I took my family of 4 on a Friday night, at about 6pm. Surprisingly we were seated immediately, I didnt notice all the available seating in the back. Our drink order and drinks, followed by our meal order happened timely and thats where things kinda fell apart. We asked if they had any kid menu/coloring pages for kids and they didnt. My son and I ordered taco meals, my wife ordered a burrito meal and my daughter got a quessadia with fries meal from the kids menu. The food came quickly, too quickly. The rice was luke warm, likely sitting in a big pot on a warmer, not made fresh. The tacos were served fo order but had the same presentation as the rice, not hot. The tacos also lacked flavor, almost bland in taste. My wife said the same about her burrito meal. Once the meals were served, service seemed to get slow. We also went through a waiter change. Bottom line: there was nothing about our experience that made us want to come back.

Went here on Good Friday their special of the day was shrimp soup. Tasted good till I felt something hard in my mouth when I took it out I ask my daughter what the heck is that she almost threw up. Had to put my glasses on to make sure I wasnt mistaken. It was round bug with about 8 legs it resembled a beetle. I was so discusted to the waiter he took it back to the kitchen came back and told me it was some kind of bug that must have fallen from the vent. I didnt have to pay for the soup but had to pay for my moms and daughter. Manager never came up to apoligise or nothing .We will never eat there again makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like. Our waiter was very sorry felt bad for him but the manager should have stepped up. VERY DISAPPOINTED AND GROSSED OUT

Nopales, also known as cactus juice or prickly pear, is also known by some to have Anti-Inflammatory, Antioxidant and Blood Sugar Control. What is not common, is to eat it raw from the plant; when visiting a friends garden I noticed that he was growing 5 big "cactus" and I ask why. He grabbed a knife, cut one of the younger leaves(pads), scraped the spines off, cut a few little prices, ate one and offer me a piece. The raw flavor and texture was quite different from the delicious spiced Nopalitos dish (Mexican cactus grilled with onions, cilantro, tomato and jalapeños) at Las Casuelas Restaurant in Modesto. While the atmosphere is nice (due to La Morienita being there first), the food is awful, but just a step above the service. I have never had such terrible service at any restaurant in Modesto. Our server was incredibly rude, food was late getting to us, and had to wait 10 minutes after everyone else was served before receiving a childs plate! I was amazed at how terrible it was. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK! For good service, excellent mexican food, please consider El Rosal on Coffee and Floyd!

Definitely not better than the one in Turlock their enchiladas only come in corn like they said no I cant get it in flour ummm ok and and they come looking like tacos and their enchilada plates dont come with beans and rice the most unappetizing Mexican food food ever and I always love anything Mexican really wish I could have reviewed this place better but poor food quality other than that customer service was good!

I only went again because I had an pedicure appt next door at Gorgeous nails. My hubby dropped me off and my girlfriend picked me up.So we went to have a cocktail and I ordered the mocajeta (not sure how to spell it). Of course the service sucked again and we had two servers!!!! We had to keep asking for service. The food was ok.I dont understand why they have so many employees and the services still SUCKS!!!!

$12 for two tacos. The worst tacos of my life. The meat was over cooked, dry, and unseasoned. The tortillas were store bought. There was nothing else in the Taco. Just terrible meat and mediocre tortilla. The salsa was more like watery ketchup with no spice to it. The service was nonexistent. I asked to speak to the manager, I waited twenty minutes before I left since no one was around.

Was here for Fathers Day with my family and the service was horrible. We were there at 12:30 and did not receive drinks or food for over an hour. Other family that was with us, order drinks and had to ask for them four times before they brought then to us. It wasnt even that busy and there was waitresses just sitting around chit-chatting.

food is ok.. the molcajetes and happy hour brings people in. service is crap and the bar tender is usually moody unless she knows u. they take forever and seem to always over charge. not worth the happy hour price when u get over charged and dont get ur food for an hour

The food as always was great. The only bad thing was the chips. They were old. The other bad experience was with the waiter, who was not attentive and had to ask him 3 times for more salsa, He still didnt bring us any. I had to ask someone else for the salsa.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant! I love the food, especially the salsa, its hands down, the best salsa Ive ever had. Im always impressed by the service too, they are prompt and friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone.

I came through this restaurant for a fundraiser drive through event. I live so far from this restaurant. I ask if I could eat in the restaurant even if I bought more food. I was denied and resorted eating in my car with my son.

The service at las casuelas in modesto is terrible I had to wait 20 minutes for our tab. We go to las casuelas in turlock and the service is great we r regulars in turlock. I will never go to las casuelas in modesto again.

This place is always noisy during peak hours, but the food is worth it. The parking lot is small, but there is parking right next door . There is a party room for larger groups.

I enjoy this restaurant. If you do go, I recommend the bean dip. Im vegetarian, so I cant recommend much else not having tried it. What I have tried has been excellent.
