Walking in, I knew immediately I wasnt cool enough for this place. They had "for-here" cups for iced drinks which never happens, and also those cups were mason jars. The staff is really lovely though and its a beautiful cafe. The drawings in the bathroom are a little weird but theyre cool but idk they were a little much to be staring at while I peed. The coffee was really great though I got an iced dirty chai and it was nice. Maybe a bit too much cinnamon. The ham and cheese croissant was good too, very flakey. Overall really nice place except I wasnt cool enough to fit in with the rest of the customers.

Contemporary, clean, and quality describe this unassuming coffee shop. They have a simple menu showcasing great espresso drinks in the italian tradition, as well as the famed chai tea latte, cold brew on tap, and kombucha on tap for those that want a less acidic energy boost. You can also find "Juice Served Here" fresh pressed juices featured here. There isnt a lot of seating so it may be hard to find a place to sit but it is a good place to get some work done or meetup with someone.

From the start everything was a five star experience. This is the first time I get coffee here and was not sure what everything on the menu was. The guy that helped me out answered all my questions and even recommended the cortado with a little bit of sugar. Let me tell you this coffee was delicious. I havent had coffee this good in a while, from ANYWHERE. I highly recommend this place. The staff is great, the coffee is great, and the place looks great.

Mochas are not as sweet as the chain coffee places, which is nice, and are served at a drinkable temperature. My son loves the donuts (locally made, more like a dense cake than a fluffy donut - theyre good if thats what youre expecting). I really enjoy their pastries and quiche, though because of their supply chain I never know whats going to be available when I go in - which means I try new things.

Coffee is good and service is excellent. We had an Americano and a latte. Both great. Unfortunately half way through my latte my 7 mo sweety decided it would be funny to tip it over. The personnel was at our table before I even had time to figure it out. They cleaned the table for us an gave me a new latte! How nice! I would definitely recommend this place.

Good coffee and decent menu items if youre looking for a quick bite to eat. VERY cramped seating, however, as I shared a six foot table with five people and thats the best seating there is in the shop. Also, the music can be a tad too loud at times, but thats on the playlist, not them. Awesome music playlist, btw.

love the vibe and staff. coffee is amazing. free wifi and just a wonderful experience overall. the owners are very pleasant and you can feel their passion for what they do. high grade teas and outside sourced pastries are memorial with every sip and bite. oh and the atmosphere is relaxing and inviting too.

Pros: Amazing espresso / coffee drinks and gourmet quality food, clean industrial modern interior design, super friendly and skilled baristas. Cons: A little pricey for the out-of-the-way location, not a very personal or cozy atmosphere if thats what youre looking for in a coffeehouse.

As an avid coffee shop goer I would have to say this one I love. They not only have great coffee, but the owner is cool too! Cal Heights is the perfect neighborhood for Steelhead Coffee both trendy and cool while being laid back and cozy. I will definitely be working and sipping here!

Warm people, good food and GREAT coffee selections in a friendly, relaxing environment make for a perfect local coffeeshop. If you like to buy local or are looking for a place to talk shop about coffee or kombucha, theyre the place to go! Their vegan donuts are out of this world!

Im a huge espresso afficionado. I have tried all the best coffee shops in San Francisco but this hole-in-the-wall hiden gem beats them all.The owner and barista Wilson is probably the best barista. The sumatra beans, all organic product and pastries are just out of this world.

Its charming, friendly and clean. The ez iced chai with almond milk is yum. Not too sweet but filled with lots of spice. Ordered the chuck palmer for a friend and his looks sparkly good too! Only downside is the chai comes from a box...Give me the real stuff, please!

This is the type of place you can grab a tasty caffeinated beverage of your choice, sit down, study, work, or have a nice conversation with the baristas or fellow coffee lover. Laid back and relaxed. Truly a gem of a place in Long Beach.

The coffee is good, but I dont like the ambiance - the location seems a bit sterile. The plus is that they have parking. It is a super small lot, but at least they have a spot. They have wifi as well, which is a good.

Nice bare look, Gives it both a hipster feel and a nice change of pace however it doesnt feel out of place in the neighborhood. Try it you will like it if your a fan of a strong cup of Joe with out the bitterness.

Amazing cappuccino. Really just amazing. They serve locally roasted Rose Park roasters coffee. Excellent coffee and excellent service with a great atmosphere.
