We were looking for a passable Chinese restaurant in the area, for we never thought we would find one that could surpass our favorite Chinese restaurant (also in the San Fernando Valley) which we frequented before we moved. Not only did we find a Chinese restaurant, we found OUR ALL TIME FAVORITE PLACE! First off, there is no MSG cooking. Their Tangerine Chicken is very similar to Orange Chicken but even better. They dont have Chow Mein so we ordered their Lo Mein. When they placed the Lo Mein plate on the table, the smells were unbelievable. We knew it was going to be good and it was. Enjoy, I know we will from on.

So we went here on accident. We normally go to Mandarin king but grabbed the wrong menu by mistake. Worst mistake ever and we will never be going back here again. Parking was terrible and sparse, and there was no space in the waiting area. Food was bland. I ordered kung pao beef and there all of two peanuts, six peppers, was bland and not spicy. Whats strange is they asked me if I wanted peanuts. The food was also over priced for the small portion sizes we received and it wasnt even hot. We will never come here again. It is Americanized Chinese food and panda express is better than this place.

The food at Mandarin Island is delicious. They have any type of Mandarin food you can imagine, such as Orange Chicken, Chicken Fried Rice, and many many more. You can always order over the phone and pick up minutes later, or you can get it deliver. But do not make plans for a family gathering, and expect them to deliver anywhere, because if you are on any part of Van Nuys Blvd, they will say "NO", they can only deliver locally, Lassen, Sepulveda all the way to Sherman Way, and thats it. But please give them a try and see for yourself.

BE CAREFUL! THEY MIGHT STEAL YOUR CREDIT CARD!!! I EAT THERE LAST WEEK AND I SELDOM USE THIS CARD. RIGHT AFTER I LEFT THE CHARGES KEPT PILING UP AND RIGHT IN THIS AREA AROUND THE RESTAURANT. I LIVE ABOUT 80 MILES AWAY FROM THE RESTAURANT AND JUST WENT TO A VISIT UP THERE THEN TO THE RESTAURANT. PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN USING YOUR CARD THERE !!! SOMEONE MAKES A COPY!!!! THE FOOD WAS OKAY OTHERWISE. LARGE PORTIONS!

Rude! Ultimatum when they are late everytime! From their mouth "what do you want me to do? Do you want the food or not?" After waiting over 1.5 hours for food. "Solve the problem now, want the food or not?. Have ordered several times thinking it might be difference. They decided to throw food away then to give a discount when over an hour late.

Ordered 2 shrimp soup for my lunch which usually takes 15 mins now its been over 30 mins. Terrible. I got to work and found out I only got 7 shrimp in my soup. They usually put like at least 10. Come on waited so long and not get enough shrimp. I might of just ordered vegetables soup and saved me $2. Come on Mandarin Island

The family enjoys the Tangerine Chicken, Orange Chicken, dumplings, Chicken fried rice, the list can go on. It has a fresh, authentic, non-commercial taste to it. We have been loyal to Mandarin Island since we found it. Give it a try, you deserve a taste.

Everyone who works here is wonderful and anyone who says otherwise is obviously dead inside. The food is great, family size portions, a lot of menu options. Ive never tried anything I didnt like!! Just park in the back right behind the restaurant.

Uuuuuh, where is the stir fried crab i see on the picture outside lol! Its a very american chinese place. Democraphics determined this. You want your fortune cookies, stir fried beef, chow mein and wontons go for it.

I have been going here for a few years. The food is always good. Service is great. Parking can be a small problem when they are bust, but worth the time to find a parking place. They do take out orders over the phone.

gross bathrooms, and theres this server that locks himself in the bathroom for hours and wont let customers to use it and when you knock the door he will slam it at you. expect to be ignored at some point.

Ive only ever ordered take out from this place and to be honest its hit or miss. There delivery time is fairly quick which is nice. The best dish they have is the tangerine chicken n honey walnut shrimp.
