This place is awesome. We found Spring Street Smokehouse when we were looking for caterers for our wedding. A wedding blog highly recommended Spring Street so we decided to give them a try and have some lunch at the restaurant. We went with friends and had a great time and really enjoyed the food. We were sold so we talked with Chris to have them cater our wedding and the experience couldnt have been better. Chris helped us a lot since he has a lot of experience with catering. He knew all the little details that we would have never thought of. He even accommodated our special requests without any problems. Chris was always available and very helpful. The day of the wedding Chris was on site and was again great. We served the food buffet style but Chris served us our food so that we could continue to meet with our guests. He really went above and beyond and that is what makes the difference. Chris and his staff were amazing. The food was amazing as well. We had a few people from Texas (so they know good BBQ) and they loved the food. Our favorite is the Brisket but the tri tip is awesome too. I would highly recommend this place to any BBQ lover.

Went here with my parents to try out this place awhile ago I saw the ratings of this place and decided to try it but man sometimes its better to avoid reading everyones rating aboutthe restaurants and other places theyve been to because the will just straight out boast out on how "good" the place is but its all false advertisement. This place is a pretty small but decent size the workers here are nice. But the food was half-assed done I ordered the beef brisket sandwhich and sadly did not enjoy it. The brisket was overcooked a bit to the point were it didnt have its delicious taste and the sauce theyd used on it didnt taste right with it also there was something missing in the ingredient. And coming from a smokehouse place Id expect more because this place has been here since 2007 I believe and its gotten an award for best smokehouse BBQ in LA a couple of years back but what happened now? To be honest this smokehouse place is all talk and people being rating this like its a top notch place to eat. But to be honest it is not a 5 star BBQ restaurant it completely me dissapointed and Id rather eat at a different place.

Well I Guss this is the third strike. Two years ago it was one of the best BBq places in Los Angles. First strike a year ago got an order of beef ribs to go. Got home and the ribs where RAW, red meat and still bleeding. Brought the order back and all they did was put them in microwave. How I knew was one of the ribs was broken in two. and only having them in the kitchen for 6 min or so. They had to microwave them. Strike two was Again ordered the beef ribs got home and they got the order wrong and gave me the pork ribs. And now strike three tried them one more with a dubble order of beef ribs at $ 64. I should have checked them before i left. but the bag was sealed big time and i did not wont them getting cold before i get home. Got home and the wrong order again pork ribs... called them in and they said that they did not find an order with my name and hung up on me. Brought them back and had to wait an norther 20 min for the order. Got home and the beef ribs looked 20years old dry little to no sauce.DON NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY THERE. Fell stabbed in the back buy them should have order a pizza at pizza hut,,,,

This is a gem of a place! Although located in a part of town I would never venture into, it was a great and easy find. We ordered the beef ribs and chicken. Our 4 sides included: Mac and Cheese, Vinegar Slaw, Jalapeño Corn bread and French fries. Everything was delicious. They also service good iced tea, beer and wine. The restaurant was small but homey. Our food came out maybe 10 minutes (if that) after we ordered. We also got the peach cobbler which was alright. Delicious, but not as warm as it should have been. Lots of meter parking around too!! Prices: we ended up spending $60. Fair, but not cheap. The beef was obviously more than the chicken, but worth it as this is one of the few beef rib spots in DTLA that doesnt cost an arm and a leg. The service can be improved, but overall it was a good experience. Great for a casual date night or to bring a group of people.

I love Spring Street and visit about once a week. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable with a relaxed vibe. Jeremy has the best craft beers and ciders on tap in the City…hands-down. Sometimes I have to make a second visit during the week just to enjoy a new tasty brew that he recently added to the rotation. The servers are attentive, genuinely friendly (rare in LA) and always make me feel welcomed and at home. Shout-outs to Justin, Lettie (“Hi Hon!”) and Chris. I’m a vegetarian so I haven’t tried much on the menu. I’ve had the macNcheese, grilled veggies, fries and cobbler though…all good. Im hoping that beer-battered onion rings will be added to the menu cuz nothin’ goes better with beer and BBQ sauce like onion rings. Dodger days can be busy so you may want to check the calendar and plan accordingly. Enjoy! I always do.

I grew up in Santa Maria, CA. Home of tri-tip. I was looking for a low key but nice place to eat while I waited for my train to depart in a couple hours. "comfort food" is on the front. As soon as I walked in I was warmly greeted by what seemed to be the owner. He was immediately welcoming and attentive. I was actually thrown off by such a warm welcome, as he hands me a menus before I sat down, asking me where I would like to sit. As I settle in, I begin to feel the comfort. The food was great. The beer selection was unique and awesome. I recommend this joint to meat lovers and beer enthusiasts alike. Nothing extraordinary about it, but thats what I like. A laid back, easy going, affordable and good place to hangout. Cheers yall! -Anthony

I got the 3 meat combo...brisquet, chicken, and beef ribs with 3 sides of chili, Mac and cheese, and cornbread. Brisquet had no flavor and was dry, the chicken was even drier, and the ribs were pretty good. Just sitting under a heat lamp for the most of the day I would guess. Chili was good but no spice, Mac and cheese was bland. The cornbread was super dry and overcooked as well. Waiter seemed alright when we got there but he (Chris) seemed annoyed after we were going to get desert as well. Though I had a of meat left I just tossed it instead of saying something cause my gf hates it. Overall wouldnt go there again but I was stationed in Texas while I was in the Army so I know what good bbq tastes like. Oh well nice ambiance in the place.
