Dont waste your money here. This place is less than half the quality and 25% pricier than other chinese restaurants in Irvine. Three big food mistakes and the credit card payment was so weird. You had to sign before the credit card was even processed. Before I decided to try this place out, I knew it was a hit and miss due to the much lower Yelp reviews. Service was very borderline testy and the food was three strikes out: 1. Pan Fried pork dumplings totally not authentic even though the server recommends it. 2. The normal chinese dark rice vinegar that gets served with the dumplings was brought out as chinese Worcestershire sauce and the server kept on insisting it is Black Vinegar and showed me the English label on the big plastic bottle. The third time it was brought out right from the kitchen. It seems that they dont label the sauces correctly or dont have the taste buds to know the difference. 3. The eggplant tofu pot came out without any eggplant. The restaurant only added a few pieces of eggplant without remaking the dish. What a huge disappoint!!! Even when you want to support a local business like this, they are just not worthy. Terrible dining experience. Go to Tasty Noodles instead!

In my opinion, this place is very under-rated due to its remote location. The food is very authentic and delicious. My roommate and I always get two dishes and one soup during our dinner visits. The rice, I believe, is free. I cant remember the specific names of our frequent dishes, but we were never disappointed for trying other things. The staffs were great!

Ideal for people appreciate a light and family dinner. A few simple dishes, not oily, not salty, not too sweet, just the right balance of texture and taste. My wife and I, dine there almost every week. We consider Ren Bistro a top casual diner in OC.
