I went to eat here with friends one of them left a review on yelp. I am sharing his review because it is the general consensus of our entire group. Everything about this place is mediocre. Lets talk about the service first. The hostess was very nice tons of personality which is a great start to any meal. I had originally made a reservation for 4 people and asked for a booth as two people in our party were handicapped and tables are always hard for them. The manager who was at the host stand whispers something into the hostess ear and they try and sit us at a table. The restaurant was empty. Of course I had to make a stink to the manager that told the hostess to seat us at a table. This guy was flat out rude like talking down to us. My friend calmed me down so we didnt immediately leave. As we should have done. Our waitress was nice but we only really saw her at the beginning and the end of the meal. The restaurant was empty so it was irritating we had to flag someone down when our burger had to be sent back twice. The drinks were definitely overpriced for the location of this place. Although they were the highlight of the meal. The wine list is just a little strange and very eclectic so we ordered cocktails. The food was well just small and not good at all. This place boasts having only local ingredients on their menu but I see a Sysco truck pull in front of the restaurant unloading food? Did Sysco start sourcing local? I came in to eat because I saw the article about how all their ingredients come from within 30 miles of the restaurant. I think someone else pointed out the scallops were frozen; they were. Wish I would have read that review before I ordered this. The risotto was bland and the frozen scallops were salty beyond belief. I only got two scallops for 33 dollars. What a rip off!! My party also ordered the wild mushroom toast and the beef cheeks. The beef cheeks were tiny not even enough to share with 4 people not unlike the scallops. I pay 16 dollars for mostly Cremini mushrooms on their WILD mushroom toast???? Maybe this award winning chef doesnt know what wild means. We also ordered the burger to share and they wouldnt cut it for us which didnt bother me so much. We ordered it medium and it was burnt to a crisp, sent it back and it came back out raw. Hey if they would have cut it for us they would have seen it was not cooked properly. Why even ask for a temperature if they cant cook it that way. What a disappointment not only in service but also boasting a local menu and wild mushrooms when this is obviously not the case. I refuse to come back when there are so many places down the street that are so so much better. Not to mention how unethical it is to say your local and you serve wild mushrooms when you dont. I hope the other people that live in Manhattan realize this place is insulting. Not only do they price gouge but they lie about the ingredients. Shame on you Manhattan house

. Received a very nice call today from the owner of MH who apologized for the service and experience we had on Sunday evening. Apparently there were significant staffing issues with a shortage of personnel. He invited us to return as the restaurants guests and asked us to give them a chance to make up our disappointing evening, Much appreciate his follow up and will take him up on his offer. Stay tuned and I give him tremendous KUDOS for following up my review and truly caring. We made a reservation for a second visit last evening and the four of us were guests of the restaurant. We had a great dinner with wonderful service, The manager, I think Ryan (?) came to our table to greet us and made us feel very welcomed. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. We had a great bottle of Pinot Noir. I had the burger (again) and it was excellent. My husband had the Korean short ribs and they were fabulous. We shared the lamb meatballs as an appetizer and they were delicious. It was a very, very yummy dinner and we will most definitely be back. Thank you to Richard for inviting us back and to the management for following up with us after our first visit. This time was totally different and could not have been better!!!

I loved everything about this place. The bar, the drinks, the atmosphere, the staff and the ethos they have. Using seasonal food, often home grown which means the menu changes often. Between 5 of us we managed to try more that 3/4 of the menu and it was all delicious. my standout were the lamb meatballs and the liver pate. Oh the pate, I pretty much grabbed that and ate the whole lot myself. The chef Diana said it was a recipe she picked up while working in France. I need that recipe!! I like that you could eat here every week and not have to eat the same old dish. The Carrotology dish was amazing it must take so much time to make. if its on the menu you have to get it so you can say youve had carrots 11 different ways. I gather almost everything is made on site from sausages to drunken cherries and also a lot of the fruit mixers used in the cocktails. and they are trying to grow locally in the carpark even and through a program at a local school. I will definitely be back next time I am in town.

What a great little spot! Stopped here with my girlfriend on a whim when visiting the nearby area. Stopped in about 5:30 on a Tuesday with no reservation and we were seated immediately! They sport a generous cocktail/beer selection, and the happy-hour discount makes it even better. The food was fantastic, even better knowing that its all locally grown and sources. The daily special Chorizo Burger I ordered was probably the freshest tasting burger sandwich I have ever had; the bun was massive and delicious, the burger itself was super juicy and flavorful, topped with super-fresh tasting tomatoes and greens. Top all this off with a very friendly and helpful staff, I cannot recommend this place enough! If you are in the area be sure to stop by, but it is good enough to warrant a trip to the area by itself!

Brunch on Saturday was good! My friend had the egg sandwich, everything made there and fresh. I had a nice salad with bacon and a hard boiled egg with honey mustard dressing and their maple bacon, really good. Prices are a bit stiff, but this is Manhattan Beach. Service was very good, friendly. Place is clean and the booths are comfy. We will be back to try out the bar!

Dont go dont go. Save yourself the hassle. Overpriced and undercooked. We had the risotto and for 25$ this dish was not even close to a good meal. The manager Juan was so rude we actually left without finishing. Needless to say we wont be back as there are so many good places in the area.

Plain and simple, this place was great. The appetizers were great, dinner was great, service was great. They have a reasonable corkage fee if you want to bring your own wine. The ambiance was really nice and they have PARKING! Its not in the downtown area so they have that luxury. Great spot.
