warm as you eat your treats!

Almost 2 stars for good ambiance but stale cones and syrupy (not creamy) ice cream for $5 a scoop. Yuk. Bright green mint chip?? Are we still in California? Staff was meh. Not friendly not unfriendly. Also you cant see the ice cream before you order it.

The ice cream and chocolates are an amazing way to end the day or night. When you walk in the store the greeter hands you a free sample and automatically you become hooked. Ghirardelli is a California chocolate staple. Definitely a place to stop by and enjoy.

I poured my hot chocolate cup after one sip, they cleaned the table and give me new cup. Im sorry and deeply thankful. Everyone there are very kind and nice. Chocolate drink and dishes are delicious. 25℅ off in christmas season

A little off topic but on the point
Fantastic place to sit and eat some chocolate and ice cream and watch the waves roll up on the sand. Great customer service and you get a free sample when you go in. Its a little pricey but the sweets are definitely worth it.

Weekends are crazy busy here as can be expected by most tourist traps, but still worth visiting for their ice cream and shakes. If you manage to get seating on the outside then you can enjoy a great view of the Monterey Bay.

Quality matters, and the plus side is they give you quantity as well! Had the Treasure Island, which is the same as the original sundae but with a brownie too. Ate every last morsel!

Ordered the cookie bits sundae. Me and the kids devoured it before taking a picture and before hubby came back from the car lol good thing he ordered a caramel chocolate milkshake.
