Pei Wei nicknamed "P F Chang Express" is good "Asian Food"? Fusion yes, but Asian not really. Theres really isnt any cuisine there that matches cuisine in any Asian country. This is a chain version of an American take on Asian Fusion. I am curious to see what Anthony Bourdain thinks about this place. This is like going to Taco Bell for the best Mexican Food. PLEASE PSH this CA we have good Mexican food and Asian Food. Theres a saying, "The way to tell if a place is good. Look to see how many Chinese (or Asian) people are inside". Including staff and customers the only Asian people (person) I saw was this one guy in the mirror. Dont get me wrong Pei Wei is not bad depending on the item, but dont call it Asian. Call it Californian if anything. I am guilty of going to Pei Wei a lot when I first moved to the OC. Being Asian food deprived after spending a few years in the IE, this was a breath of fresh air. The food quality is okay. My friend loved going there for the Free Soda and fortune cookies. Normally, we each order an item and ask for water then fill up the cup with soda. I know thats bad, but its a crime to charge for soda when everyone else is getting it for free. The fortune cookies are in a basket so if you dont like your fortune.. Help yourself to another! Our favorite dishes are the Mongolian beef and Sweet and sour chicken. The menu is up to you because you can customize the meat and sauce. The Mongolian beef is tasty, but not authentic. It taste like oyster sauce beef with some different spices. The meat is fried somewhat Panda Express style. The Sweet and sour chicken is more sour than sweet. Overall the atmosphere is clean and somewhat fancy, but not at the same time. I think if the servers took your order it would add a nice touch to it, but this is not a sit down place. You walk up to the counter to order. Maybe the servers can at least offer to take your plate or refill your drink. Buffets do it. Why not? Sometimes I feel like Im going to a cafeteria, because the cashier and servers are trying to get you seated and out of there. I like getting food faster and thats why we go here, but I dont get the feeling the servers take the time to care for the customers. Recommend if you dont have much time to travel or wait for food. Great for lunch if you dont have high Asian food expectations. If you are looking for consistent chain food, this place will for fill your need. If you hate PF *not* Changs like me, you may want to skip out on Pei Wei.

Pei Wei at The Orchard is one of my favorite eateries. The staff is always polite and helpful, the food is delicious and good value, and the restaurant is clean. Pei Wei is essentially an "express" or "fast casual" version of P.F. Changs (same owner): you order at the counter, sit at a table or booth of your choice, and they bring your food to you. The food is mostly Asian-inspired noodle and rice dishes with your choice of protein (tofu, chicken, steak, or shrimp), along with salads, sushi (pre-made rolls), and a variety of appetizers, and they have a selection of gluten-free meals. There is also a small "secret" menu, which you can find using a search engine like Google. For beverages, they have Coke Freestyle soft drink dispensers, tea, beer, and wine. While the dining room is fairly large, this particular restaurant is often very busy during the lunch (12-1 pm) and dinner (6-8 pm) hours, so be prepared for a wait or order your food to-go. Patio seating is also available.

I hardly ever write a review but the service there sucks Dont bother going there if your not Mexican but they will treat you like crap n ruin your order n if you complain they just look at you n give you attitude like your wasting their time n bothering them while your there spending your money

We got take out for dinner, the food was ready extremely fast. It took about 10minutes for me to arrive and the food was waiting for me to pick up, I was in and out. Great portions(had leftovers the next day) and food is delicious. Staff is friendly as well.

Worked here washing dishes. Its definitely not the cleanest kitchen and needs an inspection but overall the food is fresh and good. Boss worked me like a dog every night while he was outside smoking cigarettes
