The space is nice, the coffee and cronuts were tasty, but we were served by a gaggle of idiots. After we offered to wait while the cashier finished counting some cash, she assured us we could order, then she relayed our order to someone else who entered it and rang us up. Later our drinks and one of our entrees arrived and we asked after our second sandwich and girl number 2 said it would be just a couple minutes. They only had one cook and were "so busy." Of course, half the tables were empty, but we figured "Hey, maybe that is busy for a weekday" and kept drinking our coffee and whatnot. Fifteen minutes later we asked after the sandwich again, and sure enough it had been lost in the jumble and apparently we hadnt been charged for it. Girl number 1 sent the sandwich order to the cook, and then we asked the cook if we could get it to go, and she said we had to pay for the sandwich. At this point we left. A cold deli sandwich was not worth all that waiting and having to talk to bubble-heads and still getting charged full price. Ladies, I work in food service. If I drop an order I apologize profusely and assume responsibility. I comp the sandwich and give a coupon or something for next time. This place is staffed by girls who dont care about their customers. TL;DR service sucks. They make mistakes and dont bother to make up for them.

I found the Grove on Forest about the week they opened and immediately fell in love with the place. I had just moved from Mill Valley California and was really missing my local coffee roasters. It turns out that the Grove uses the same Equator beans that the coffee place and Mill Valley has, plus they offer the most amazing gluten free waffles. The location is a little secluded, but it is absolutely worth tracking down. It is right next to the Laguna Beach Post Office. In the warm weather their iced coffees are not to be missed.

We LOVE this hidden gem in Laguna -- The Grove! Our new favorite restaurant! The food is prepared by Master Chef James who prepares each dish fit for a King, delectable and unique, with beautiful presentations. The poached eggs have a texture of custard and are outstanding. He obviously enjoys preparing amazing dishes and makes everyone feel special that visits his restaurant. The ambiance is trendy and casual with friendly staff. It is a great way to start your morning!!!

Great little cafe on one of the main streets in downtown Laguna. Very fresh, wholesome, Californian breakfast and lunch fare. I had the fruit waffle which is gluten free and delicious! The waffle itself has good texture and flavor. The vanilla bean whipped cream adds just enough creamy and sweetness to complement the more tartness of the berries, topped off with REAL maple syrup. Their lattes are perfectly made with fair trade organic coffee. I definitely recommend!

Extremely bad service on a Tuesday afternoon. We ordered two sandwiches, they brought out one and took away the order number as if that was all we ordered. I asked after the second sandwich, and was told it was on its way. Over 15 minutes later, still no sandwich so we complained again. A miscommunication between their staff led to the error, so we were offered the sandwich for free, then 5 minutes later told we had to pay for it after all. We rage quit and left.

This is one of Laguna Beachs newest hidden treasures. Fantastic staff, food, and coffee! What more can you ask? Highly recommend trying out one of their many choices of coffee with a pastry on the side. It has a unique contemporary home-y feeling, simple and cozy. Its a humble café that will be coming back to again and again.

So far the best cappuccino in Laguna beach. Service was great and sitting around the outside tables on a good weather day makes the scene. Breakfast was great and I recommended them to warm the plates as the eggs got to cold from the plate. Will definitely be back here for my morning fix..

I was invited to this new cafe/coffee shop. The employees were very nice but the owner could certainly work on being more polite (even if he is busy.. busy can be done politely). Nice atmosphere in the exceptionally nice Lumberyard Mall.

Very chill hidden gem cafe in Laguna. Wide brunch selection that covers savory and sweet. The homemade granola was crispy and flavorful but not sweet. Instead the dish was sweetened with green raisins. Nice touch!!

Nice newly opened coffee shop with quality beans and pastries. Equator beans are sold at this location. There is a very spacious indoor seating area as well as outdoor seating.

Good location, roomy, and friendly service. Not a chain and use "Equator" beans exclusively. The nut and apricot tart is excellent.
